Nah man, they don’t get to blame this shit on DeMar. This mess is on AK and Jerry Reinsdorf, their lack of vision, negotiating ability, and pursuit of short term profits over winning. Now people wanna give the FO credit for trying to rebuild with no ability to add free agents and not having stockpiled first round picks? Ok.
Injuries derailed the vision. You can blame Reinsdorf all you want, and I tend to agree anytime he takes blame, but this is not on him. He empowered AK/ME to do what it took to win. We were the best team in the league after 40+ games with Lonzo, Lavine, Demar, PWill and Vooch. It was working. Injuries, not lack of vision cost us this time.

@@DJProphetNM I’m tired of hearing this refrain. The Bulls had a terrible record against playoff teams that season, even when they were at the top of the east. They were entertaining and winning but they were bumslaying. Second, with the Lonzo injury being so devastating, there’s no reason to keep running back a squad that apparently needs him this badly. They could have pivoted two years ago but chose not to. That’s on AK.

I believe this season’s bulls team will not need to intentionally lose or (tank), it will happen pretty organically. For the simple fact that they’re a young team where many of the key players have not played together, they will be forced into roles they’re not accustomed to, plus there isn’t a quality veteran presence on the team to keep them mentally and emotionally focused when losing does occur. And I don’t think Donovan will be that type of coach that would right the ship, or at least he hasn’t shown he is.
And growth will come with that if the right approach and leadership comes with it.
And considering the Bulls really don’t have a lot of future draft capital (and it doesn’t seem as though they are interested in obtaining any) it would be to their best interest to take advantage of the 2025 first round pick they own in the top 10.
I mean what does it benefit to gain a 9th seed just to lose in the play-in…again.

Get assets for Vuc and Graig. Let Zach run with the young prospects with a hope for LaVine's stock to go higher then trade him. Definitely play the young cores.

I would agree, although I don’t think LaVine will improve his value around the league with just his play alone. But what can happen is between the start of the season and trade deadline, injuries can occur on playoff bound teams and if Zach just plays his average game of 20ppg and low turnovers, a team needing to improve their offensive production will be willing to trade for him and the Bulls should maximize their return on him if at all possible.

Mates is skilled think we have a piece. going to have to play 3 to start as is very thin and did get pushed around bit by strong players. once builds strength will be able to see his impact more fully
I mean i dont know what to think here, demar said many times before he got traded that he wanted to win here but at the same time i cant remember the last time any player on the bulls roster has had ANY kind of real pull with the FO.

I'm not mad about keeping LaVine, I'd just rather not keep him, Ball, and Vuc on the books. Our starting 5 will basically be the same as last year except we have Giddey at the point and lost DeMar- i assume we would just move Zach to the three. And Lonzo is still an unknown.

I would not trade lavine for nothing just yet. Idk but I have a feeling he’s going to go off this season something tells me, maybe out of anger & not feel wanted by any other teams, he’s going to go off. Trade him mid season. Vuc & Carter would be the 2 main players that need to be shopped asap

At least our draft pick is okay, and has potential. Fans have to live with one thing: Winning is not a priority with this organization--money is the priority. Bargain sigings are the norm, and the hope is to get enough butts in the seats to make a profit. They sent Caruso away because they'd have to pay him, so in comes Giddey on a rookie deal. Signing the absurdly low-motor Williams to a bargain deal is vintage Bulls. The one time they did spend money, the spent it on Lavine, and he's all but untradeable. This is an organization in a freefall. Do free agents want to come to an organization like this? No, not now.

Trade wasn’t excellent but good and the majority of our youth is in the backcourt. Zack needs to be gone first and keep vuch as a screener for the younger guys. Even though they both need to be gone. I’m cool with keeping lavine aslong as he is moved as soon as possible
