The way this song is so spiritual! Looking for your own haven! Looking for your identity! Searching for where things make sense to you! People may not understand what you are going through but that doesn't matter! Continue on your journey until you find that haven!!
My favourite Simphiwe era will forever be 2004-2010. She taught me so much about the road travelled by our forefathers for our freedoms, and just being proud in your Africaness. Zandisile was the first cd I ever bought, and refused to have a pirated copy. I am from Botswana 🇧🇼, the only Xhosa or Zulu I spoke (still to this day), I learnt from Generations and Isidingo by reading the English subtitles 😂. Back in the day, I worked out what some of her lyrics meant from my limited vocabulary. Thank goodness now for google translate I can fully comprehend and appreciate the lyricism, as well as the melody, the composition and her striking voice. After so many years, I am currently on self rediscovery journey after life happened and pursuing my passions with the same drive of the teenage me in the 2000s. I hope she too has found/can find this again. And I hope she has truly said goodbye to the pain as she sang in “Sarah”.
I'm from westside of Chicago. And have in love with this sister, songs. She is doing it, and I'm loving it. Such beautiful music she makes and sings. You go girl.
I have played this song over and over again. Just can't get enough of it. I like the dance moves. People in the video are so enjoying it. Well done Ms Dana. You are a star. Like that "inkwenkwezi" song of yours You shine in the dark.
This is what it means 2 me. Each person has a task of seeking thier true passions/goals or the true meaning of their existence. 'If you happen 2 meet me wandering around in an open space talking to myself as if im handicaped, u should know its beacuse im searching for the true meaning of my existence' , if i happen to pass by you and i dont greet u, U shuld know that....... She(Ms Dana-Luv her!!)also mentions it that the living in this world is a challenge -She wuld rather look as a mad person- Loner (iLolo) as long as she is searching for the true meaning of her existence.
my friend, i am a blackman who lost the own roots. My dream is go to Africa. Is go to the home... But i dont know anything about Africa and this make me a sad man. In what language she sings? He voice make happy and sad in a same time...
omg I luv her voice!!! found a new jazz artist to expose my jazz class too! This will be so unexpected in our listening session. will be a pleasure introducing her to them.
AGoodWomanDiji: thankyou so much for responding to my resquest,l really love this woman, i have the last two of her album.please as soon you can! anything! thankyou dear!!
I love you Simphiwe. Very respectable lady, always dresses modestly. Wow! The video is so good, for a change no half naked women. I'm tired of seeing videos of half naked women.
@wandilezulu , hey! can you please post her new album if you have one, really love her music!!! or anybody out there who has her albume, i'ii really appreciate it!
@yamkela16 I didn't come up with the concept nor did I direct and nor did I shoot it - post production is makinking the best of what someone else has done. But I completely agree with you - should've been twenty time better!
To say to people that 'isiXhosa kasitolikwa' and thingz like its impossible to translate 2 English is nonsense i sense some pride, and selfishness in it. I dont think its what Ms Dana wuld say 2 her fans. Muzik is art and it has a variety of meaningz 2 different ppl. Im no Xhosa speaker but i hv my own meaning of the song.

This Song evokes something spiritual within me that I cannot put into words ❤️❤️
Always been one of two favourites from her Kulture Noir album. "I'm a loner looking for my own kind of heaven" Hell!! So beautiful...
Xa uthi gqi ngam esigangeni
Isono sam kuk’ba lilolo
Xa uthi gqi ngam ndithetha ndedwa
Isono sam kuk’ba lilolo
Andizisoli noba bangathini
Xa uthi gqi ngam esigangeni
Isono sam kuk’ba lilolo
Ndikhangela igama lam (x2)
Ndifunda njalo, ndikhangele (x2)
Uze undixolele
Xa ndikudlul’ endleleni
Ngoba sendihamba kwesiny’ isitalato
Mhlab’ unzima (Kwesiny’ isitalato)
Kuphila kunzima (Kukhon’ okukokwam)
Ngoba sendihamba kwesiny’ isitalato
Xa intethw’ ingahlangani
Mhlawumbe ziyandiwela
Mhlawumbe nje ngeloxesha
Ndikwesiny’ isitalato
Ndiyakhangela
Ndikhangel’ igama qha
Ndikhangela isigqi
Esithetha kum
[Chorus]
Ndikhangela izulwana (x4)
Lilelam
