thats a season-ending injury for sure. Im not doctor, but that looked like he either snapped his ligaments in his knee. Probably ACL. If thats the case, you wont see him playing in the NHL for at least 1 year imo

He broke bones it goes beyond acl and mcl tears. Tibia platue fracture i did it a year and a half ago and im still messed up. Two plates amd 12 screws. To keep all the pieces of bones that shattered in place to heal. Basically when your knee bends from side to side instead of back and forth like they are supposed to.
It’s unbearable for anyone. When I fractured my foot, I was begging my son to knock me out. His aikido would have come in handy. Only remember is getting discharged in a cast....This was hard to watch....

You can't see his leg break and it's probably not a fracture. He flew back to Florida with the team. In case of a fracture he'd most likely still be in the hospital. High ankle sprain or knee ligaments injuries, maybe even both at the same time are more likely than a fracture.
His leg didn’t break in a likelihood. That looks like a knee ligament tear. He’ll get surgery and be back on skates next season if that’s the case. Those are always season enders

this was identical to trocheks injury a few years back and it took only until this year to find his game again. hopefully he fully recovers and comes back even better

I had a similar fall to this a few years ago. It ended up being something called a Maisonneuve Fracture. The broken leg is pretty quick to heal, but the ligament damage in my ankle required surgery and took forever to heal, plus had about 6 months of PT. Hopefully he's back sooner than me. I still haven't skated since.

JeanetteG the unfortunate thing is with these injuries it doesn't even matter. Huberdeau suffered an Achilles injury years back and only last year did he finally return to what looked like full form, trocheck had a similar injury to Ek but Ek got way luckier where he only just now returned to being a productive forward. I remember when I saw this for the first time. I was on vacation in North Carolina and was watching another NHL game. This came on during an intermission, and I was absolutely horrified. Watching the clip of him landing like that is bad enough, but hearing him scream in agony is even worse, and you can really hear it because the arena is empty. Thank goodness he was able to recover from it. I bet Lindell felt horrible after that. He never wanted anything of this sort to happen.

JeanetteG the unfortunate thing is with these injuries it doesn't even matter. Huberdeau suffered an Achilles injury years back and only last year did he finally return to what looked like full form, trocheck had a similar injury to Ek but Ek got way luckier where he only just now returned to being a productive forward. I wish Ekblad has a full recovery

I remember when I saw this for the first time. I was on vacation in North Carolina and was watching another NHL game. This came on during an intermission, and I was absolutely horrified. Watching the clip of him landing like that is bad enough, but hearing him scream in agony is even worse, and you can really hear it because the arena is empty. Thank goodness he was able to recover from it. I bet Lindell felt horrible after that. He never wanted anything of this sort to happen.
