    I do miss the snakes that my ex-husband and I had when our son was really little. We got the first one which was a snow corn, then a sinaloan milk snake, a male and female Brazilian Rainbow boas which the male was still a baby and the female was around 3 years old. And last but not least a hypo jungle Colombian red-tailed boa which was a baby as well.

    Rue's tank looks great!
    I'd recommend putting a piece of bark in her water so if any insects fall in they won't drown - you could use any spare cork to cover the humid hide (if it still bothers you lol)
    Rue is adorable! Seems like she's really enjoying her upgrade :)

    • @Emiology
      @Emiology  Год назад +4

      Yes I definitely need to do that! I’ve placed a big pebble in there because they started drowning but I’ll be on the lookout for a good bit of cork

    I have a question about rats so can anybody please answer it. I have 4 rats of my own and for the past few months I have seen people giving there rats hay to eat or hay to nest in. I even saw it in on a rat website. I'm pretty sure rats can't digest hay because they're stomach isn't made for it. What are your thoughts?

    • @Emiology
      @Emiology  Год назад +1

      Rats won’t eat much hay they mostly just use it as nesting material. If they do swallow some it’s not that they can’t digest it and it’ll sit in their stomach forever, rather will just come out the other end undigested

    • @spockezri
      @spockezri Год назад

      rats are good about knowing what they can and can't eat :) mine wouldn't try to eat their straw hut, for example, because they had things that were better for them to munch on (like their beloved cardboard LMAO).

    Hi! This is totally off topic but I need some help. So I have two female rats that are almost 2 years old. And all of the sudden their cage started stinking really bad, I just cleaned it 2 days ago and it already smells the way it should on cage cleaning day. I have a single critter nation cage, they are both litter trained, they eat oxbow adult rat food and I give them a green mush supplement. I use kiln dried, dust extracted cedar bedding that I’ve used forever. I also took all of the fleece out except a snuggle sack. If anyone has any tips, I could really use some! Thanks! Have a great day! 🐀

    • @NutterButterFly
      @NutterButterFly Год назад

      Cedar bedding is very bad, never ever use it, even if its kd and dust extracted « The wood is actually emitting aromatic hydrocarbons (phenols) and acids that act as natural pesticides. When mice and other rodents are exposed to cedar mulch, chips, or shavings, the toxic phenols are absorbed through the respiratory tract and enter the blood system, fatally damaging the liver. »
