I mostly use this thing as a mobile fuel station for nasty terrain, especially for the very same reason you mentioned: it has the bonus that it can help other trucks get through said nasty terrain.
Yeah I think that’s one way this truck really shines! There’s not really anywhere it can’t deliver fuel and it’s very good on the insane parts of the map that stop most trucks! Definitely a keeper I think 👍🏻
The red item in the cab is not an ice scraper it is an emergency glass hammer. Two hard sharp metal points on the head will smash open the glass in the cab for emergency exit. Most trucks and all passenger carrying vehicles in the UK and Europe normally require them to be fitted. I have one in my cab fortunately I never had to use it so far. :)
I was very excited to get this truck. The steering annoyed me so much the first time I drove it, that I sold it immediatelly. Since than it saved me hours of frustration when I towed out the Derry Longhorn with it. Definitely useful, but very situational.

But here and there for that 2% it’s got some serious pulling power that can save you a lot of time and aggravation in the tricky spots and missions! Exactly, like the Derry lol I used this too to get that out down the river! Done in minutes! The steering isn’t great but after a while you get used to turning a bit early ready for the next corner etc! I like it but I don’t love it, but I don’t want to sell it either! Really didn’t like that Antarctic, sold that back straight away, it’s steering felt twitchy and horrible compared to this!
It’s Mr Lone Wolf I haven’t reached the rank to try the Antarctic, but I don’t feel the rush after the CAT. I understand completely why you or anyone else would keep the CAT in the garage but what I do is basically always keep the necessary amount of money on my account to buy it for a rescue mission. It gives me more flexibility in terms of finances, but in need I can always just buy it back. This is why I adore the fact that you don’t lose money on buying and selling equipment and trucks.

It’s so fair this way and fun because you can try what you like and there’s no risk of being stuck with it or have to take a massive loss! It’s been made for gamers, not to fleece gamers! Sadly rare to see these days!

Another great video. I use the CAT to refuel trucks that are out where most trucks can’t get to with fuel easily. I watch SDOne as well, actually saw his video last night that he gave you a shout on. Keep up the content👍

Yeah exactly stuff like that it’s perfect because it’s not as useful for regular stuff meaning it’s always there and available to be the fuel truck or just sit it around a tricky area and when the time comes it can pull some serious weight through some very tricky parts of the map! Yeah I’ve watched him since before I ever made a video! His mud runner videos were life savers back in the day! I even watch his GTA 5 stuff even though I don’t play that online! I wasn't too excited to get this, i was able to pull this to the sawmill with the smaller cousin, the CT 680, and wanted to sell it, but it soon proofed itself with the devils mud on northport when i did that mission to take a oil rig salvage trailer from the servicesite, i used a P12 for the trailer itself and the big cat for the devils mud, went thru like a champ, and that with only the second engine and the stock gearbox.
Haha the devils mud lol 😂 I know the exact place you mean! That mud is a bloody nightmare lol! That mission with that massive trailer was a pain! I had this cat too, did it with the Navistar but the cat was helping most of the way! I struggled in that mud a bit back then but I stupidly drove down the centre that time as it was my first experience there! Now I’d do the edge and I’m sure I’d have had better luck! Plus to be fair this still got me through when nothing else I owned at the time would have! It’s very situational but here and there it has its moments where it shines and is the perfect helper! I don’t love it but I like it a fair bit and i really wouldn’t want to sell it!
Renault 75-34 MX oh did you, yeah after playing around today for the footage I think those top tyres would be better! The ones I had are too smooth I think! That probably made a difference too as I imagine the P12 would cope better than the Navistar, and i didn’t even have that fully upgraded too so I went pretty unprepared lol but the CAT did get me through and done!
I've driven this for work. It's great fun the first couple of hours, but like everything else ,it turns into work after a bit. Still fun going thru over 1m of mud with 40t on your back!!!!!😎

I used it for decoration. It's outside on an equipment trailer hooked to a CAT CT680 at smithville dam. By the way could you review the CT680 it's possibly my favorite semi. It's so fast, and does quite well with upgrades. I've not seen a review on it yet but I'd nearly argue it's the fastest truck in game.

Yeah I will get around to that pretty soon dude, I’m doing the findable stuff first but they’re nearly done and then I’ll do the purchasable trucks and I had a go in that CT680 for the container contest testing and I really liked it! Didn’t do much besides that but yeah it’s power was great and I could easily see it being my favourite semi truck at least! It might even be better than the Navistar, I might even buy it back later and see what it can do 👍🏻! It’s certainly up there as one of the fastest no doubt! It lost a bit of time on my container tests due to no diffs always on but that’s a particularly boggy route! in a straight line it’s rapid!
Christine yeah true it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s got the edge by a tiny bit, the royal is insanely fast! Off the cliffs at the end of the runway it gets some great air! I just can’t stop crashing it and rolling lol most likely because it is so fast!
Yeah the lil CAT is a monster. Awesome hauler, though it does struggle with the big semis that require a high saddle. It takes suspension damage fairly easy too, but beyond that, its really good. it’s one of my most used trucks. I actually sold it once I unlocked the Tayga but I kept coming back to the CAT for its speed and better fuel efficiency. The fact that it has switchable diff lock and AWD makes it a lot more engaging to drive (yeah, I actually use that as a criteria for keeping a truck or not :v. I tend to gravitate towards the switchable ones). If it had proper mud tires it would be borderline OP.
So glad I found your video, I was so excited about this, but with the limited frame attachment was disappointed and am only using it as a fuel cart and unstucker, now I’ll use it for cargo - so excited. I find it easier to drive in cab, except for the driver flailing his arms, baller watch, and gangster gold ring around. Thanks for the vid.

But yeah it’s a great fuel laden unsticker in the awkward parts 👍🏻! And for 2 cargo it’s going to get basically everywhere at it’s slower but steady pace! Haha loads of people mention the drivers arms haha it’s “driving” a lot of people mad lol! Personally it doesn’t bother me but I fully get how some random little thing can irritate people sometimes! Its a shame they have changed the back to only take containers now, so it literally is now a tow/ fuel carrier, because container missions are not exactly common place,

Good review. Fun to watch. As usual. I'm not sure if it ties in with your future uploads, but I'd really like watching a video where you talk about the shifting part of the game. You seem to change them gears quite often. Probably share some tipps and tricks?! I believe I'm not the only one who would welcome this kind of info. 🙂
Thanks man I’m glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻! Haha yeah I tap them almost too much now lol! I did mention them in my first tips video called something like tips essential to help you get ahead! But basically dude if you tap the L1 button on PS4 (the one you hold down to change gears or put diffs on etc) it changes your auto gear box into basically the most appropriate gear, so when setting off you can jump it from 1st to like 3rd and then maybe even 5th etc and you set off a lot quicker, it also works the other way so you know how the auto box has that annoying habit of touching mud, and dropping from like 7th gear all the way to 1st and stops you for a second, if you tap L1 as you enter the mud, it will jump your auto box down to say 3rd or something more appropriate for the conditions and you won’t lose all your momentum! As I say I do it so often now I don’t even notice lol I press it like a mad man all the time! But I’m more than happy to mention it again in a future video too 👍🏻
Yeah that’s true dude exactly! We don’t know what’s to come but I kinda imagine/hope they’re even more difficult maps in parts and this thing will certainly start to shine even more 👍🏻

Yeah good for you man I like to try everything if I can! To be honest I’m not sure I’ve delivered any cargo but winched some loaded trucks along to the destination! I also scouted the whole of white valley with this beast and I have to say it did bloody great lol! Yeah sometimes I’d rather cruise slowly but at a constant pace, than stop start stop start! Some rough roads I actually don’t think there’d be anything faster! And it’s not that slow I definitely think it’s quicker than some things limited to the advanced special gearbox!
@@itsmrlonewolf I bought two of them and ran cargo missions with them together. Its just so much less stressful and feels like a stroll through the park. I also designated it my go to recovery vehicle. I rescued the Derry Longhorn in Alaska with the CAT by dragging it backwards through the river behind it instead of going up the hill. One of my favorite vehicles honestly. Way better than the Azov 42-20 in my book.

Sadly I didn’t use this as much as I could have, knowing what I know now there’s loads of times it would have helped!
The cat is next to perfect. It plows through mud and snow like they're nothing (I don't play the game but I do watch reviews the players seems to always compliment this beast). It's just missing an snorkel (btw love the review)
Snorkel, trailer hitch, ice chains/studs on at least two axles (as an option for when ice really becomes a problem (9:41)). Even if they were later game upgrades, it just needs them, though mainly the !!trailer hitch!!! :D
And if they wanted to limit the cargo carrying capacity, maybe they could only let it have sideboard bed /repair and fuel trailers. (The trailer hitch should still be usable with the two body addons it has)
One thing I want to add. When see you a stump. Don't worry. It just runs right over them. Edit: well I spoke to early. You mentioned. So never mind what I said. Nice video as always. Stay safe and healthy.
Yeah it goes over stumps way better than most vehicles! To be honest I’ve still caught 1 or 2 stumps but I’d say a good 90% at least it just goes straight over! Every other vehicle makes it over around 0% lol so it’s a massive improvement and just another way it makes life easier that some people won’t notice before parking it up for life! I mainly use this thing to refuel/rescue other trucks. Its a shame that we can't tow a trailer like azov 4220 did and those 71" wheels aren't a joke in muddy/snowy area 😂
The best thing to use the cat for is (Like @Shizanketsuga said) is a mobile fuel station. But! You have to do everything slow and steady! Ive tried using auto or high for mud and i got stuck. So just use low - for rough terrain.

Christine yeah I tested it on the route to the tuz 420 and it goes down there like it’s a paved road! In fact I’d say it prefers deep mud over paved roads lol! That would certainly help too but mud seems to be her natural habitat lol!
these are my keybinds for gearbox ;d, the good thing is, on num pad, it is easy to immitate the shape of the gearbox in game ;d, so visually its easy to remember ;d 7 - low +; 8 - high 4 - low; 5 - auto; 6 - neutral 1 - low -; 2 - reverse hope this helps someone ;d hehe, helped me a lot ;d, its so much simple for me now ;d

@@itsmrlonewolf So far the CAT 745C, the P12, Kodiak and Zilk (or however you spell it, Russian truck that starts with Z) I have done for fuel. GMC, Transtar and CLT9000 (basically all the 2WD's) I have done up for repair. Azov 8X8 I have a big yellow crane attached to. Most of my 6X6's are done up with flatbeds, only exception is the Royal which has the oil drilling thingy on it. Navistar I use for hauling trailers. Really got no use for the Derry Longhorn or P16.
Justin Lynch yeah I didnt even use all my trucks for basically all of my playthrough! My white western star is my crane truck! The Navistar did most of the hauling! the CAT here and there for odd things, and then the Tayga nearer the end really! And the scouts I didn’t even use the GMC past that first mission! Or the transtar! The Tayga was my oil vibrator thing or whatever it’s called lol! On another play through id definitely mix and match it more than I did the first time!

Yeah good thinking man I wish I had too but I thought of it too late lol! It’s perfect for that sort of thing though, there’s usually a spot on each map that is a nightmare for almost every other truck, but this can just walk it without much hassle! Amazing pulling power too!

In my defence the screen is tiny when I’m recording audio and I just seen it for a second and said it off the top of my head, I honestly thought it was lol, here in the U.K. just about every car has a little red ice scraper somewhere in the glove box lol! However on a side note, I’m amazed it’s a little emergency glass breaking hammer! Here in the U.K. even the mini diggers I believe have to have toughened glass and the bigger diggers and plant machinery etc has to have basically bullet proof windows so if any rocks etc fall and hit it then the driver will be fine! So over here i reckon you’d be a lot more likely to find a little ice scraper for the winter over a hammer as you’d never hammer out of a big digger or trucks window lol! They’re made to stop a boulder coming through or an iron girder etc lol! Not on road trucks but stuff that might be working around building sites or quarry’s etc has to! My old boss got fined £25k because he didn’t have toughened glass on his digger, then days after getting the glass he knocked a house down and a wall fell on the cab and the windows were fine so he’s lucky he did lol 👍🏻

What do you mean please dude? Do you mean bugs? If so I’m not sure but I have noticed the clipping cargo bug has gone (for me at least) and I didn’t see a proper update so they seem to be fixing things with behind the scenes patches so hopefully not long

Turning AWD off on road prevents the back from overturning causing understeer as it's FWD standard it'll pull the back a long fine once up to speed.

I used this to drag the Kahn loaf and the loaf just kept rolling and was on its roof more than it’s wheels and the cat didn’t care at all.
Haha yeah I bet this beast didn’t even notice it was pulling the Loaf! It’s stuff like brute force towing other vehicles where there isn’t a lot that can match this 👍🏻!
Another great video. I use the CAT to refuel trucks that are out where most trucks can’t get to with fuel easily. I watch SDOne as well, actually saw his video last night that he gave you a shout on. Keep up the content👍

Yeah exactly stuff like that it’s perfect because it’s not as useful for regular stuff meaning it’s always there and available to be the fuel truck or just sit it around a tricky area and when the time comes it can pull some serious weight through some very tricky parts of the map!
Yeah I’ve watched him since before I ever made a video! His mud runner videos were life savers back in the day! I even watch his GTA 5 stuff even though I don’t play that online! Very interesting I thought, I know which one I’d rather have now! But yeah there’s loads of other videos he does comparing all kinds of different vehicles in this game and how they stack up next to their main competitor basically and it’s surprising sometimes which vehicle seems to come out on top! I wasn't too excited to get this, i was able to pull this to the sawmill with the smaller cousin, the CT 680, and wanted to sell it, but it soon proofed itself with the devils mud on northport when i did that mission to take a oil rig salvage trailer from the servicesite, i used a P12 for the trailer itself and the big cat for the devils mud, went thru like a champ, and that with only the second engine and the stock gearbox.
Haha the devils mud lol 😂 I know the exact place you mean! That mud is a bloody nightmare lol! That mission with that massive trailer was a pain! I had this cat too, did it with the Navistar but the cat was helping most of the way! I struggled in that mud a bit back then but I stupidly drove down the centre that time as it was my first experience there! Now I’d do the edge and I’m sure I’d have had better luck! Plus to be fair this still got me through when nothing else I owned at the time would have! It’s very situational but here and there it has its moments where it shines and is the perfect helper! I don’t love it but I like it a fair bit and i really wouldn’t want to sell it!
It’s Mr Lone Wolf i went thru the middle tho, but i hade the fuel tanker and the first tire option mounted, and mud tires on the p12 as well, i think
Renault 75-34 MX oh did you, yeah after playing around today for the footage I think those top tyres would be better! The ones I had are too smooth I think! That probably made a difference too as I imagine the P12 would cope better than the Navistar, and i didn’t even have that fully upgraded too so I went pretty unprepared lol but the CAT did get me through and done!
Any time I need to haul a trailer I use the Navistar. It never fails you.

I've driven this for work. It's great fun the first couple of hours, but like everything else ,it turns into work after a bit. Still fun going thru over 1m of mud with 40t on your back!!!!!😎

I used it for decoration. It's outside on an equipment trailer hooked to a CAT CT680 at smithville dam. By the way could you review the CT680 it's possibly my favorite semi. It's so fast, and does quite well with upgrades. I've not seen a review on it yet but I'd nearly argue it's the fastest truck in game.

Yeah I will get around to that pretty soon dude, I’m doing the findable stuff first but they’re nearly done and then I’ll do the purchasable trucks and I had a go in that CT680 for the container contest testing and I really liked it! Didn’t do much besides that but yeah it’s power was great and I could easily see it being my favourite semi truck at least! It might even be better than the Navistar, I might even buy it back later and see what it can do 👍🏻! It’s certainly up there as one of the fastest no doubt! It lost a bit of time on my container tests due to no diffs always on but that’s a particularly boggy route! in a straight line it’s rapid!
Christine yeah true it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s got the edge by a tiny bit, the royal is insanely fast! Off the cliffs at the end of the runway it gets some great air! I just can’t stop crashing it and rolling lol most likely because it is so fast!
Yeah the lil CAT is a monster. Awesome hauler, though it does struggle with the big semis that require a high saddle. It takes suspension damage fairly easy too, but beyond that, its really good. it’s one of my most used trucks. I actually sold it once I unlocked the Tayga but I kept coming back to the CAT for its speed and better fuel efficiency. The fact that it has switchable diff lock and AWD makes it a lot more engaging to drive (yeah, I actually use that as a criteria for keeping a truck or not :v. I tend to gravitate towards the switchable ones). If it had proper mud tires it would be borderline OP.
So glad I found your video, I was so excited about this, but with the limited frame attachment was disappointed and am only using it as a fuel cart and unstucker, now I’ll use it for cargo - so excited. I find it easier to drive in cab, except for the driver flailing his arms, baller watch, and gangster gold ring around. Thanks for the vid.

Its a shame they have changed the back to only take containers now, so it literally is now a tow/ fuel carrier, because container missions are not exactly common place,

Thanks man I’m glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻! Haha yeah I tap them almost too much now lol! I did mention them in my first tips video called something like tips essential to help you get ahead! But basically dude if you tap the L1 button on PS4 (the one you hold down to change gears or put diffs on etc) it changes your auto gear box into basically the most appropriate gear, so when setting off you can jump it from 1st to like 3rd and then maybe even 5th etc and you set off a lot quicker, it also works the other way so you know how the auto box has that annoying habit of touching mud, and dropping from like 7th gear all the way to 1st and stops you for a second, if you tap L1 as you enter the mud, it will jump your auto box down to say 3rd or something more appropriate for the conditions and you won’t lose all your momentum! As I say I do it so often now I don’t even notice lol I press it like a mad man all the time! But I’m more than happy to mention it again in a future video too 👍🏻

I've used the CAT for cargo just because I can. Its slow but it casually handles rough terrain.
Yeah good for you man I like to try everything if I can! To be honest I’m not sure I’ve delivered any cargo but winched some loaded trucks along to the destination! I also scouted the whole of white valley with this beast and I have to say it did bloody great lol! Yeah sometimes I’d rather cruise slowly but at a constant pace, than stop start stop start! Some rough roads I actually don’t think there’d be anything faster! And it’s not that slow I definitely think it’s quicker than some things limited to the advanced special gearbox!
@@itsmrlonewolf I bought two of them and ran cargo missions with them together. Its just so much less stressful and feels like a stroll through the park. I also designated it my go to recovery vehicle. I rescued the Derry Longhorn in Alaska with the CAT by dragging it backwards through the river behind it instead of going up the hill. One of my favorite vehicles honestly. Way better than the Azov 42-20 in my book.
Bryan Scianna yeah that’s a bloody good idea actually dude 👍🏻! Never thought of that but there ain’t many places 2 of them ain’t going to get to lol! It’s also brilliant as a recovery vehicle, I did the exact same thing with the Derry! Dragged it down the river in minutes! One of the hardest missions without the cat, one of the easiest with it! It didn’t want to go up the Derry hill for me but it is pretty steep, but yeah pulling power wise it’s almost untouchable! I tried that Antarctic thing and I couldn’t stand it! Sold it back after a couple of minutes! The steering felt horrible and twitchy and yeah I won’t buy that back until it’s the last thing left basically! I much prefer this over that thing! Sadly I didn’t use this as much as I could have, knowing what I know now there’s loads of times it would have helped!
The cat is next to perfect. It plows through mud and snow like they're nothing (I don't play the game but I do watch reviews the players seems to always compliment this beast). It's just missing an snorkel (btw love the review)
Snorkel, trailer hitch, ice chains/studs on at least two axles (as an option for when ice really becomes a problem (9:41)).
Even if they were later game upgrades, it just needs them, though mainly the !!trailer hitch!!! :D
And if they wanted to limit the cargo carrying capacity, maybe they could only let it have sideboard bed /repair and fuel trailers. (The trailer hitch should still be usable with the two body addons it has)
Got mine fully upgraded, slapped the "Big N' Dirty" windshield sticker on it, and put the fuel carrier on it. I use it strictly as my refuel truck
One thing I want to add. When see you a stump. Don't worry. It just runs right over them.

Yeah it goes over stumps way better than most vehicles! To be honest I’ve still caught 1 or 2 stumps but I’d say a good 90% at least it just goes straight over! Every other vehicle makes it over around 0% lol so it’s a massive improvement and just another way it makes life easier that some people won’t notice before parking it up for life! I mainly use this thing to refuel/rescue other trucks. Its a shame that we can't tow a trailer like azov 4220 did and those 71" wheels aren't a joke in muddy/snowy area 😂
The best thing to use the cat for is (Like @Shizanketsuga said) is a mobile fuel station. But! You have to do everything slow and steady! Ive tried using auto or high for mud and i got stuck. So just use low - for rough terrain.
I love the caterpillar it is the best truck in the game and it is almost impossible to flip it✌🏼

Christine yeah I tested it on the route to the tuz 420 and it goes down there like it’s a paved road! In fact I’d say it prefers deep mud over paved roads lol! That would certainly help too but mud seems to be her natural habitat lol!
these are my keybinds for gearbox ;d, the good thing is, on num pad, it is easy to immitate the shape of the gearbox in game ;d, so visually its easy to remember ;d
7 - low +; 8 - high
4 - low; 5 - auto; 6 - neutral
1 - low -; 2 - reverse

Yeah, as far as tires go, be sure and always use the "II" tires, they always have the best mud traction. "III" Seems to have the best dirt stats.
I don't really like the handling on this and don't drive it much. I have it setup as a fuel truck.
Yeah I know what you mean dude, I’ve got used to it more now but I’m not going to lie it could be better, and just normal steering with no articulated middle would be fine with me too! But yeah stuff like it being a mobile fuel station that can easily get down even the toughest map parts is a handy thing to have 👍🏻
@@itsmrlonewolf So far the CAT 745C, the P12, Kodiak and Zilk (or however you spell it, Russian truck that starts with Z) I have done for fuel.
GMC, Transtar and CLT9000 (basically all the 2WD's) I have done up for repair.
Azov 8X8 I have a big yellow crane attached to.
Most of my 6X6's are done up with flatbeds, only exception is the Royal which has the oil drilling thingy on it.
Navistar I use for hauling trailers.
Really got no use for the Derry Longhorn or P16.
Justin Lynch yeah I didnt even use all my trucks for basically all of my playthrough! My white western star is my crane truck! The Navistar did most of the hauling! the CAT here and there for odd things, and then the Tayga nearer the end really! And the scouts
I didn’t even use the GMC past that first mission! Or the transtar! The Tayga was my oil vibrator thing or whatever it’s called lol! On another play through id definitely mix and match it more than I did the first time!

Yeah good thinking man I wish I had too but I thought of it too late lol! It’s perfect for that sort of thing though, there’s usually a spot on each map that is a nightmare for almost every other truck, but this can just walk it without much hassle! Amazing pulling power too!

In my defence the screen is tiny when I’m recording audio and I just seen it for a second and said it off the top of my head, I honestly thought it was lol, here in the U.K. just about every car has a little red ice scraper somewhere in the glove box lol!
However on a side note, I’m amazed it’s a little emergency glass breaking hammer! Here in the U.K. even the mini diggers I believe have to have toughened glass and the bigger diggers and plant machinery etc has to have basically bullet proof windows so if any rocks etc fall and hit it then the driver will be fine! So over here i reckon you’d be a lot more likely to find a little ice scraper for the winter over a hammer as you’d never hammer out of a big digger or trucks window lol! They’re made to stop a boulder coming through or an iron girder etc lol! Not on road trucks but stuff that might be working around building sites or quarry’s etc has to! My old boss got fined £25k because he didn’t have toughened glass on his digger, then days after getting the glass he knocked a house down and a wall fell on the cab and the windows were fine so he’s lucky he did lol 👍🏻

Yeah up until this last update I genuinely had an extremely bug free time! Since then there’s been some little things that get old fast! Nothing game breaking or stopping, but fun killing occasionally which is just as bad! But they’ve fixed a lot of stuff over the weeks so they are at least trying to work through them so yeah I don’t mind waiting a few days per bug but I agree I’d rather they were all gone 👍🏻

What do you mean please dude? Do you mean bugs? If so I’m not sure but I have noticed the clipping cargo bug has gone (for me at least) and I didn’t see a proper update so they seem to be fixing things with behind the scenes patches so hopefully not long

Jason Sayre yeah I think I remember the mission you mean! It was fine for me but I think it was that major update that broke the cargo clipping! However speaking of that mission, I’m sure I just grabbed the oil barrels from the petrol station in smithville as I didn’t really know what I was doing back then lol and didn’t realise they were scattered across the map! But if it still wasn’t working for you then I think that’s a viable work around 👍🏻!
