- Hello, friends! Welcome back to my channel One Blessed Mess for this Homeschool Space Tour! In this video, I'll show you around our homeschooling area for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. We originally schooled in a homeschool room, but after converting that into a bedroom for our youngest two kids, we have been working to make our dining area as efficient as possible for homeschooling.

If you are new here, hi and welcome! I'm Christie, and I'm a 2nd year homeschooling mom to 5 kids (ages 10, 9, 7, 2, and 8 months!) My husband and I pulled our kids out of public school, moved to our new house in the country, and haven't looked back! I agree about one table for the family! There are definitely distractions, but it always works out better for Mom! And I love having everyone around one table!
Yes I totally agree, also I have a basket with pencils, crayon, markers, paints, brushes, scissors, my kids share no problem even though they don’t with toys. Kids need to know everything they share especially in our family home. They all have enough supplies so they dint have to wait for someone else to finish but they learn to share the supplies in the middle of the table. Its way easier to keep tract of things and put away
I share one table (our dining room table) for all my three kids, they are very young and do a great job for sharing supplies, however they interrupt me while reading or talking to the other kids, so they have little mini flags I made with a stand when they need me they leave it up and I know and can see that they need me. It sounds silly but it really teaches them to not yell my name and interrupt also they learn to be patient. We do all this without raising hands, yelling, or even talking. If the little flag doesn’t go up that means they don’t need me at all

I love your setup! I dislike the all white desk look, or all white with pops of color. I love the warm tones of wood, and brown baskets and darker colors. Like it still looks like a home, not a laboratory.
"The body keeps the score" is probably one of the most interesting and one of my top 3 books I've ever read! So happy to see it on another Mama's shelf!
It is SO good!! I have to read it in small increments because of all the information packed into it!

When I looked at it I thought you would say you will be putting a set of 3 bookshelves where the cubes are like a wall flip.

Our homeschool area at the mo is smaller but wen we move will grow. I prefer the whole table. I have organised the space in an awesome way!!! I love the level 3 poetry book!!! I’m not reading that many books at the mo. I love how u displayed ur kids art work!!! Those storage look awesome!!! I love the idea.

You have such a pretty home! Your windows let in so much light. And I know that windows don't really have anything to do with organization and storage, I was just really noticing the lighting in this video.
Haha thank you!!! We wanted big windows when we built our house for that very reason!
I really like how simple you have this set up. We're considering doing individual desks soon to minimize distractions, but I definitely see what you mean with how being at one big table can make things easier too. We will see how it goes!

I love those bookcases. We JUST got some wardrobes from Ikea (and will build shelves in them) for our school things because I needed the clutter hidden haha. We don't have closets on our first floor. I might need to get those bins you have though. Love those

It had strange ways people get hurt in some really STRANGE places 😱 LOL The wire baskets were from Dollar General about 6ish years ago, I believe!
