    I just got back into Yugioh again a few weeks ago after having not played since 5D’s was still airing. Adjusting to the meta is hard and Sprights and Branded Despia decks have been absolutely destroying me and my Rikka deck. I’m very very happy I found this amazing video. I’m looking forward to making a brand new deck with Tearlaments in the morning 😌

      Im pretty new to yugioh so im still learning but definitely find an answer to card effects that nullify your card effects. It's pretty ubiquitous and frustrating especially since I used to main an Aromage/Rikka combo deck. Nowadays im doing a Madolce/Vernuslyph deck but I'm still extremely vulnerable to effect negation.

    • @KuganeGaming
      @KuganeGaming  Год назад

      @@megzarie Its one of the bad parts of modern day Yugioh, if your deck cannot play through an Ash Blossom or Effect Veiler, then its almost impossible to run it. All I can suggest is to run things like Called by the Grave to try and mitigate the hand traps and just hope for the best. Can't win them all, especially in YGO. So just enjoy the games where they don't have it :)

      @@KuganeGaming tell me about it.
      I was a lightsworn player (actually I was a twilight sworn player even before the name became an archetype) and I would play some chaos cards and dark cards and mill and recycle and play around whatever lady luck provided in my recycling. This made me incredibly unable to predict endgame boards and play how the new tier 1 decks played.
      I did pick up a despia and branded and even swordswoul deck to play them so that I can learn their weaknesses. A lot of times I would rage before that they were hard to beat but I realized later that sometimes there's this crucial moment or card that you can punish on in their combo when they go for core combos or overextend and it would be very bad for them to bounce back from it especially if you don't feed their graveyard or keep them bricked after.
      Why? Because their entire combo is almost always the same, down the the T.
      So I found myself sometimes playing both the critical conbos of known cards but is also splice in some unknowns like metalfoes fusion draw or grass is greener or lightsworn tuner lady that's level 3 (forgot her name), other archetypes in same deck even going above the usual 40 card combo.
      It made my combos less consistent, 100%, and I would brick or start slow more often with those cards than the core "same combo" cards. However it made it also easier for me to let luck draw me an out or extend with backup plans from the grave or just straight up become unpredictable for the enemy so they can't tell if the same critical events are the same events they want to hit with disruptions or not.
      So while I became inconsistent, I did find myself getting disrupted less frequently to brickable states.
      The reason I'm telling you this story is because tearlaments, to me, plays right into my lightsworns and graveyard RNG milling mentality.
      And while many hate them because they are tier 0 now (honestly I blame ishizu cards more than anything) then at least play with the deck knowing that it got his by one of the biggest ban lists ever, and play to have fun and play chaotically my dude or dudette.
      Don't play the same combos that become redundant and boring and bring some new flavor even if it's less consistent or doesn't symergise 100%.
      Like throw in some cyber dragons in there and go for a metallic graveyard deck (I called it a scrapyard deck before... Again. Before Konami copyrighted that into am archetype again lol).
      Or play it with some silly zombies or lightsworns or whacky other decks.
      Have fun. Because they all cried about branded despia and swordsoul and DPE Destiny phoenix enforcer (I did at first too} until they played those cards and bricked themselves too and found how to play around them.
      And have fun! That's what matters.
      If you're tryharding without fun then your not putting your heart in the cards.

    • @KuganeGaming
      @KuganeGaming  Год назад +1

      @@iCyberDev A friend in the competitive scene once told me, "To get lucky, you need to give yourself the chance to get lucky."
      Playing something that is less consistent but has higher payoffs can get you far in a big event. So I'm quite a fan of decks that do cool stuff but have a slightly higher chance of bricking. Ultimately you just need to do well like 6 out of 7 rounds anyway.

    • @iCyberDev
      @iCyberDev Год назад

      @@KuganeGaming i like that statement. IT reminds me of this joke actually where someone would constantly be praying for and they would ask them to win the lottery ticket over and over for days.
      finally, months later, that Divine figure just drops into his DMs while he's sleeping and goes "for the love of all that is holy, if you want me to help you win the lottery, BUY A GODDAMN CARD."
      So it's always hilarious how we externalize inconsistencies or bad outcomes but we do not give ourselves a chance to get lucky most of hte time, in favor of playing min-max situations with someone else striving for the exact same outcome.

    Yay an actual guide to sad mermaids the deck! Now I don't have to trawl through YT and glean what I can from other people playing as much.
    I find these kinds of "unstable" decks a bit difficult for me nowadays. Lack of options is one thing but a plethora of options confuses the whole operation.
    You never know what you are going to end on, and when you might've bricked yourself but it also opens up variables in play, stretching your thinking to the max. It is a bit fustrating when you can't achieve a good board tho lol

    • @KuganeGaming

      In the beginning its quite hard to judge things like... Do I just fetch a trap with Kitkallos and call it a day? Or do I go for that Merrli? But with the Ishizu engine it has become so consistent to continue milling, its almost a no-brainer to keep going, lol.

    OK, so I had to leave another comment because I have watched this video a few times now. I love how you do your videos. You’re not trying to rush like most content creators. You’re not hyperbolic or over enthusiastic like most Contin creator. The woman who does the voiceover work in this video is very well read and she speaks with a lot of energy and emotion, to the point where I actually want to try out this deck and I haven’t played since last year. Finally a Contant creator that isn’t trying to be through to get to the end of a video, just because the audience might have a short attention span. You will definitely be seeing more of me. And I would like to make a request, I would like to hear this person do a video on sky strikers, my beloved sky strikers I think it would be really cool other than that, keep doing what you do and I will keep listening because I’m starting to want to play again, and it’s all your fault lol.
