Thank you so much for talking about Hotch. I lean into your channel a little bit since my souldog passed in October and that absolutely broke me. It's so hard seeing our dogs get old. We still have his littermate brother, he feels like my connection to my souldog... but there are signs of his age creeping up on him now too. Leaving 2023 to enter 2024 was incredibly hard because it felt like I was leaving my boy behind in the previous year. Then my Shepherd is 9 and I see his age creeping up on him too. My Chihuahua is 8, so young all things considered.
I understand how you feel with Hotch, more than I'd like to. Your strength in having so many senior puppies... I have no words, you're amazing.
I can empathize with your situation trying to move. Last year, my husband bought us a house but was sick to the point of not being able to help move or do much of anything. Which left me 8 months pregnant, with two little kids to move. It's all very difficult to go through. You'll get through this. Even when you feel alone, you're not.
So sorry that Hotch is not doing well, holding back the tears here. Stay strong and give him all the love 💕
In our current home search, we've come across some real GEMS of selling agents. Thankfully our realtor, who is actually a family friend, aligns with our thought processes and freaking morals. No dogs means no dogs. Complete sentence. I would never bring mine while someone still lives there, especially if they have dogs too. Kudos to your realtor, because I'd have eviscerated him lol. I have an ex like yours, and I refuse to placate tiny men anymore. Hoping Hotch is able to pull through and make the move with you, I think he will enjoy your new space so much. 💜

We just said goodbye to a 15.5 yr old dog and a week later a 22yr old cat. My other 3 dogs and 2 cats have flourished since they left. I did not realize how much of my time and love the two elders were taking from us. Making the decisions to let them be free was so hard. We had multiple conversations over months…we saw family and neighbors looks and comments but we loved our pets dearly and nothing about it was easy.
What an incredible long life they both had. You gave them that. ❤️ Hotch has had two quality of life appointments with his vet, we are keeping an eye on things and Michael and I have conversations about his health daily. We still see joy in him for his favourite things, but know he is having some bad days. Day by day we access and that’s all we can do. I’m hoping for as much time as he is able to give. I’m so sorry for your loss Shannon. ❤️

I am so sorry for everything you are going through all at once 😟especially Hotch being sick. I feel like every time I move things like this happen too. It’s like you’re not already handling enough already! But as I have always believed, God will never give you more than you can handle. I know that is hard to believe but everything you are going through, you will look back on and realize why it happened at this time. Hold it together girly! We love you!❤

I have a dog and also think its insane to bring the dog on a showing. I didnt think as far as them going in your yard and potentially transfering something but that's incredibly valid. what if you didnt have dogs or were allergic. Even if you didnt ask them not to that's extremely inconsiderate

My 9 year old golden is declining rapidly from cancer and it’s really hard. I read a Reddit comment that said a week or two too early is better than a day too late. I’m not sure if its true but it’s something on my mind. She loves to eat so I feel like when she no longer wants treats that’s a big sign for me. No one including Hotch will feel like you’re leaving him behind. A big move could be hard on him so if he leaves before then I hope you can find comfort in knowing he left in a peaceful familiar place. He’s always been my favorite dog of yours I love his fluffy butt and floppy ears. So sorry you’re going through this now. Hugs ❤
Although I do see the value in “better a week to early” - I have so much guilt surrounding my loss of Girly. I really, still feel to this day I had more time (and it’s been 2 years). What I believe to be true more than that quote is that we will know. They will show us that it’s time, in subtle ways maybe like not wanting to do their favourite things. But Girly taught me to trust my instinct and I’m doing that with Hotch. It is not time, but I’m very aware it’s not far away. I’m grateful for any amount of days he gives me. Trust your gut. You know your dog better than anyone on this earth. ❤️

I feel your pain, I just had to put our 20 year old cat down, I put it off as long as I could but I know he is in a better place with no more pain.

you are a person with a lot of love to give, your dogs all know how much you love them and they love you...keep the positive and dump the negative...the agent is simply a jerk and has no idea how to be co operative..that's his issue not yours...all will work out...time is the great constant...believe and it will be...love and you will be loved......big hugs shutter bug!

Side note - the dogs coming to your house after you explicitly stating no dogs is unbelievably rude!! I can’t even begin to think how I would react to that!
I know what you’re going through. My dog struggled with his hind legs and controlling his bladder. We were managing well and then a neighbor ripped into me that I was being cruel by allowing my dog to suffer. People can be assholes. You are 100% correct about the agent and dogs being brought to your home. Nobody knows your dogs better than you. Keep being you. Get better Hotch! ❤
Hotch's bladder infection has gotten a lot better, happy to report! I know I'm in pallative care with him, he still loves a walk in the yard and dinner and breakfast, he's sleeping a lot but I know he still has time. No one can tell you better, we know our dogs like the back of our hands. ❤️ Thank you for your love.
Ahh Tasha, I feel so bad for you, and the stress you’re going through. I know you think “can things get anymore difficult?”, but keep your eye on the prize. Your move, And being the best puppy mom . Hotch knows how much you love him and so do the other pups. About this #&$%* realtor, when all is said and done and the signature is on the documents, I’d give him a piece of my mind. Clearly the house is going through escrow so why do they need to keep coming back and going through your home again...and again...and again? I'm in the U.S. and that's not how it's done here. Is this a Canadian thing?
I’m not sure exactly but this is pretty normal in Canada. You always get one before close but sometimes people ask for 2. It’s pretty annoying I won’t lie. 😭
Firstly, I LOVE the dark hair on you. It's rich and really plays to your features. Secondly, if you have dogs or not, if you say no animals than that should be reapected. There could be a million reasons why you have made that rule and it isn't their home until the money is transferred and the papers are signed. Until then...you are a guest and should follow and respect the home owners rules. This jack@$$ clearly didn’t get the basic rules of etiquette. Absolutely rediculous.
