Great job on the Mecums Auction commentary and insights. I follow all 4 days only missing a few hours. I have been doing this for 4 years out of curiosity for market trends and find it very interesting. It really sets the upcoming year values. Not being a collector but an enthusiast of Triumphs with a smaller stable. I also have family with more eclectic tastes and try to convey what is hot and what’s not. I take the sold picture of bikes of interest for a reference, and discuss with my brother where we may have gone wrong in our bikes of interest over coffee. I completely agree that this year was soft on some especially early. There were many that didn’t meet reserve and some guys got hosed. I watch all your videos and enjoy your commentary, not obnoxious but normal and not rambling. Thanks for all your quality work!

in 1981 I purchased a brand new 1981 Maico MC from the dealer with a 1980 440 motor in it that had the enduro gearing. for $1200. dealer explained the 1981 roller with the 1980 motor came from California and was assembled there from the leftovers, sold as a whole brand new bike. I thought Maico dudes would be interested in that. I installed Ohlins and a number plate rear fender, removed side panels and made a red seat cover. that same year I also bought two new YZ125s and they were also $1200 each.

I agree with you... there were a few similar bikes with large price difference's..... one would need to be to the screen to catch them ..... custom bikes did poorly... choppers were a total bust....

You would think if you bought 4 bikes and they were all being trailered up and shipped from Vegas to Florida (at the same time) you would get some kind of discount. Or do they come separately?
You would think that. Normally I get a discount but the events have special ship registration, so i doubt it.

Thanks for the video Dave as always nice job best advice I can give you or anyone else when you're on a buying trip you have a budget figure that's all you have you try to space that out and get as much as you can for that amount and then you bought yourself out you have spent and shot your wad and that's the end of the story you got so much money you spend that money it's over load up and head back
Well, its a little more complicated - because if you shoot your wad on the wrong bike, and the same/similar bike then sells later for much less. You have to pick and choose a bit. Harder when you're not looking for a specific model. I did not chase the bike that I hoped to buy
@@bullpencycles understood copy that I sold cars trucks motorcycles I sold weapons and Bose I did wholesale I did retail for almost 30 years and I do know the business and how to get in and get out and don't lose your ass you make the wrong buy you're in trouble
