At the beginning and end he has the same clothes on so this was a dream within a dream. He wants to be not alone but also even when he's with some one it all ends the same. When he wakes, the person in his head (himself), is not just his friend, but the person he has to love to be happy. He accepts this at the end when his other V says yeah...your stuck with me...Well thats my take on it anyway. 💁♀️💜
