@@TheAverageAngler. I've just started using the entire line line without a leader. Mono is good and braid is awesome. Here's my trick. A red spike it garlic scented marker dying about 6ft of my high vis braid. Just add more weight if you need a faster fall.
That is a cool tool definitely makes a difference when it comes to tying a solid knot. Thanks you for the tips and like I said in your other video the almight is definitely a game changer. Thanx AA, I've been using the double uni for a long time because of eyesight and arthritis in my hands(fingers don't work like they used too). They say that the double uni is a weak knot but seems fine to me. When it cost me a fish maybe I'll change
I have a few friends that use a double uni and it works for them. I tried another know that a friend tried to teach me and it failed, so I stick with what I know.
These fundamental things knots,line hooks,weight,rod, reels almost 30 years into fishing what's most important all of it.... fishing like everything is it's own club or school u either understand or your on the outside looking in....
Do attach line to spool with the old school arbor knot... I saw a different knot the other day but I lost the link what your process??? I normally blood knot if I have more time if not double uni on the water braid to leader or line to line as long as it's all pulled tight and trimmed I rarely have a problem ......
Has anyone heard the Ledbetter story about "are you going to stand there or are you going to fish". I'm still wondering the best knot for dynamite casting. "WARNING " Don't throw it under the boat you're standing in. Seriously Shawn thanks man

Ask Richard Gene The Fishing Machine about a uni knot. I've never watched his line break

I use what I call a fisherman’s knot to the spool. It’s simple fast and works well.
