hey, i´ve been into reggae and a reggae musician since the early 80s - we more than once had people from the audience who complained about the deep humming in the pa - we had to explain them, that it was a part of the music, called bass - back in those days people didn´t know to much about that sound, it kind of came with reggae - nowadays, due to techno and electronical music in general, bass is everywhere...
if you want bass galore, check this guy and turn his music up, haha...

I'm not a bass player, but've played with those who should've made a bird house out of their bass for eagles, hawks, pigeons, or ravens atleast a block from my house, bird crap is a Communist plot (Just joking, or I've eaten too many beans) to destroy the paint on our cars.. Me too Jim, some of my times preserved recently on DVDs. If you have 45 year old or older reels or cassettes, you'd be amazed what a good computer tech can recover & put on CDs, or even DVDs for you. To hear the young voices & playing then, now we're in our 60s, 70's, etc. Hope you have some reels or cassettes that you've protected. The oldest cassette I've had placed on a DVD was from 1969 of family members on Christmas Day.

And singers who dance don't make the music any more interesting for me. That goes for singers like Michael Jackson, too. And I might as well throw in all the other pop singers who employ choreographed "Solid Gold" dancers. They too, are merely eye-candy for the listeners.

i have been revisiting my old musical heroes during the recent years - since the 60s i have been going with the times and i still listen to mostly contemporaty music, even today, so, oldies means for me from 90s backwards - well, i mainly started this revisiting trip, because i wanted to show my son (17 now) at least some of the most important old artists - i must say, i was shocked to see how stubborn, conservative, ignorant and, yes, grumpy my peers and older are! embarrassing and sad... :-)
i especially love the passage at 4:54 where he goes into that ragtime groove, because in my youth in the 70s i played a lot of ragtime myself, haha - so your comment cheered me up, just as much as that fresh, cheerful feeling from the music - thank you so much, you made my day... :-)
