But Roger seems to think streaming has only been around since a year ago so I think it's more likely he's just not caught up with it. I hope he never does learn about it, I wish I didn't. Why is this modern era have to be so.. gross.
Remember that brief period when streaming was new and you could just stream to a couple friends (and the occasional stranger who happened to like the game you chose) for fun? Just doing it to chill and chat without it being a requirement that you make a ton of money doing it? Those were good times.
I mean, you can still do that. You don't HAVE to grind towards turning streaming into a job. Alternatively you can just do screenshare through discord, and then you don't have to worry about any strangers either.
This is true for letsplays and youtube videos in general too. But people can and still do all that, it just doesn’t get seen since they don’t rack up views (since that’s not even the intent and most people actually trying can barely get views). Also, you can stream privately to your friends on stuff like discord which is convenient when you’re in a call together anyway
The parasocialism thing is too real, Its fine to support your favorite streamers but always remember there's a reason the phrase "touch grass" exists. Also, don't feel obligated to donate to your favorite streamer (especially if you don't have the extra funds to do so) or catch every single one of their streams. Just showing up to their streams whenever you have some free time is still showing your support.
LMFAO Best one yet, especially at 1:08. I thought about launching a stream of my own, but there's no f*ing way I can look good for 12 hours straight, nor would I want to.
There is an unspoken truth about this reality that should be brought to everyone's attention , which is that devs can be major contributors (aka donators) in some cases when they want to boost the rating of a specific streamer or promote their game(s) , which if find very manipulative.
I don't know how much Roger is making, but it's not enough. The man is a god damn treasure. 💯 would watch Roger stream. Have learned nothing from this video. Take my money!
Roger, please do an episode 'If Recyclers Were Honest' to bring light to the fact they sell recyclable plastics to nations Like Laos (who don't have recycling facilities) who simply dumps the trash back into rivers and the ocean
Another golden bit of Roger Truth. Twitch (well all of them) is a bizarre place but you pretty much nailed it about who the majority is that sits on that thing. The parasocial part is the part that boggles my mind when I have visited that odd world. People really be delusional in feeling they actually have a connection with the streamer. Then you have the ones that do donos just to get a little morsel of attention from the chat and especially from the streamer. Love the ones that actually donate to talk about important situations in their lives just to have the streamer validate them for all of 60 seconds. Streamer sits there acknowledging the situation that they'll forget about 6 seconds after talking about the dono. Not sure what posses people to throw $$$ at these people.

This man is a gem! Thank you Roger for your tireless work pointing out our collective stupidity & ignorance!! 🙏
Roger getting out that contract one way or another 😂😂 👍🏿
And they didn't even touch on the new npc trend. "Yuummy hotdog"
🍿
Nothing make me wish for a purge on humanity more than that degenerate garbage, so I'm not surprised they didn't talk about it.
But Roger seems to think streaming has only been around since a year ago so I think it's more likely he's just not caught up with it. I hope he never does learn about it, I wish I didn't. Why is this modern era have to be so.. gross.
We need an "If Big Tiddy Goth Girlfriends Were Honest" video.
Mainly so I can see Roger dressed up as one.
This is painfully, too accurate. Another great hit from Roder.😂
"Or my big tiddy goth girlfriend" never thought I'd hear Roger say that😂
“Your a hobbiest that got lucky a year ago” oof, I feel that one. I did LPs when I was in High School, never took off but it was fun.
Uhhh- I’m an isolated MARRIED man with a boring job thank you very much
💀
Mate, seriously!
I have asthma.
Are you trying to kill me?! 😂
1:19 I love how first isn't first
2:34 - Is that a reference to the 27 year old celebrity curse? Now that's a deep cut
I'll be honest.. that's about the only streamer I'd ever watch, right there.
We meet again... We always meet again
He forgot to say I've been Roger
1:25 "Try not to say anything racist challenge" sounds like most streams.
"I miss the old cracked- I mean..."
this line hit harder than any other
Remember that brief period when streaming was new and you could just stream to a couple friends (and the occasional stranger who happened to like the game you chose) for fun? Just doing it to chill and chat without it being a requirement that you make a ton of money doing it? Those were good times.
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Nothing gold can stay.
wasn't there a limit to how many people could be in a chat room back then?
I mean, you can still do that. You don't HAVE to grind towards turning streaming into a job.
Alternatively you can just do screenshare through discord, and then you don't have to worry about any strangers either.
This is true for letsplays and youtube videos in general too.
But people can and still do all that, it just doesn’t get seen since they don’t rack up views (since that’s not even the intent and most people actually trying can barely get views). Also, you can stream privately to your friends on stuff like discord which is convenient when you’re in a call together anyway
If streaming was honest, if the pigs could fly... xD
Also, you don't OWE them support. You should watch because you enjoy it, not because you feel obligated to.
The way he pushed him out the chair 😂😂😂😂
Are you winning son¿
First, and this video reminds me of Twitch to a T.
LMFAO Best one yet, especially at 1:08. I thought about launching a stream of my own, but there's no f*ing way I can look good for 12 hours straight, nor would I want to.
Nowadays yo can be wide eyed saylor moon allday through
Just be a vtuber or pngtuber streamer
Roger is a great actor! Great to see him back on YT 😂
There is an unspoken truth about this reality that should be brought to everyone's attention , which is that devs can be major contributors (aka donators) in some cases when they want to boost the rating of a specific streamer or promote their game(s) , which if find very manipulative.
these are getting better and better each video
We need a live Roger stream!!!
Don't forget to berate and belittle your viewers for not donating $5, "because they're poor."
I don't know how much Roger is making, but it's not enough. The man is a god damn treasure. 💯 would watch Roger stream. Have learned nothing from this video. Take my money!
How did I miss this one? I love it! lolz!
Roger should have streamed this skit.
The second guy in chat saying “first” was spot on.
Roger is literally who I want to be when im old.
Roger, please do an episode 'If Recyclers Were Honest' to bring light to the fact they sell recyclable plastics to nations Like Laos (who don't have recycling facilities) who simply dumps the trash back into rivers and the ocean
Uncanny. I feel like I'm actually watching a twitch stream
"I miss the old Cracked" daaaaamn lol
I was so nostalgically happy to hear them say that, then I just felt sad.
@@oxymoron02 Same. I hunted down all the 'formers' on other socials when they left. Most are honestly doing better now, thankfully.
@@kurtweeks6812 Yeah I can believe that, I've been in places with sinking ship syndrome and I'd been worried about Cracked before the Scripps buyout.
Had fun rewatching a bunch of After Hours too, but the comments have devolved over the last few years into just idiots who don't get the criticisms aren't made with any serious conviction.
Live streaming makes 1.2 billion a year, Roger push his ass out that chair so hard I just lost it.😂
Roger truly is a cracked streamer
I'd happily watch roger stream just about anything!
As a former streamer, yes, this is exactly it. This is exactly how this goes. Yes.
Did the gig at least pay well? Or was it just mainly for fun?
@@Jestrath Streaming does not pay well at all for 99% of the streamers. I did it for fun, but burned out when I tried to move on to it being "professional"
Yup, it’s about popularity, that’s what it is.
The dude with the mullet is giving Ezra Miller's trailer park cousin! 😆😂😂
"impulsively throwing your savings at me for the slightest shred of attention" This is literally how advertising works.
Rodger forgot that the video essayists have a beef with him and they put out 3 hour videos once a month telling people he isn't their friend.
