  • Hi, I'm Peter 😊. If you enjoy this video, please leave a like and subscribe to see more videos. Feel free to leave a comment or question below. More: / @peterfritzphoto . Despite what you might think, daytime landscape photography is possible. You don't have to shoot at sunrise or sunset.
The thing is, landscape photography is really good for our mental, physical, and emotional health, but shooting at dawn or dusk is often not an option due to family commitments, work, geography, or other factors. For some, the only option to get out there is in the middle of a Saturday.
So how do you shoot interesting images during the day - especially when it's clear and sunny? That's what this video is about.

Sometimes when travelling, say road trip, one has to shoot middle of day so this is very useful video. I also love Nigel Danson’s work. Thanks for this

I follow a lot of photographers and learn a lot from these types of videos. This one was so unique. I felt like I was actually there and can feel/understand the search for a good composition. I, like many others, can mostly shoot with the harsh daylight. I have driven 90 minutes to a waterfall and hated the lighting and tossed my photos. But this video has given me a different perspective. There are great images out there, you just need to know where/how to look for them with this unlight. Thank you!

Thanks a lot, CJ - that's a really nice thing to say. Yeah, we can't always shoot at golden hour or blue hour, so learning to find beauty - and capture it - in bright daylight takes a lot of the pressure off.

Another great video Peter, this is the first video I hear you talking about spiders and snakes, which are always the two first things I think about when I hear the word Australia. It’s not that I’m particularly scared of ’em but rather I have a huge fascination with animals and wildlife of all kinds, I love a video when you have these wallabies(?) jumping around in the background. So Peter, tell me, do you run into these Australian lethal, poisonous, critters during your photography sessions?

I'm bloody scared of 'em, I can tell you!! And yes, I do encounter them from time to time. The King Brown snake is a common sight, and Redback spiders are everywhere. Those critters you saw hopping around were Kangaroos, which exist mostly in open areas. We have thousands of them just 5 minutes from my house. Wallabies exist more in the mountainous regions like the High Country. Thanks for watching and always contributing to the conversation, Magnus. Take care, mate.

If I am out in the landscape during the day which is very rare I use the Sunny 16 rule.Works all the time.

Awesome video Peter. I thought the intro was fantastic - so professional. I don't know if it was deliberate, but the lens flare while you were talking at the start was pretty cool too. FYI, great subject matter. I'm forced to shoot during the day, so this video was right up my alley.

Thank you, mate - I'm trying to do the best job I can. Still lots to learn, but I'm enjoying the challenge. Not intentional re the flare (I like it, too); just lucky! :-)

@@peterviragphoto I think it's still active, but it's flaky and unpredictable, so you definitely can't rely on it during ActiveTrack.

@@peterfritzphoto i might have remembered incorrectly or they might have changed that via one of the firmware updates, no idea😃. All I remember that during intelligent flight modes obstacle avoidance used to be disabled on my PP4 Pro ( initially ). Anyway I still love the way you captured the car, worked flawlessly😉
