i think that's not true - many people would have already known his music - it just would've taken a few years longer without Mendelsohn and would have simply been someone else who would have 'rediscovered the genius blah blah blah'...

Delightful and sublime! Have loved all Yuan Sheng’s renditions of Bach (also Partitas, French Suites, Goldberg Variations so far... have I missed any other album?). So glad Bach did not stop or peak at Glenn Gould, who was brilliant.

Try the Partitas with Sheng. Better recording I think. So buoyant. But this still is wonderful too. Same engineer I bet.
