From someone who regularly freeskates at my local roller skating rink, I get a ton of reactions and questions. Would love to see you guys tour around the US making lots of these videos.
Love the contrasting styles: Rosie with more 'strokes', and Jack with more languid 'toes in, toes out' action. Am REALLY getting obsessed with free skating (as a commute) and have been devouring all the videos (but am an old dude with atrocious balance [have fallen off skateboards so many times] so I'm scared I'm gonna break bones) Thanks Gabe🙏🏻, for panning down to feet level (eg. at 4:10) for some technical scrutiny.
I gotta agree with Rosie that I normally skate with headphones and not a lot of time, but I have had quite a few people ask me what they are especially older people and I always try to explain Freeskating. But even the people fit enough to try them are often too intimidated saying "They'd break their legs" or something of the sort.
I just transferred to ucsd this year and freeskating these hills is so hard 😭, adjusting has taken a lot getting used to but I’m glad my class schedule this quarter gives me time to go to the Thursday meetups
@@NotYoMama_ lmao, that is a funny comment, but no need to facepalm, clearly english isn't their first language. My guess is that in their language, the verb for riding is the same as for walking, so when riding freeskates they'd say something like "I'm walking with freeskates". The verb probably is more about the act of moving from point A to point B by yourself rather than the actual act of walking. If they have to specify that they're walking, they'll probably say something like "walking with the feet". I'm not from Kazakhstan but my language works like that.
