- I actually changed my mind during this review of the Axis1Tour-HM putter. I'm thinking of swapping my Scotty Cameron for an Axis1 putter - what do you think?!

I deliver straight talking, easy to follow, honest, professional, calculated advice to all of my viewers from beginner to tour pro. This tried and tested method of coaching has helped many golfers achieve their personal goals and beyond.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder....in this case I might be blind. Thanks for watching ❤️
My dads old Odyssey White Ice ‘Rosie’ putter. He passed away 13 years ago and I can’t bring myself to play another one.
I’m a mechanical engineer, and it seems to me, swinging a putter in line with your target rather than trying to hit a ball at the apex of an arc, makes more sense. As a casual golfer, I use a face balanced putter and employ a fairly straight backswing and follow through. My ball direction is pretty true, only being disappointed by my lack of green reading ability. I can see this putter to be more forgiving for most golfers.
Currently using the Cleveland Huntington Beach #1 blade putter. As a lefty, didn't have a choice, but wanted a simple blade putter and for $100, I love it!.
The LAB golf directed force putters are basically the perfect example of what this putter is trying to achieve.
Dunlop Black Hole BH3 with a DJ special Super Stroke traxion claw 1.0 grip... blue and grey.
Or, PING Pal 2 BeCu with a midsize PING branded Winn... Depends on the day.
I recently bought a scotty Cameron futura x after watching your most forgiving club video and I love it thanks for the recommendation to use golf bidder got a right bargain keep up the good work Pete 👊🏻
Will do Lee thanks for watching
Got an Axis1 Rose once they got released in the States. Love it. Took some practise to learn how to set up and use it but it was worth it.
$500 for the most used club in the bag!! A bargain if it works for you. Considering the new drivers are $800 in Australia and I use mine 8-10 times a round. I use an old odyssey 7. Love it.
I made my own putter just before lock down , i am now on mark three , quite pleased with it . My golf mates think its quite mad will send a photo if i can . You are sounding better keep well Pete
I’ve just changed from my odyssey works 2 ball fang to a odyssey o-works 1 W S putter loving the more traditional style and grip
I've been using the O works 1 W for 3 years and still love it 👍 great putter
I've been putting with my Scotty Cameron California Del Mar. I picked it up at GolfSmith after someone had just traded it in. The older gent had bought it new at the same place just 2 weeks prior. He didn't care for it. I lucked into a barely used Scotty for $175. =)
I absolutely LOVE it.
Currently rocking the new Scotty Cameron Newport 2. Love it!
I am playing a Odyssey White Ice #5 putter... My kids purchased this for me on Father's Day a few years ago and it's been one of my favorite putters that I have ever owned.
Rife Aruba - classic anser style with Guerin's pre Evnroll style grooves. Feels very good, great roll - worth a try the Rife Island series given their great value.
Hi Pete, I use a Gaim Golf putter, the first putter that they came out with! It has a tungsten composite head in a mallet configuration. It’s been in my bag for 11 years and really stays on line. They are still in business and have recently introduced a new model. I’m not changing! Yet!
Peter did you know theres actually an interesting reason to why one side the 'V' is longer when geese fly together..
That side has more geese on it
Zig!
One thing I really like about your videos sir is the honesty opinions you give us, many thanks.
I switched to the Odyssey Toulon "Austin" from the custom garage
Just bought a Scotty Cameron Fastback 1.5 as a birthday gift! Played couple rounds with it and I'm in love.
Based on all of the perks, I think I should add “Peter Finch Golf subscriber” to my job resume
😅💯
Just bought a Cleveland Frontline Elevado putter. Absolutely loving it so far, was having a hell of a time with a milled blade style putter.
As a high handicap golfer I can say the odyssey 2ball triple track has really improved my putting
Flipped back and forth all year with a Scotty futura x5 and an Evnroll er1. And the Nike method matter still holds a place in my heart and bag from time to time
I almost bathed in my cornflakes and I am intrigued 🥣
I went shopping for a new putter a while back. I tested the Odyssey Black Ten 34'' with the jumbo grip and sinked the first 7 test putts. Didn't even consider anything other after that and I've been loving it ever since!
When you click on your favourite golf RUclipsr and he has turned into Sir David Attenborough 😂😂
My hero
Peter Finch Golf I think you should switch putters do you can make rick Jealous
Hi Peter. I have been putting with a Ping B90 long putter. I have been putting with a long putter for 20 + years off and on. It did take a bit of time to learn to hold it away from my body after the USGA and R&A rule change. Love to see you do a long putter video.
I almost barfed in my cornflakes but I am intrigued
Pete is really out here making me think about giving up my scotty and do a custom fitting on a putter... You're a legend Pete!
Using a PXG Gunboat Gen 2 - all black head and shaft: haven't missed from 3 inches yet, so must be great :-)
Odyssey White Hot no1 25yrs old just love the feel. Only part of my kit I would not change. Keep it up PF
Peter Finch, Goose Expert
I have used a Yes Carolyne center shafter putter for almost 20 years....went yesterday to try the axis one rose putter. tried it for an hour among other putters and ended up liking and getting the mizuno m craft III. loved how it sat flat on the ground and the balance was unreal.
"The best looking people in the world" hahaha
Facts
Correct. Liked.
Reviews of the Axis putter brought me here- and I’ve gone ahead and bought an Axis with Black Cat grip to give my 1/500 Scotty some competition- and gone from the traditional grip to a Peter Finch style grip to keep the Axis on straight back to straight through path. Indoors it’s making the grade - waiting on -29*C to depart our local courses for a real go.
Can you please do a head to head between the scotty and this!!!!
Changed from Odyssey White Hot to a 2014 Scotty Cameron Newport Select off eBay in mint condition and I’m loving it.
Speaking of geese flying in formation: Do you know why one side of the "V" is always longer?.......there are more geese in that side. Hope that helps.
Big if true
😅🤦♂️
I'm using a taylormade Rossa suzuka. Just changed to a thicker grip. Have no plans to change as just love how it comes off the face and keeps its line so well.
I almost bathed in my cornflakes but I am intrigued
Good video Mr. Finch! The putter I'm currently rocking and for the rest of my life..........The Louisville Golf G'Day Putter made from indigenous Australian wood with a cork grip. It is pure butta!!!
anyone else wonders how many putters he might have xD?

I picked up a Ping G2 Tess and I love it. A putter with no guidelines has helped me stop overthinking and just make a good stroke on the ball.
I use a Hunting Beach Collection Cleveland putter 304SS, 345G, and i absolutely love it! helped my game a ton! the milled face helps so much!
I have been using and loving my Axis 1 putter since it was 1st introduced. I met the designer, Lois Pedroza, who.loaned me the prototype. I loved it. I still love it.. great puttet
Currently using a wilson staff infinate "bean" putter after I found out that I needed a balance face and not a toe weighted putter...not super expensive or flashy but I like it, its turned my 3 puts into 1-2 puts now.
Using a Spider X Blue for 18 months and its a great feel now I've taken the enormous grip off, Standard golf pride fitted now and I can feel the head, rolls a treat
In my garage is an Odyssey Tank #7, an old Rife blade, Scotty Newport 1.5, a Scotty Golo 6, an MD blade but I play with a 20 year old Never Compromise speed control 2 blade and it's lovely. Cheapest putter of the lot, but works a treat for me!
Interesting review. I just started using the L.A.B. Golf Directed Force 2.1 Putter after using a Cameron & Crown Futura 6M. Loved the Scotty but the LAB is a machine. So easy to line up, point and shoot and feels amazing. Love to see you review it at some point and get your impression. Great channel!
Okay, it’s one year later. Is the LAB still a machine? Or, is the honeymoon over? If you’re still loving it, I might have to do something. So far, no putter has gotten my attention. My 12 yr old Scotty can be deadly, but it can also miss 6 foot birdie putts. Very frustrating.
I used a Ping Vault ---Voss. It is an anser type putter.
My birthday is tomorrow and my brother and some friends got me an Odyssey 2 Ball Red Fang. Beautiful putter and feels fantastic on the green.
I had issues with my putting stroke until i purchased a LAB directed force putter.
Sinking putts for the first time in a long time. Granted it looks different & isn't cheap, its worth checking it out.
Love your videos mate keep it up.
I started using the Axis 1 TM Elite a few weeks ago. Distance control was much better than my Cameron Phantom 5.5 and I started sinking a fair number of 20 foot putts. Changed the grip to a reverse taper Golf Pride, which helped me a lot.
Scotty phantom x12... no other brand to use !!! Only problem is the price for putters nowadays but you always manage to find the money for quality.... keep up the great work Pete 👍
I've been using an EVNROLL ER2 for the last 2,5 years and i'm never changing, i absolutely love it!
Honestly rocking the putter that came with my strata clubs. Ever since I was a kid I have wanted a white hot odyssey. Always loved the look and feel off the face when messing about with them
I use a Scotty Cameron Studio Design 1.5. I’ve had it 17 years and still love it!
Great vid, I've been using a Ben Ross casino putter for 4 years now, I absolutely love it.
I still use an Odyssey White Hot #1. Purchased when it first came out. Still love the feel and still roll it as good as any other and don't think I will ever change. Love your channel and love your commentary.
I have been using a White Hot half mallet Odyssey that I picked up used for a tenner about 2 years ago. Still to this day it is one of my favorite putters.
I changed from a 2 ball white hot to a TM spider mini and I love it. It took my a bit to get used to the weight with my stroke. But now I have been nailed a lot of big putts and usually always hit my line and I do the straight back stroke. I think you really have to give this a go because I think it’s about performance rather name. I know I laughed at the fact I had to spend so much on my new putter.. but the performance and everything I’ve seen with it. Well worth it and I looked at buying it for over a year and just came coming back to it.
I bought a Ping Scottsdale Anser TR on E-bay 3 years ago for $20.00!!! Love it and not looking to change it any time soon.
Switched to a CAG blade putter this year and love it. It's been years since I've loved a putter. And it's only around 100 bucks.
Just picked up an Axis1 rose after trying one out for a laugh and fell in love.
The stability and accuracy is unmatched.
I wouldn’t suggest buying any club just on looks.
I started this season with an Odyssey Stroke Lab 7S, switched to the Evnroll ER2.2 with the gravity grip about 2 months ago, and I don’t see a putter change coming for a LONG time. I love that Evnroll ER2.2.
I used to have an Odyssey Versa Jailbird, and I putted lights out with it. However, I hated the looks of it for some reason. I got rid of it, and regretted it. I recently got fit for a Ping Heppler Floki, and oh baby! Best I’ve putted since the Jailbird. It won’t be leaving my bag for a long time.
So glad that you are back pete. I was worried.
Regarding likes and subscribes. You tube have taken away the option of liking. And subscribing to videos on TV. If most people are like me and watch the videos on TV because of the screen size. I and others like me can only like etc on my phone. Just an observation xxx
I got a putter fitting and ended up with a PXG (on sale thankfully) mini-gunboat. It has really improved my distance control On lag putts, I rarely 3 putt and I love the blackout look.
I went and got fitted for a putter in January and it was the best $$$ spent, they fit me for a face balanced and boy has it payed off. I was able to go to PGA SuperStore and find a putter in my price range that was face balanced and had them bend it to my specs and I am SO CONFIDENT with it, it is scary I feel the same way to where I'm hitting my line all the time. Oh I ended up going with a $99 dollar Tour Edge Alps and I LOVE IT.
I almost barfed in my corn flakes but I am intrigued. I think. Now I can watch it.
I was a 190 handicap before I watch this video. I’m now off 1. Thanks peter.
Now that’s the meaning of life
I’ll have two at £450
I use a Taylormade white smoke putter.
Funny thing is I bought it second hand on eBay and for realistically.... it's been ruined! The paint has been stripped off, it's now down to its base metal finish. It's got a very firm and sharp edged new grip and it looks like the facial insert has either been replaced or around it (when taking the paint off) hasn't been finished 100%. It also looks like the text and logo has been refilled/touched up to give it a more colorful look.
And... it's amazing. Very much like peter found with this new design I am keeping the face a lot straighter through impact and I'm no longer swinging the head in an almost figure 8. My putting has always been poor but this IMPROVED putter is helping me no end. I'm now judging distance better, I'm finding my line better. And holing more putts as a result.
Peter you’re describing actually feeling the Axis design (and LAB Reno) which work WITH the laws of physics (and LAB Reno too) by holding face alignment (during the stroke) to the initial point of aim.
I have been playing with a See More mallet. Been in the bag for 8 years. Just ordered a Honu 1. A center mass putter. Looking forward to putting it in play and seeing if it can save me some strokes on the putting green. By all accounts the feel and sound of this club is as good as it gets.
New golfer here and I just picked up the Taylormade Spider tour in Black and am loving it so far.
I always think that putters are a matter of confidence rather than design or expense. My mate putts with an ancient brass bladed, leather wrapped grip, hickory shafted putter which he has cut down to knee high. You don't want to putt against him for money, he's a magician with it!
I'm using a Wilson Staff Infinite north Side Putter and still don't need another one. Cheap but nice Handling nice feel and works for me 🤛🏼🤙🏻
I got a Newport select 2.
Absolutely adore it,favourite club in the bag
I seem to recall reading somewhere that Justin Rose did sign a deal with Axis Putters and that, despite his deal with Honma being reneged on, he continues to be on the payroll with Axis. I've never personally tried one, but I have seen them around at local shops and I never realized they were so expensive. I absolutely agree with you about the price: for that amount of money, it's not at all unreasonable to expect it to do and be everything you want a putter to be. I think that is true about most items one can purchase; your handbag analogy is most certainly accurate. It sounds to me that you really value some of the intangibles when it comes to selecting a putter; your selections in the past based purely on performance have left you a little wanting, despite whatever benefits they have offered (your Toe Up model, for example). That could be why Bettinardi and Scotty have gotten some good seat time in your bag over the last year. As always, another great video Mr. Finch. A good balance of discussion, showing us some putts, and you being you. Keep up the good work mate.
I use a Mickey Finn T-Bar M3 putter (there is an M2). Traded my Scotty for it back in 2006. Mickey Finn was an engineer and inventor who designed weapons for the US government. When he retired he started designing golf equipment as he liked golf . Unfortunately he died in 2007 and so did his brand. Love the club as the ball rolls instantly off the face no matter how hard you hit it, never jumps.
Hi Pete, great vid, my putter is a Scotty Cameron California Del Mar. Picked it up from your buddies at Golf Bidder and absolutely love it.
I had an Axis 1 "Joey", then went to an Evnroll ER2 and now have an Oddysey Stroke Lab black ten... they're all great putters... all different, all great... nice to be able to swop and change when I suck with one lol
I’ve been using a 33” lead tape covered YES golf Marilyn. It has a jumbo Rosemark grip and has been with me since 05 or 06.
I have been rocking a Musty Putter...for the longest time. It has been the only club that I haven't changed in my bag
My current putter is the Oddysey sabertooth from 2009.. which made an appearance on a golf bidder challenge with you and Rick, I bought it from golf bidder about 30secconds after I seen it and waited 8weeks for one to come into stock!
Truss TM2 putter, used it in the pro shop drained every putt and fell in love.
Scotty Special Select 2.5. changed to it this year and the feel of it has really helped my putting this year.
I'm playing a Cobra Perth II since about 20 years. I love the feel and consistency of the putt. If ever changing it better be another heavy putter with soft touch. Perhaps this putter is IT.
I went into our local shop and just started playing around with the 50+ putters on display. I knew nothing about Axis1 and the technology. I picked this one up and started rolling putts and everything just went in. I was amazed at how well I could aim it and how easy it was to hit my line. None of the others felt this good. It wasn’t until I started reading up on Axis1 later that I learned what made it different from all the others I tried. Now, I’m a relatively new golfer and haven’t spent years developing a putting stroke, so this type of putter makes so much sense to me. I wonder if those that have developed a stroke over years with a more traditional putter might find this difficult to switch too? I’m tempted to pull the trigger on one of these, but $450 is a lot.
I use the putter I bought in 2000. It's a simple odyssey black in colour with a soft insert. I have bought 3 others since but always return to the old putter.
Great video as always Pete.
I'm using the Ping G2i Craz-e putter with a super stroke grip. I used this putter as a junior and I loved it, only started playing again around 3 or 4 months ago and bought it for £57 from Golfbidder. By far my favourite putter I've used.
Wilson 8802 for the past 25 years; when I’m going through a rough patch, I sub in an older bullseye - this year I’m averaging 29 putts/round
I am still using the Acushnet blade (with aluminium shaft and leather grip) that my brother gave me in 1975. It has only been out of the bag a couple of times and only long enough for me to figure out that the putter wasn't the problem.
Newport 2.5. I just had a Stability Tour shaft installed. Looks and performs amazing!
I have recently changed from my Scotty to a Ping Heppler Piper C, it has transformed my putting.
That's a funky stick. But hey, if it works...
I am still gaming the Cameron original trillium.
Have we had our spouts? Of course we have. It's impossible to avoid a row given how long we've been together.
I always come back to that putter. The look, the lines, and it just feels so good striking that ball with the trillium insert and the ball springs off of it. You couldn't pay me enough for me to take it out of my bag. For any length of time.
Be well, wash your hands, keep your distance and don't forget your mask.
My putter is a RIFE IBF Aussie Tour Blade, in black, been using it for 7 years and it's not going anywhere, I think it finally knows me! :D
I have an Odyssey O-Works R Line with Superstroke Mid slim 2.0. Love it and would never switch. If I wasn’t happy with my putting, I would consider it. Looks like a nice putter and I understand the concept.
My current putter is the newly custom fitted Scotty Cameron Newport. Best feeling putter I've ever used and owned.
Taylormade Spider Tour Interactive Double Bend Blast 34" Putter BOX edition new in my bag for 2020- upgraded from an Odyssey 2-ball that I’ve had for 15 years.
