Too bad the Lotus wasn't back together for this one! But we did take it out a few months later, see that video here: ruclips.net/video/rb-NeY2Fbe0/видео.html
Just came across this video. Very cool. My question is I see a gear inside the front rotor on both vehicles. It this for antilock brakes or traction control?
The total cost of this was north of 100k - with a large majority of that being parts/the kit itself (and many were sponsored or discounted). Things start to add up pretty quickly!
@@TonyMaples Thank you Sir. I would never have thought. I guessed 50k for the whole thing...I do like you build though. Looks bad ass. Thanks for making the video.
@@popeyepanther4519 it definitely adds up fast! Wildwood brakes, Boze wheels and tires - around $10,000. Intake manifold and intercooler setup were close to 5k, the kit itself always costs $10-$15k more than the price quoted on the website once you get everything you really want along with it, plus shipping and taxes. Then of course all the expensive stuff like the engine, internals, gearbox, Holley Efi w/screen, etc etc. Glad you enjoyed the video, hopefully I can do some more on this one soon!!
It could be built to better withstand the elements, however the base kit would not do well in adverse conditions. FFR does have options for heat and AC, which we do install on most of our customer's builds.
Oh and up until just a few years ago no front plate in Texas was against the law, however there was no punishment assigned so no tickets. They recently changed, I can't remember what the fine is though. There's no real place for mine on the Lotus so I don't run one. When I do run one on the front, it blocks my radiator and I see coolant temps go up 10 to 150 degrees higher than usual so I just don't run it unless it's a long trip with lots of highway patrol
Auto enthusiast that choose not to mount their front plate just figure the fine is just part of the sport. On the 33 and 35 you could mount the plate behind the grill as low as possible yet still read the numbers and letters. The plate is attached to the front and visible enough to see that it is there. Now it’s a judgment call by the officer if it’s visible enough. Technically no, but you might just have an officer that is willing to accept your efforts.
They are very similar, personally I prefer the overall look/style of the Coupe a little bit more myself. But in person, the truck kits are really amazing too!
This has a 417 Motorsports water to air intercooler setup. It is sandwiched between the intake and the intake runners, with water lines running back underneath the bed of the truck to dual radiators. Thanks for watching 👊🏼
Personally I wouldn't run this particular build in the rain, not specifically because the lack of the hood, but the power it makes and the tires are a bad combination for driving in wet conditions. But to answer your question, a little rain wouldn't hurt anything in the engine bay.
It was a pretty slow speed course - the customer of the 35 wanted to learn as he's never done anything like this before, and we also needed to make some adjustments to the Coupe as we're taking it to race this weekend during the GoodGuys show at the Texas Motor Speedway!

How do they handle? I want to make one for autocross
that truck is bad ass
Thanks Phillip! We're really happy with the end product!
RIP Mr. Hatty
May I ask what the budget was for the Truck build, the engine looks awesome. I guess around 600bhp? Engine cost 15k + gearbox and transaxle 5k?

Are these vehicles good for snow, water proof, dust, heating, defrosters, air conditioning, battery & block heaters (for Sub zero weather)....??????

In Iowa zip ties are not a legal way to secure a licence plate, thus a fine.
No plate on the front is a $80 fine .
No zip tie rules like that here, just has to be attached in some way. And I believe for antique vehicles only a rear plate is required

What kit do you like better. The truck or coupe?

Cool man thanks
How did you intercool it is it up front?

Reese!!
could you daily drive this in the rain with no hood (like a week of raining days to work)

What is the average speed on this autoX layout?
