What’s the biggest challenge or fear holding you back from starting over? Please leave a comment-I’d love to hear your story and support your path! 🩷✨
I worked in the corporate world about 45 years and I am surprised that I am still alive. I was constantly stressed and sometimes depressed. But, at that time I didn’t have the confidence to change my work situation or give up the salary that working in the corporate world offered. I can say working in corporate world is like dancing with the devil. You trade your mind and soul for more money to buy more stuff you don’t need to fill the unhappiness void of hating your job and the culture. I now have been retired for 10 years and so happy I don’t work there anymore. Sometimes I do miss certain aspects of the job learning and interacting with others, but I think it’s just nostalgia of having a career. If I had a do over in life I would have done everything you mentioned and same myself some grief. I was lucky, I knew and heard of several colleagues who died before retirement and didn’t even get a chance to retire. I thank God that at 74 years old I survived the stress of working in corporate world. Congratulations you are going to be alright you have the right attitude and tools. God bless you
Thank you so much for sharing your story and wisdom. It’s inspiring to hear how you navigated through those challenges and found peace in retirement. I can only imagine how valuable your perspective is for so many of us trying to step away from the grind. Grateful for your encouragement-God bless you too!
These are great tips Reggi ! I also left my j-o-b (retired) at 55 with the goal of being a full-time domestic Queen, Entrepreneur and Investor. It's 15 months later and I want to actively work about 4 more years, so I am pursuing business income and those additional streams so that they can serve me and I can coast into the next level of passive income and peace of mind by 60. Even though I am still working full time for myself, it is not the same type of stress, pressure, and downright oppression that I felt at my previous place of employment. It was such a life-enhancing breath of fresh air leaving that environment. I do not regret it at all. Your channel is so relatable and encouraging. Thank You 🙂
Thank you for sharing your inspiring journey! I love how you’re shaping your life with intentional goals which are very encouraging. It’s a breath of fresh air to see how much peace you’ve gained after leaving that environment. Appreciate you. ☺️💛
My biggest fear will be finances. I am 66, still working, but for the past 3 months, I wake up every day saying 'self, WHY are you still going into the office? You have sooo much knowledge (in healthcare, i.e. medical terminology, medical records, etc) and you KNOW that you can create content that can help others!' So, I feel pretty for certain in 2025 I will be taking that leap (leaving corporate) so that I can have a legacy for my now 3-year-old grandson!
From what I can tell, you are already a legend! Your wealth of knowledge and your drive to create a lasting legacy are truly inspiring. I know that when you take that leap in 2025, you’ll do it with purpose and passion, and your grandson will be so proud to have you as an example. 🩷
You have a wealth of knowledge! Health is wealth! Im sure you will do great! Just start! you will be fine. Plus you can spend more time with your grandson!
Awesome thank you for the great advice. I’m 51 and would love to retire by 60. I’m working on paying off debts and learning how to stay in a budget. You keep me encouraged 😊
Thank you so much for sharing, Alana! Paying off debt and sticking to a budget is such a powerful step toward financial freedom. You’re doing amazing and I am rooting for you! Retiring by 60 is absolutely possible! 😊💛
Hi Reggie, its def finances thats holding me back! Im 58 in a corporate job that i dont even enjoy, i have my own family responsibilities and caring commitments for my elderly mum. Im more and more tired and dont sleep well either! I dont get to do any of the things i enjoy and getting frustrated as i know i can have a better life! Ive been thinking of resigning to give me back time and see where i can use my skills and passion to earn money and live life on my own terms!!
Thanks for sharing your journey, its given me a boost 😁 lots of love from UK ❤
Hi there! I completely understand how exhausting it can feel juggling it all. Taking time back for yourself and exploring what you’re passionate about is so worth it. Sending you love from across the pond as you figure out how to align your life with what truly matters! 🙏🏽🩷
Plan your work... then work your plan @safs2666... then resign, get your time back and then GO FORTH AND CONQUER !
You can do it with thought and careful preparation !
Excellent! As a woman who just turned 43, I'm looking to leave working my "corporate" job. I've been an registered nurse for 15 years and this year became an assistant nurse manager. Whether working at the beside or in management, I'm just over it. I have plans of starting a RUclips channel that focusing on healing, health, and wellness. Your video was perfect in helping me to understand what is to come. I want a life of freedom in order to do things on my own terms. Thanks for this video and being a positive representative or what my life could be! ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing your incredible journey and kind words! It’s inspiring to see how you’re already laying the foundation for a new chapter filled with healing and freedom. Your passion and experience as a nurse will no doubt shine through in your future RUclips channel. Cheering you on! ❤️❤️❤️
Im grateful for this video. I'm now 55 and need to make a change in every area of my life. This has encouraged me to make more active steps forward. 🙏💕😃
Thank you, Angela! I’m so glad this video encouraged you. Taking those active steps forward is powerful and sounds like you’re on the right path. Sending you lots of positivity as you create those changes! 🙏🏽✨🩷
I did the reverse and left my business and went to corporate 😂. Thank you for sharing your journey and inspiring others to take bold intentional steps! At 50+, I’m now stepping into my power and embracing what’s next. I’ve started my channel to help others in the second half of life create freedom and flexibility on their own terms-something I’m learning to do, too. Your content is fueling my courage to hit record, and I’m so grateful. ❤ Keep doing what you do!
Love your bold move and the humor in it! It’s inspiring to hear how you’re helping others find freedom and flexibility in their second half of life. I am rooting for you hitting your record and sharing your brilliance! ✨❤️
@@reggisweat Thank you. I love your candor!
My biggest challenge is fear! Ive already decided to let go of things that no longer serve me, finances would be fine, it's more of the fear of change, which I pray about daily! Im 54 and really want to retire early, however change is hard to wrap around my brain. 😩
Thank you for sharing, Melly! Fear is such a normal part of big transitions, but it’s also where the greatest growth happens. It’s inspiring that you’re letting go of what no longer serves you. With prayer and taking small, consistent actions toward your goals will help make it feel more manageable. I am cheering for you! 😃✨❤️
I will be in a similar circumstance soon and am here for your journey. All the best! 💗
Thank you for being here! Wishing you strength and clarity as you navigate your journey. Sending lots of positivity your way! 💛
I don't have any challenges or fear, I just regret not pivoting sooner. I quit my job 3 months before my 50th birthday (May 2024). I absolutely believe with my whole soul it was the right thing to do. I haven't retired, I fully intend to continue working, but I'm taking a one year career break. I see it as a reset to get clear on how I want to sculpt the next few decades of my life. Most of my career has been in fast paced, high stress, tech environments and I've had enough! I'm excited to find new interest and ways of earning income.
That one-year career break sounds like the perfect way to recharge and discover new passions. Wishing you an amazing journey ahead as you explore what’s next! I am excited for you! 🩷
The hardest thing about starting over for me was going to a new cultural environment. Hawaii has a mixture of Japanese, Vietnamese, Philippine, Hawaiian, Puerto Rican, Portuguese, Caucasian American and a very African Americans. The names , the languages & foods I have never heard of. I was working independently in outpatient care as a Registered Dietician-Nutritionist. Then, I transitioned to Long term care nursing with a hands-on supervisor. Though, I don't regret it; I don't recommend it either. I feel so much better being here. I needed to save myself. NYC was on the verge of killing me! Or I was going to catch a case.
Your last sentence has me cracking up. Girrrllll, you were going to catch a case. I feel you!!! I am in Charlotte, NC and you know it's a huge city. I can't imagine all you were facing in N.Y. What happened to the lady burned alive on the train last Sunday should have everyone running to the exit from that city.
Wow, Anisa, what a powerful story! Starting over in such a diverse cultural environment must have been both challenging and enriching. I admire your strength in prioritizing your well-being and making that leap to save yourself. Transitioning careers is no small feat, and it sounds like you’ve gained so much clarity about what’s best for you. Thank you for sharing! 💛
@melody7779 I am so thankful and grateful I got out !
Anisa, I was born and raised in Hawaii (Oahu) and I had a huge culture shock working on the "West Side" in a long term care facility at the age of 40+ years old and I thought I was in a different country! I've learned some Tagalog and Ilocano and garnered some respect from my Filipino friends, but at first by mind was blown...I wasn't sure I was living in Hawaii😂
My biggest challenge is carving out a new identity. Because I was ill for a long period, I did not dtay connected to people in my field. So now I am always being the new person in the room.
It’s definitely a challenge to start fresh, but being the ‘new person’ also means you bring fresh perspectives and unique experiences to the table. Take your time to rediscover your identity and know your story is your strength. Wishing you all the best on this path. 💛
Thank you for this...and you are just radiantly beautiful. Sweet vibes.
My pleasure and thank you for the sweet compliment! ☺️All the best to you! 🩷
55???? More like 35!!!! Beautiful ❤
😊 thank you, appreciate the sweet compliment! 🙏🏽❤️
Not relying on single income stream is huge yet still many people suffer from it. No matter income or investment, always have multiple stream of it.
Besides, I was sending an email. Check out whenever you get free. Wishing more success in 2025.
I’m 59 my husband is 61 we would love to retire early, but can’t because we need the medical insurance. At least one of us would need to work to provide the medical insurance.
I hear you, Sandra. Healthcare is such a big factor when considering early retirement. One thing that helped me was exploring affordable options through the healthcare marketplace and understanding what benefits I could qualify for. If you’d like, I can dive deeper into this topic in a future video. Let me know if that would be helpful! 💛✨
@@reggisweatthank you for this video, it is so helpful!! I would love to hear more about health insurance. ❤
I recently hear of the high nonpayment of health care bills by certain companies. I would suggest everyone research, read the fine print of agreements and call directly their insurance provider. It would be a shame to suffer a job because of a policy that would not cover you when you would need it.
Check medical, lost income covers, all really. The list income due to illness did not payout when a man i knew was injured so could not work. He was so angry as he paid for years without claiming before!
This is a great topic, health insurance. I think this sends many into the fear and not jump - more on health insurance would be wonderful! Great content!
Same exact situation we are in. I am older and was supposed to retire first (I'm not even 60) but my younger husband is retiring next month due to job burnout and affecting his health, so our plan of me retiring sooner flew out the window. I'm going to keep working for the medical insurance and wait til I'm 62 to collect SS and then retire. That won't solve the problem of no medical, but I have looked into Kaiser plans until we are Medicare aged. Need to stay healthy until then!
I call this phase ENTREPRENEUR-MENT
Love that-‘ENTREPRENEUR-MENT’ is such a perfect way to describe it! Thank you for sharing that perspective! 🩷
Yes ! That's exactly what I'm doing... excellent description.... because it's absolutely not the "retirement"
people traditionally think of at all... I still work plenty... it's just working for myself now !
@samiamserenity Yes! I got so tired of people asking me what's it like in retirement now that I have nothing to do.
Like you, I still work. I am a caregiver and started RUclips and a blog as a creative outlet.
I am not sitting around waiting to die. 🙄
I will turn 56 in one week and wish I could retire now.
Happy early birthday! Wishing you the clarity, courage, and a path forward to make your goals a reality and 56 is just the beginning! 💛
54 and wish I would've gotten into the corporate world. I was more in the beauty industry 😢
It’s never too late to explore new opportunities or pivot into something different if that’s what you want. Your skillset and creativity from the beauty world could be a huge asset in so many fields. Keep believing in your ability to make the next chapter yours! 💛
@@BiKEnBiTES you still can.
