Katatonia has said themselves that they don't like to do the same thing over and over again; they like to be slightly different with each album. This video is different, but it is mysterious, very much like the song itself. Katatonia is amazing.
I have a thought: Fans of Katatonia should submit their own video for this song, get out your cameras and start editing. This track (album) has so much potential, I imagine we can achieve results beyond this....

To my humble opinion, this video is totally inferior to the beautiful videos from 'The Great Cold Distance' - which also happened to have some great portrayal of the band. I seriously take issue with these clichéd gothichorror-style visualisations. Still, I love the band for what they create.

You know I liked some of the visuals but most of the stuff with the models was not very good (and then I'm still beeing nice). Video doesn't really do justice to the song. But hell....I know you guys probably don't get the budget for what you would really want in a music vid. I did however like the landscapes and the bit with the buildings was nice (should have been more of that in the vid).

I would hate to be the girl in that video. Ugh! I think all the worms and insects have to do with fear. "All my fears come into view" I also think the video relates to a hope of an end to those fears "There must be an end soon" They just used death to signify the end to the fear with worms and insects. If you think about it, it makes sense. I'm sure I'm stating the obvious on some of these points but I think if you look at the video from an artist's standpoint it's beautiful and dark.

I'm a huge fan of Katatonia and I love this song. I even like Lasse Hoile's work. However I really dislike this video; it's very teeny emo-goth (mainly tarnished by the look of the girls) and doesn't fit with the music at all. It's disappointing to me.
Good song, especially the intro. Hate the video. And yes it is about the music at the end of the day but if you're gonna spend money on a video surely you wanna do the best representation for it. A bunch of chicks being weird is pretty questionable.

It's the same problem as in "Way Out of Here" by Porcupine Tree (also directed by Lasse Hoile): Waaaay too much cliche (screaming goth-girl, blood, worms ... common ... ) and no clever ideas how to visually interpret the lyrics ... I expected a more subtle approach than this pathetic "emotions-in-your-face"-style ...
As much as I love Katatonia, Night Is The New Day is easily their weakest, most phoned in album. And let’s be honest, this horrendous music video is the only memorable thing about this forced-sounding-attempt-at-being-more-upbeat track. Granted, the video is unintentionally hilarious
