- I was at a very special event called NAMM, and I asked random people to sing. But it turns out, with very good reasons, they have rules against guests popping up and performing within the event area. So eventually we figured out another way to continue the project! (Watch the video to see)

As a musician, I'm all about creating musical experiences that have people feeling happy and free, and that's why the "Sing With Me for Free" series exists. Since 2018, I have asked thousands of random people to sing with me on camera. A lot of people have said no, some have said no initially but changed their minds to yes, and some have said yes right away. I ask these people to sing with one purpose: to create a way for them to experience a sense of happiness and freedom they did not feel before. And much of the time, this actually works (and that makes ME happy).

Thanks all for watching another musical adventure! Just as a reminder, I stand with NAMM's way of keeping the event orderly and safe. So I was glad to follow their procedures and take my show outside of their borders. And it worked out great! I look forward to possibly working with NAMM next year and setting up something on their event calendar if they'll have me :)
Why do you ask them a question while your doing something if your not going to listen to what they are going to say ... When she said that singing with you was going to be the highlight of her trip and getting a laugh from you because you were not listening to what she was telling you so she looked you in the eyes and said that your better then universal Studios and Disneyland but just getting a nice.
I didn't like that part ... I felt like you just wanted her to stop talking and singing so you can get another person to sing so you can get more content .. I think you should stop asking them a question when you are focusing on something else
And get 2 pads so the next person can find the lyrics to the song that they want to sing while your playing it will cut down on that dead time so you don't have to ask them anything to fill that time or you can ask them something you really are interested in knowing about them

When the first woman suggested "Lovin' You", I knew she must be able to sing because there is absolutely no point in trying that song if you don't have the goods. Her whistle tone is phenomenal -- one of the purest, strongest I've heard.
And she did it without a warm up. I can hit those notes but i need to warm up at least 10 minutes. She's great!

Melissa has a great voice. She definitely should try out for America's Got Talent, American Idol, or The Voice. She may not win. But she would have the best shot at winning. America and or the world would love her.

There needs to be a risk assessment on crowds and their impact to not invalidate insurance. Be considerate. Maybe NAMM could have a Reggie stage
NAMM did put his photo up on their website as shown by Guitaro near the end of the video.
The lady that got the assignment waited until he was in between singers. The fact that she has the reasons all ready to go leads me to believe that there was quite a bit of discussion inside NAMM before Reggie was asked to leave!
I also appreciate that although Reggie shows his disappointment..he is courteous...at least on camera!😊
My first thought was, wow its a music show let people play and sing. But if there's hundreds of people crammed in the sidewalk if there's a fire, or a emergency and EMT needs access.

Both of these ladies are great singers! When the first one started singing I knew she was pro, but when she hit the notes in the whistle register so well I was super surprised at how lovely she sounded. The whistle register can easily sound like a scream, but it takes skill, technique, and training to make it sound musical. The last girl had a great tone to her voice. I love how she breaks between certain notes. Lovely!
WOW - She had a voice from Heaven!! Reggie is demonstrating good civil behavior & class, right there. There are rules, some good some not so good, just like laws. Laws are meant to be followed, for the benefit of the common good. When laws do not benefit but hurt some or more of the population, those laws need to be addressed. You got that one song in there though and she was a show stopper! Literally. And then you figured out how to go on! She hit all the Minnie Ripperton notes and carried it even higher. Minnie would be proud.
Yeah, I was playing the piano to her high down-runs at the end of each chorus - the 6 natural notes from the E in the piano's highest octave down to G in the 2nd highest octave.
But the final run surprised me. After the 6th note G, she sang an extra note. Jumping a full octave to end on the G in the highest octave. Amazing.

Can't help but think the NAMM woman shutting you down is a metaphor for how the music industry treats artists I.e. You can perform what we tell you, where we tell you and we'll arrange everything and take the profit and credit.

The woman who made him move was part of the event organizer team. She did not ask him to move because of the one song that Renee sang, that just happened to be the song being sung when she came to tell him to move.
(edit: okay I see Reggie used an officer's image on the cover of the video - that was from the montage in the middle of the video of various past times he was told to move. But there was no police involved in this case, at NAMM.)
