Great to see SG roads again. I lived there 2010 to 2020 and did a coupe RTIs. The biggest ride I’ve ever done was in Nov 2018 when i did an Audax for 200 km. Damn near killed me.
I’ve discovered your channel about a week ago and freken love your content. I watched so many older videos bcuz everything you include in the cycling life and the editing is soooo entertaining 🚴🏽 🔥
I discovered Jasper like, 3 days ago. I finished all his videos in 24 hours. This one was the first video that got me hooked. I came back here to leave a comment- keep it up Jasper!! Your videos make me want to come to singapore just to cycle with friends- something I didn't know I wanted to do until I binge-watched your entire library! The humility, jokes, editing, carefree vibe, honesty is super refreshing in the space of cycling content :)
🥹🥹 thanks so much for this Demetria!! Appreciate the kind words and for clearing the entire library. That’s a lot of videos to finish in 24hours!! 😂 Hopefully you’ll be able to cycle here one day! I always tell people they can finish the island in a day
I also stop by this same Esso station when doing an RTI trip! They always have have Polar puffs in stock whether day or night (compared to other Cheers outlets). It's also close to Jurong Hill Park which was 1 of my fave places to practice climbs, so I would get myself a $1 drink from them after climbing down (cheaper than vending machines!) haha
Ah never thought about $1 drinks being cheaper than the vending machines!! But yes! The only petrol station I stop at actually 😂😂 really like the puffs, and it’s just always a sight to see cause you’ll just want to stop after LP1
lol we usually take a bit longer because when we stop to eat it's an actual stop. I stay at Clementi area so if I go lampost 1 it's more than 160km since I go past it first and basically have to go past my side and turn back from pandan reservoir after. I still don't know how y'all wake up so early lol. We start after dinner, I leave my house at 8 then we go to barrage toilet break, up to the end of ecp, rest our back for 5 min, up to changi village to eat and buy stuff like my mountain dew and other food, eat bread at the hawker center, have teh halia. then we head to Lorong Halus for the toilet, go up the pcn punggol north, seletar north link, yishun dam, Canberra stop for drinks and eat some of the food we bought at changi. Then it's kranji, Lim Chu Kang, jalan buroh, lp1 pandan reservoir and back after. The only time I did that with friends we went to west coast park to eat mcdonalds. But normally we won't do lampost 1 because it's out of the way for almost everyone. 2 of them live near lim chu kang so they peel off there. Mostly only go lp1 when there's events like ntu bike rally. That one was crazy, 178 km starting at f1 pit stop, plus the ride there and back plus all my wrong turns, 210km and I was alone for basically 90% of the way, was with a group at the start but they were going too fast and some of them ended up dropping out after lp1, followed another group on mini velos but they were also pushing too hard and my leg was kinda injured anyway. Idk what happened to them but according to the persona t the rest stop at lorang halus they never reached there. My left leg was still painful for 3 weeks. Maybe shouldn't have gone while injured but I paid for it already.
Hey that’s crazy! I honestly always opt for riding in the mornings just because of the way I function - I won’t be able to sleep if I ride at night! But kudos to you for not giving up and completing. You might want to check your bike position if you’re having knee issues! And don’t push too hard! All the best for the next adventure and hopefully I’ll see you around on the roads!
