I Wonder if I Care As Much by The Everly Brothers
Lyrics:
I wonder if I care as much
As I did before
Last night I cried myself to sleep
For the one that makes me weep
I dried my eyes to greet the day
And wondered why I had to pay
The tears that I have shed by day
Give relief and wash away
The memory of the night before
I wonder if I'll suffer more
I wonder if I care as much
As I did before
My pride is made to say "Forgive"
And take the blame for what you did
It's your mistake I'm thinking of
I wonder if I'm still in love
My heart can't thrive on misery
My life, it has no destiny
When things get more than I can bear
I ask myself, Do I still care?
I wonder if I care as much
As I did before ( fade )
I wonder if I care as much
As I did before
Congratulations, to Paul and Edie !!! Way to keep it together !!!!
why have we not heard more music from these 2 together ??? it's heavenly
Everyone thought that Paul lost his mind when he married that Bohemian girl singer. And here it is decades later and not only are they still together, but still making beautiful music together. Keep on keeping on.
I kinda thought the opposite, but OK.
Lost his mind when he married a beautiful girl with a great voice?
Nicholas Cone She was an unknown
This is so beautiful 😍, thank you!
Whateva-he stole my girl :)
So wonderful to see a husband a wife singing together like we have over the ages. In the most trying times there exists beauty.
You guys are so ridiculously cute. Thanks for sharing the love.
Yes, charming smiles!
There really needs to be a Simon & Brickell tour when we are through this storm
@@igorst.georgesbutler6783 wow, u must have some strong drugs, dude
They are both wonderfully creative and talented singer-songwriters who know their business and how to be successful at it. If they have not done much in the way of duets and such I am sure there are very good reasons they have limited their efforts in that direction to more of charity fundraising and PR. I think I recall from time to time explanations they have given for keeping their careers mostly disentangled on the performance end. Whatever they do, they each put a lot of heart into it and make it worth hearing, and they have very unique styles of their own.

Perhaps you got into the wrong line...I really have a hard time keeping the warning signs posted in every tongue.
I'd like to see them as a trio with Art. I could imagine Art getting jealous because because Paul was spending too much time with Edie
I'm so glad they are still together. I know they had some really tough times. Think about Edie Brickell's life. She first appeared with the New Bohemians when she was an audience member. Their lead singer had quit in a huff just before the show, and her friends said, "Hey, Edie can sing!" And the band invited her up. She became their lead singer. She had a smash with "What I Am" and it appeared on a stunning album. Her fame led to a meeting with Paul Simon and she married him. Folks, that is a charmed life.
I think that is an AMAZING story.
Sadly one of the Bohemians (Carter Albrecht) was using the quit smoking product, had a drink and his erratic behavior led to a neighbor shooting and killing him. He's the reason you hear the behavioral warnings on the commercials. Sad thing.
Pretty much it in a nutshell,
I appreciate the story I had forgotten about,
I love a good story, especially when it is true,
☮️♥️☑️
I'd leave anyone who beat me up. They should, too.
@@acr08807 What do you tell a woman with two black eyes? Nothin' you haven't already told her twice.
We are blessed to have you around, Mr. Simon. Thank you for your gift of great music
It's good to see you two together singing...
Thank you Paul and Edie, for a lifetime of great music. I LOVE your smiles at the end.
And hand holding
Very nice. Stay safe Paul, Edie & family 👍
This, right here, is how I know we're going to be OK.
Stay at home if you can folks, to help doctors and nurses take care of our sick. In the meantime, Paul Simon will take care of our souls.
And our hearts and minds as he has done for a long time and hopefully much longer to come
I'm sure you meant stay home if your not feeling well.
Simply beautiful. Thank you so much x
@JP McCray Just did and if you're referring to an incident in 2014 the Court dropped the proceedings and no sentence was imposed. Edie actually said that she had picked a fight with Paul.
@SafeSpace Post Hey, glad you deleted your last threatening post. But I saved the screenshot and reported you anyway!
Oh yeah, OF COURSE, It makes total sense you're a Flat Earther idiot too.
this is what I was waiting for husband and wife duet finally.✌️🙏🎶🤠🎸 be safe
Ooooh yeeeaaah!!!.... I love you Mr. Simon!!!....
Paul and Edie, sittin’ in a tree, S-I-N-G-I-N-G. So lovely, you two. This really helps. Really and truly. It helps. Thank you. Much love from out in the woods near Logsden, Oregon.

Jacob Accurso - I love you, Paul & Edie💕🌈Oregon loves you ☮️your music is a blessing
Portland OR here🙌🏻
O your harmony on that last 'care' = heavenly sound! Your mellow voices are soothing in a rough time.
Paul, still lifting our spirits after all these years.
I can remember Paul saying something like I've been lucky in every area of my life except personal relationships. Glad his luck changed
Wow《☆》Very cool👍🏾🎸🤳I imagine their Children are talented musicians as well✌🏼😎☯️
There are a lot of flashier guitar players in the world, but I have always loved the understated playing that Paul Simon had. You don't realize how difficult it is by simply listening, but if you attempt to play it..... Good to see both of them.
Wow, Paul looks and sounds fantastic at his age. Good health to you, Paul, we all love you
You sound wonderful together. 💖
"The Sound Of Silence" came out when Edie Brickell was born.
Their voices blend so beautifully
Oh, Paul with the amazing Ms. Brickell!!! Just wonderful pure voices, to think that they just rely on the natural acoustics of the room to work for their advantage, sans the finishing touches of modern voice recording technology. Thank you to the both of you, this rendition is simply very inspiring. I am just in awe!
you'd be surprised where ya do find great acoustics..
and upstairs bathroom with wooden floors and tall ceilings, a kitchen with wooden floors and lots of open space... or a nice open long hallway.. are usually not the greatest as I like to sayplaces of comfort LOL like a nice family room or Den but it is what it is
Old Code. .Werkin IT.
An old Everly Bros song that I love sung beautifully. Stay safe and well.. greetings from down under. If you fancy doing a tour of Australia together when this terrible crisis is over please let me know. I'd be honoured to bring you both to our wonderful fighting country to help heal the wounds we've experienced lately. Take care😇
Thank you Paul and Edie. Nice to hear old and new friends harmonizing. Harmonizing humanity.. . .yes
This is keeping me sane, and smiling in these troubled times!
@Scouts Honor Oh yes! I remember Circles! oh man that brings me back.
Our generation of singers had the best troubadours of folk music and simple ballads 😊
Thank you Paul. Continue to pay your gift forward to the world. We all need your healing music right now. We mourn those who are leaving us in death and we honor their families and healthcare workers who care for them and love them.
Phil everly would be proud of that very nice thank you
Lovely 👍👍
Thank You for singing for us all 💕🌈
I'm so glad to see y'all together. Always imagined what it was like seeing the two of you playing together. Keep it coming. 🤩💞
Bravo! These two make a seriously awesome couple. 💕
Please be safe. The world is only better when you are both healthy and alive
Thank you so much for these precious Gems Mr Simon & lovely talent spouse Ms. Brickell
Thanks for your lifelong remembrance of Phil and Don.
Great to know Paul and company are always in our "corner"! Thank you so much and God bless.
I think is the first time I hear Paul Simon sing this beautiful Everly Brothers classic. Love it!

Seeing you sing together is magical. Please please may we hear more?
Tour together. Please. Your voices blend beautifully together.
Sweetness personified.
Beautiful.
Thank you, thank you, thousands times thank you!
Hey Paul and Edie. Thank you both for this song. Stay home, stay safe, keep singing. It makes us happy.
Paul, what I love about you two is your eternal youth.
You had made us dream for decades and it continues during the pandemic.
Love from algeria
Gold in it's purest form
Fantastic! So great to see you and hear you both together! There is indeed a God.
Nice to hear the old Everlys' song.
This is probably the most heartwarming thing to exist on the internet
That was so so so very very lovely. Bless you! Such elegance and graceful blending of two heartful voices.
so interesting to see legends on social media. its like we get to know them all over again, but closer.
Paul- your music has meant so much to me through all the years of my life. I just want to say thank you and tell you that you are a poet for the ages. Bless you and Edie.
🤗 thankyou
You do the Everly Brothers proud.
Two of my fave singers/songwriters ... doesn't get better than this.
Great job Al and Betty!!
Thanks!
Love this song! My brother and sister used to sing this song back in the early 70s.
You two give that memory some stiff, stiff competition!!! Lovely! Thanks!!
That's so sweet, it's enough to make you cry.
I care as much! Haunting beautiful! Love you much!!
Just a snippet of a duet maybe - but really lovely and I can't get it out of my head. I should certainly like to see more of them performing together.
Thank you so much for lifting our spirits.
Wow,.Edie! This is gorgeous.
Thank you Paul and Edie!! Love from CT!
Two of my favorite musicians! I respect them being with each other for all these years! I assume it was hard! whatever! Stay well!
Very nice harmony. Beautiful. Oh Edie, I loved The New Bohemians, particularly your sweet voice. The '80's had so many good unique bands. You never knew what the great song was coming out next. What a total bore pop music has been since that time. Best wishes to you both.
Lovely people, lovely music, and we're all fortunate to be able to share in such art. When people let their light shine, their talents flow, we are all the better for it. Thanks guys.
Great day for a serenade. Thanks, Paul
I was at the Edie Brickell concert in Pensacola, Florida, 1989. It was absolutely wonderful, I still know all the lyrics! It would be super if Simon and Brickell could put together an album !
PS ...Paul the songs you and Art wrote and sang together are among my all time Favorites.
A great song is forever. They prove it here. Thank you Paul and Edie for giving us this special treat as we stay hunkered down.
Imagine being one of their kids sitting in the backseat on a road trip, listening to mom & dad singing….lol😂
Edie and Paul, you are karmicaly fantastic together🥰
Thank you Paul and Edie from Eastern Canada.
Stay home, stay safe and be well everyone.
Are you on the Bay of Fundy? I was supposed to go there May 23, but I'm starting to doubt the US border will be open by then.
@@BobStein Yes Bob. I'm on Grand Manan Island. As much as we like visitors, I'd suggest forgetting it for this year. If you are heading for Nova Scotia, they have a 2 week quarantine for anyone entering the province. I expect it to be a year or more before it is safe to travel.
Stay home, stay safe and be well.
@@ArchFundy Oh my gosh what a perfect place to observe the tides!
"Stay home" sounds simple but for me it's not exactly. I'm not coming there for vacation, I'd be coming there to live and work. I'd be happy to quarantine for 14 days, it's kind of how I live anyway. I'm what the kids call a digital nomad. I don't have a permanent residence, my "home" has been in airbnbs for years, paying for them months in advance. My lot is MUCH better than the "homeless" as I do have options. Airbnb has refunded some but refused to refund bookings I could not possibly have attended. I'm currently paying for a place in Toronto. I booked places in St John NB and Halifax NS, but those are outside the bounds of their latest covid19 cancellation policy, so I expect a fruitless struggle there. Either with airbnb, or at the border, or both. I'm staying with my kids in Maine but it's crowded not sustainable. More blather than you deserve.
@@BobStein Hi Bob. Is there no way for you to do your job online? Face to face meetings should be avoided if possible. I understand that ppl must work to make a living, but a job won't do you much good if it kills you. I wish I had an easy answer for ya, but there doesn't seem to be any easy answers in 2020.
I wish you good luck and good health. Remember, this calamity will pass someday and only the survivors will get to enjoy whatever is left. Be safe.
@@ArchFundy I do everything online. I'm not working to make a living. I'm not asking you for an answer. Wherever I figure out to live I will try to be safe. I just wanted to talk to you about the tides there. But thanks for the concern.
Lovely
Delightful... it brings out the Texas in Edie!
Brillaint Paul and wife, thank you my dears😉
Far out, one of my first and all time favourite LPs was Graceland and one of my first and favourite tapes was Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars - I know this is dumb but had no idea Paul Simon and Edie Brickell had anything to do with each other! This really made my day and the nostalgic awesomeness has no words. Thank you guys for your music. You rock.
This is a gift. Thank you for it.
So beautiful... I could listen to them for years. And I have.
Paul, (if you're there I grew up sing Everlys with my brother. When our mother would sing with us (the alto) I'd find the third part and when Daddy joined in I'd force him to sing the bass. Now that they are all gone I sing to their recordings. It's such fun and the memories of you (my grandmother loved for us to sing Scarborough Fair while she played dobro) and Don & Phil come back as I sing with your videos of this and Dream with Woody H and family. It is such a comfort during this time as I sit and sing along with you to my sweet 16 yr old cat. We don't have diamonds on the soles of our paws but we share your heart o'gold and love you for all you've done and continue to do for all of us with these new videos. Love to Edie and all of yours.
My favorite musical couple. Great harmony. Stay together forever!
To have a national icon just give of his soul to this free national forum in our time, so nice. Thanks Paul, glad to be here with you!
so sweet harmony.
You opened the curtains to let in the sunshine with this one.
You can feel the love. It's beautiful. The music is also quite nice.
Yeah. .Harmony Counts. a gem. and Believe It. .Thanks and Blessings.
Edie and Paul, thank you both so much! That was wonderful!
I love this song. I love seeing you sing together. Both huge influences on me and I am so grateful to see you sing together. Mind blowing.
beautiful!!!!!!! from japan
I like watching these 2 Kids ...lol
Paul and Edie..my 2 favs!
One of the best Everly Brothers tunes
great thx for sharing...
I could not possibly adore these two any more than I already do.
ENCORE! ENCORE! Nice harmony. Long overduet, keep 'em coming!!!
Loved Edie’s song “What I Am”, the song is like the confluence of two headwater streams, her awesome voice and the instruments. Art should be here too...not only because his grandpa was born in Romania like me, his voice was sweet as honey.
Thank you!!
