She did go to heaven and find Francis... at least that's what the writers were trying to convey. That after all the fighting and all the good she tried to do, that as her life ended and went black she awoke to her final home with the man she truly loved and was her soul mate. Whether you believe in heaven or not is irrelevant to what the show was trying to show us. She got to live in eternal happiness with her husband which was probably the only decent and redeeming part of Reign since Francis died.
I was disappointed to see so many storylines not wrapped up even if there was little time. I dislike that Claude ended up alone... I was rooting for Leith but seeing as he married and forgot about Claude I was also rooting for Luc who was totally a good guy. I wanted to see what happened to Greer and hoped she and Leith would find each other if she didn't end up with James otherwise their whole storyline together was pointless. Leiths whole storyline in general is pointless if he didn't end up with either of the girls. I really wish they hadn't killed Lola seeing as she wasn't even historically one of her ladies... it was unnecessary. I understand the drama they wanted to achieve by it but they would have done better with Narcisse and her drama in him over coming his bad morals to keep her. Or watch her leave and find happiness with someone. Gideon still could have been taken out if that was super necessary for the English drama but I don't think it was.
I will miss this show. One of the best in tv. Better than Jane the boring. When she died she went to heaven relieving her life including her joy with her husband Francis.

Daniella Amorim Considering this show is based on real life events, Mary was always gonna die, just like Francis had to be killed in S3. When you read the actual events you feel nothing but the depressive reality life is all about. I was preparing for the worst but so far the ending was marvelous. It wasn't about her death, it was about her meeting Francis and finally being with him for eternity. Gonna miss this show, one of the best ever.

For those who are upset about the sudden snap in the last episode... it's because the show was cancelled maybe because of low viewership after Francis death...I agree there could be a whole complete season..there was so much history skipped..so much more of Mary's struggles and suffering...but still the last few minutes of the last episode were such precious gift for the fans😭😍🥺✨🌼

the exception Totally agree, Some people complain about the wardrobe because it is modern style but I say that gives it a nice touch. They can not expect the series to be totally alike. Should focus on the performance of the protagonist, the places, the script and there they could see that this is a good serie. I get about history, but okay he didn't even have a kid in real life, but they changed that in the show. They could have adjusted a bit. They were too much with the decision to kill him off. If he was still live, there would have still been more seasons. Many stopped watching when he died.
Absolutely love the writers for the mary/francis reunion in heaven. When she first sees him there it is so beautiful! The only endgame couple in reign! I wish, however, that they had better wrapped up some of the other relationships and stories. I guess there just wasn't time.
Thank you for this. It truly is a wonderful tribute, and this song doesn't shy away from the death but it also highlights the connections that are made and the family. I loved the Frary reunion at the end, but I felt that the finale was super rushed and was hard to follow. When Mary's grown up son refused to help save her, and she heard the news right before her execution, that is when I absolutely lost all composure. I cried so hard. But really what happened to Catherine, Claude, Greer, James-Mary's half brother, Henri and Charles, Luc and Narcisse. And i refuse to believe that Emmanuelle is pregnant with Narcisse's child. The threesome was unnecessary in my opinion, but it showed how desperate Catherine was and the punishment she will now have to deal with. My poor babies. I am going to write my own alternative ending to assuage my pain. You captured the essence of this show, and I am super thankful. Long May They Reign.
Starseeker Erica funny you wrote your ending, I did something similar.. I've began writing a series of stories surrounding the Stuart's but it's completely inaccurate to history. In fact, the kings and queens are made up, but it helps to immerse me back into the world or reign..
You can tell they made the right decision with this series because people wish it had more seasons. Too many shows go on longer than they ought. When you leave an audience yearning for more, wishing it could go on, but don't bludgeon it to death for money, you know you've done the right thing. Art leaves people searching for more beauty, more creativity, and it gives people an appreciation for the wonderful and amazing things in this world. And, some of this story was also true, the most heartbreaking parts, which is why it had to end and end this way.
This is so stunningly made, I always get too emotionally invested in characters and I relived every emotion I have felt whilst watching this and actually had a tear trickle down my cheek. Can't believe it's actually over. ❤️👑❤️

i miss reign so much already but at least francis and mary got to be together at the end even though i couldn't stop crying when they were together in heaven. every single time i watch this i can't stop myself from crying. i remember how excited i would be for new episodes to go on the CW app so i could watch them and now i don't have that to look forward to anymore. my heart has been broken into very small peices and i can't stop crying but at least they got to be happy together at the end with no more pain and suffereing. long may they reign.

Staffel noch nicht gesehen haben bei der 3ten Staffel habe ich glaub bei keiner Folge nicht geweint! Als Francis ihr die Nachricht überbracht hat, dass er sterben wird und sie nur weinend in seinem Armen lag und geweint hat... (fand hier sogar die deutsche Synrco besser wie das Original! Das Weinen war viel emotionaler meiner Meinung nach) Dann als nächstes, als die beiden den "Stay with me-Tanz" hatten... ich muss sagen: Ich bin GESTORBEN! habe glaub ich noch nie sooo krass bei einem Tanz geheult, auch wenn Naciss seine Anmache mitten im Tanz es ein wenig ruiniert hat xD Francis erster scheintot und dann sein richtiger Tod waren furchtbar! Habe die Macher der Serie gehasst, dass sie uns das angetan haben xD Aber ich glaube am meisten habe ich fast schon geheult, als Mary und Catherine auf dem Bett saßen und über Francis geredet haben und Catherine, die über all die Staffeln mit Mary einen "Macht-Kampf" ausgetragen hat und sie sogar versucht hat zu töten, um ihren Sohn zu retten, Mary getröstet hat und Mary dann meinte "Aber Ich habe ihn geliebt! Er ist fort und ich habe ihn geliebt!" Jetzt ohne Witz: Ich heule JEDESMAL wenn ich das sehe! Ich fand das auch perfekt gemacht von der Serie! Francis tod war schon, glaub ich, 2 Folgen her und die meisten Serien wären schon über ihn hinweg und erwähnen ihn kaum noch, aber Reign hat es genau richtig gemacht! Wenn man 2/3 Staffeln dieses Paar durch Himmel und Hölle gehen sieht kann man nichts anderes tun als heulen! Allerdings muss ich zugeben, dass ich die 4. Staffel nicht "richtig" gesehen habe... habe paar Folgen gesehen und das Finale aber ich konnte mir nicht geben, wie eine so starke Frau wie Mary in dieser Staffel so ziemlich alles verliert und von ihren Feinden geschlagen wird! Ich liebe Reign so verdammt krass! I swear the writers tied up all the lose ends with something TRAGIC. Bash's ending? Dead. Kenna? pregnant and abandoned by Bash. Greer? left by Castleroy. Luc and Claude and Leith....that was a complete mess and I felt bad for them all. cmon writers! why'd you have to rip out our hearts like that!

...Reign...Where do I even begin? i watched it with hopes to elaborate my knowledge on the Valois Period in France and of Queen Mary of Scotland's life, but instead I received a tear-jerker that isn't historically accurate...but still! Reign has been part of my life just as GoT and OUAT have been, and watching two of my three favorite shows fall down at almost the same time isn't fun. It's true Emma Swan won't be present in Season 7 anymore and that Reign ended, and it just made my life a little bit more dull. This show is one of the best there is and I would proudly board the Frary ship one more time and sink with it in the depths of dispair.

I'm so happy that I found this on Netflix. On another note this song keeps coming back to my memory I had to play it again.

Falling in love with the show made me fall in love with medieval times. I love you, Reign. Every part. 💙 I won't ever forget you. I think the fall of Reign just began when Francis died. I get about history, but okay he didn't even have a kid in real life, but they changed that in the show. They could have adjusted a bit. They were too much with the decision to kill him off. If he was still live, there would have still been more seasons. Many stopped watching when he died.
The series finale was heartbreaking. Wish they would have a spin off focusing on Elizabeth.

Absolutely love the writers for the mary/francis reunion in heaven. When she first sees him there it is so beautiful! The only endgame couple in reign! I wish, however, that they had better wrapped up some of the other relationships and stories. I guess there just wasn't time.

Thank you for this. It truly is a wonderful tribute, and this song doesn't shy away from the death but it also highlights the connections that are made and the family. I loved the Frary reunion at the end, but I felt that the finale was super rushed and was hard to follow. When Mary's grown up son refused to help save her, and she heard the news right before her execution, that is when I absolutely lost all composure. I cried so hard. But really what happened to Catherine, Claude, Greer, James-Mary's half brother, Henri and Charles, Luc and Narcisse. And i refuse to believe that Emmanuelle is pregnant with Narcisse's child. The threesome was unnecessary in my opinion, but it showed how desperate Catherine was and the punishment she will now have to deal with. My poor babies. I am going to write my own alternative ending to assuage my pain. You captured the essence of this show, and I am super thankful. Long May They Reign.
Starseeker Erica funny you wrote your ending, I did something similar.. I've began writing a series of stories surrounding the Stuart's but it's completely inaccurate to history. In fact, the kings and queens are made up, but it helps to immerse me back into the world or reign..

You can tell they made the right decision with this series because people wish it had more seasons. Too many shows go on longer than they ought. When you leave an audience yearning for more, wishing it could go on, but don't bludgeon it to death for money, you know you've done the right thing. Art leaves people searching for more beauty, more creativity, and it gives people an appreciation for the wonderful and amazing things in this world. And, some of this story was also true, the most heartbreaking parts, which is why it had to end and end this way.
This is so stunningly made, I always get too emotionally invested in characters and I relived every emotion I have felt whilst watching this and actually had a tear trickle down my cheek. Can't believe it's actually over. ❤️👑❤️

i miss reign so much already but at least francis and mary got to be together at the end even though i couldn't stop crying when they were together in heaven. every single time i watch this i can't stop myself from crying. i remember how excited i would be for new episodes to go on the CW app so i could watch them and now i don't have that to look forward to anymore. my heart has been broken into very small peices and i can't stop crying but at least they got to be happy together at the end with no more pain and suffereing. long may they reign.

Und jetzt eine kleine !!!SPOILER WARNUNG!!!! an alle die die 3. Staffel noch nicht gesehen haben
bei der 3ten Staffel habe ich glaub bei keiner Folge nicht geweint! Als Francis ihr die Nachricht überbracht hat, dass er sterben wird und sie nur weinend in seinem Armen lag und geweint hat... (fand hier sogar die deutsche Synrco besser wie das Original! Das Weinen war viel emotionaler meiner Meinung nach) Dann als nächstes, als die beiden den "Stay with me-Tanz" hatten... ich muss sagen: Ich bin GESTORBEN! habe glaub ich noch nie sooo krass bei einem Tanz geheult, auch wenn Naciss seine Anmache mitten im Tanz es ein wenig ruiniert hat xD
Francis erster scheintot und dann sein richtiger Tod waren furchtbar! Habe die Macher der Serie gehasst, dass sie uns das angetan haben xD
Aber ich glaube am meisten habe ich fast schon geheult, als Mary und Catherine auf dem Bett saßen und über Francis geredet haben und Catherine, die über all die Staffeln mit Mary einen "Macht-Kampf" ausgetragen hat und sie sogar versucht hat zu töten, um ihren Sohn zu retten, Mary getröstet hat und Mary dann meinte "Aber Ich habe ihn geliebt! Er ist fort und ich habe ihn geliebt!" Jetzt ohne Witz: Ich heule JEDESMAL wenn ich das sehe! Ich fand das auch perfekt gemacht von der Serie! Francis tod war schon, glaub ich, 2 Folgen her und die meisten Serien wären schon über ihn hinweg und erwähnen ihn kaum noch, aber Reign hat es genau richtig gemacht! Wenn man 2/3 Staffeln dieses Paar durch Himmel und Hölle gehen sieht kann man nichts anderes tun als heulen! Allerdings muss ich zugeben, dass ich die 4. Staffel nicht "richtig" gesehen habe... habe paar Folgen gesehen und das Finale aber ich konnte mir nicht geben, wie eine so starke Frau wie Mary in dieser Staffel so ziemlich alles verliert und von ihren Feinden geschlagen wird!
Ich liebe Reign so verdammt krass! Ich habe sie vor ungefähr 2 Jahren durch meine lieblingsserie "Game of Thrones" gefunden, als ich auf RUclips Videos von "Lyanna und Rhagear" geschaut habe und Mary und Francis die beiden "verköpert" haben. dadurch wurde ich neugierig und jetzt ist sie mein zweit lieblingsserie!
Ich schreibe zwar etwas spät , aber ich musste auch voll oft heulen. Ich habe mir leider den Tod von Francis gespoilert , und immer wenn Szenen von Francis und Mary vorkamen ( sogar schöne) musste ich schon voll heulen😂❤
Ich schaue die Serie gerade und ich verstehe dich so gut. Ich weine eigentlich die ganze Zeit 😭. Auch ich habe die Macher schon mehrere Male verflucht😅, aber sie müssen eben auf den historischen Grundlagen bleiben. Es ist so eine traurige Geschichte 😭😭😭. Mary und Francis hätten ein viel besseres Leben verdient. Sie hätten länger zusammen leben und viele Kinder haben sollen. Es war so unfair 😥

...Reign...Where do I even begin? i watched it with hopes to elaborate my knowledge on the Valois Period in France and of Queen Mary of Scotland's life, but instead I received a tear-jerker that isn't historically accurate...but still! Reign has been part of my life just as GoT and OUAT have been, and watching two of my three favorite shows fall down at almost the same time isn't fun. It's true Emma Swan won't be present in Season 7 anymore and that Reign ended, and it just made my life a little bit more dull. This show is one of the best there is and I would proudly board the Frary ship one more time and sink with it in the depths of dispair.
