Something I've always wanted to see a Sontaran have was an eyepatch. I did a drawing of a Sontaran many years ago and added an eyepatch as an afterthought but it looked so effective.
I have seen someone else do one too and to be honest I'm on the fence about it, it did look good but the thing with Sontarans is I always thought they would wear their battle scars with pride which is why I decided to give mine leader a scar :)
True although in reality it would either be uncovered or made from fabric that could breathe...otherwise it would be fairly pointless for them to wear a cape haha
Thanks, although these aren't intended to be Movie Daleks, although they are loosely based on them. I have done actually Live From The Workshop videos on my proper Movie Dalek customs :)
I don't sell any of my customs unless advertised as for sale in a video, and I don't currently take commissions for customs nor do I have any plans to do so in future. When I have sold them in the past depending on what kind of custom it is and how much I had to spend on making it determines how much the sale price is, but to reiterate I don't currently have any customs for sale nor do I plan to sell anymore soon
i like that the base on the special weapons dalek has blue trim above it, if it was in the show it looks like it would be lit up and glowing, really cool looking. Fantastic job.
Thanks, that was actually just a way of getting it to fit inside the larger new series base haha it would look interesting if it glowed, but in relationship to my series it is just coloured
No, I just use the LEDs in place of the lights for their shape but if someone was so electronically minded they could probably wire them in to light up
The Mechanoid : thanks and to be honest I just get them wherever I can, you've just got the shop around. eBay is often good but it all depends on how much you're willing to pay Luckily over the years I've managed to make contact with a few people who sell figures and parts that can get me parts when I need them (and if they can get them) at a reduced price
Great customs, the special weapons dalek did appear in the first 2 episode of the last series, it wasn't redesigned but it did speak unlike the mccoy story
Indeed it did, but when I said new series I meant a new series version rather than reusing the old classic prop, however the Witches Familiar SWD is actually a whole new prop whilst the original is on display at the DW Experience. As far as a redesign goes the Witches Familiar version was redesigned slightly, the underdome part was raised slightly in order to accommodate the lights inside, which is why the gaps appear to be taller than the classic prop. Also the base of the dome segment has been rotated by 90 degrees meaning the small oblong panels at the side of the classic prop are now at the front and back, however this may just be a production oversight as the classic prop on display at the experience also has this feature.
I realise those slight tweeks were there, like you said oversights, and accommodation of newer elaments, I do have to say I did like seeing it and the others
You may already been aware of it but this site a great resource for information on Daleks and the guys that run it can recognise any Dalek on sight! It's really impressive! www.dalek6388.co.uk/the-new-series-the-magicians-apprentice-the-witchs-familiar/
If you watch my first audio series custom video (which you can find up my Custom Figure Showcase or audio series extras playlist) you can see my audio series Cybermen, who are actually appearing the most recent episode, and I have finished my second console room and will be showing it off in the coming months
Great video I have ideas for customs you can try if you what you could reprint the 1960s dalek to make it black and white and you could possibly make a animated dalek using a destiny of the Dalek Dalek (because of the gray) but it's up to you
Thanks, and thanks for the suggestions but the black and white Dalek isn't really something I'd do partly because there's not much to it and partly because it's already been done as an official figure as part of a two pack with the First Doctor. As for the animated Dalek I have thought about doing something along those lines however in the upcoming Power Of The Daleks they use a cell-shading style animation for the Daleks which means there are very "shadow heavy" and unfortunately it would be hard to replicate that by hand, it would mean that it would have to be viewed from one particular perspective to get the right effect
Not sure if this helps but there is a documentary on genesis of the daleks, I think it's called the dalek tapes bug it tells you every type, and sorry but silver is classed as the scientific core of the daleks, like the death daleks/daleks daleks, the drones or grunts are typically the genesis - remembrance daleks
I have seen that and rewatched it myself recently and you are right about it saying that the silver Daleks form a scientific core, however when looking back over many early stories before the grey renegade daleks appeared, the silver Daleks does perform many functions, both scientific and general. As with most "out of universe" evidence like documentaries I think it's often down to personal interpretation, plus with my audio series it is set outside the TV or any other universes so I don't have to worry about following the continuity of the existing series
I guess but most of the early episode were focused around scientific areas I realise you don't have to adhere to the series as it is your own take just like many others have done
True, although it still does raise a few questions here and there, and no worries, I've just gotten used to saying that as many people often assume my series is linked to the existing one haha
(Just a suggestion for your tardis) exterior maybe you could add a schorch mark to the bottom right hand side ( the viewer's right) as when i here the audio series intro i imagne a very deadly time vortex which makes sense because the tardis breeching time itself which would probably fight back. Way i see it is a sort of mix between pertwee and smith s5 to s7a
Not really something I'd do to be honest, the TARDIS exterior is slightly scuffed but I don't want it to be like the War Doctor's TARDIS all worn torn and battered, I prefer it just to look old
My audio series is set completely aside from the tv series or any other established canon, basically taking place in an entire alternate universe, simply because then it gives me complete creative continuity as to what happens without having to adhere to any established existing canon. The specific incarnation of my Doctor is also deliberately left ambiguous, he's definitely not the first or second, but that doesn't mean he's necessarily the third, he could be the 3rd or he could be the 11th or the 24th or the 231st or even the 7383rd. There is a reason it's deliberately left unknown but it will be revealed in a future story. As for the Time War I don't have any plans at present or future time to write the Time War into my series but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened, it might have already happened and gone unmentioned, it might happen in future or it might never happen, until I decide to address the idea myself even I don't know the status of the Time War in my universe.
The currently released episodes are available here on RUclips, if you check out my playlists you can find one for all the currently released episodes there
Unfortunately not something I can do, partly because I don't have all my customs anymore some have been sold, others have been reused for parts, but mainly because it's not really something I want to do as I don't see the point in showing customs I've already shown on my channel before, sorry
Not so actually, the colour scheme was a mix of the 60s blue & silver colour scheme, with elements of the Death To The Daleks colour scheme thrown in and changed up, the inclusion of large dome lights was actually due to making them look more imposing and because some spares used to make them didn't have any lights on them
My email address is on my About page or you can drop me a message via my Facebook page, however due to personal commitments I am not always able to reply to messages straightaway but I will do my best to respond to you as soon as I am able
I'd rather you didn't try to start a trend of just getting random number comments on this video, please. Someone started it on one of my other videos and it pretty much took over the whole comments section.
Love the customs. I've got to say the Sontaran looks good with a cape. I'm surprised that the show has never thought of it.
Menko Monty : thanks and agreed it would look really good, very centurion warrior like which would suit them perfectly!
Those Daleks are the best look yet! Noice work on the supreme and the special weapons
Thanks, I'm really pleased with how they've come out :) again something similar to what we've already seen but fairly unique to my series :)
The cape for the sontarans are good idea as it hides the probic vent making it harder to take advantage of
True although in reality it would either be uncovered or made from fabric that could breathe...otherwise it would be fairly pointless for them to wear a cape haha
These are the best you have ever done.
Thanks
You are welcome. You are going to take forever with reviewing every single doctor who story.
It will probably be 2-4 years worth of your channel.
Pamela Carroll Indeed but that's the point, it means my channel will have new content in some form available for many years to come :)
Yeah I know.I can't wait until you review the tomb of the cybermen and power of the daleks as their my favourite Patrick Troughton stories.
I love the sontarans with the capes. It makes them look so cool.
It does suit them military style, and would be a good way to denote higher ranks too!
cool figuers mate cant wait for more
Thanks!
CaptainJimiPie great video mate loved them all
DoctorWho 101 Thanks!
WOOAAH awesome really love the sontarans and rutans
Thanks :)
You're welcome
they look amazing
and the sontarons look better that the proper sontarons and cape looks good on them
Thanks!
love your figures. cool movie daleks
Thanks, although these aren't intended to be Movie Daleks, although they are loosely based on them. I have done actually Live From The Workshop videos on my proper Movie Dalek customs :)
I love the sontarons they look great well done!
Thanks!
how much do you sell your custom for?
I don't sell any of my customs unless advertised as for sale in a video, and I don't currently take commissions for customs nor do I have any plans to do so in future.
When I have sold them in the past depending on what kind of custom it is and how much I had to spend on making it determines how much the sale price is, but to reiterate I don't currently have any customs for sale nor do I plan to sell anymore soon
It is so obvious that the spy Master fits into this point in his timeline 😮
Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean?
i like that the base on the special weapons dalek has blue trim above it, if it was in the show it looks like it would be lit up and glowing, really cool looking.
Fantastic job.
Thanks, that was actually just a way of getting it to fit inside the larger new series base haha it would look interesting if it glowed, but in relationship to my series it is just coloured
How did you make the head lights on the daleks?
They are just normal 5mm LED's which can be bought in various places online and in stores
Does that mean there lights actually light up?
No, I just use the LEDs in place of the lights for their shape but if someone was so electronically minded they could probably wire them in to light up
I was doing a few customs Myself earlier.I got my Dalek collectors set 1 and 2 and took all 6 daleks apart and swapped the parts about.
Cool, swapping parts is always a good way to start
Yeah they have all turned out pretty good but I can't get the screws off of the black and gold supreme:(.
Pamela Carroll To be honest I wouldn't take that one apart if I was you! They're worth a fair bit these days!
Yeah.He goes for £50 on eBay.I managed to get him the daleks collectors set 1 back in January and I paid £65 for it.
Anyway keep doing these dalek customs as they get better every time I see it them. You are way better than me:).
This just makes me wonder more why they went with blues for the Sontaran redesigns
Probably just to make them stand out a bit more, I actually quite like the blue personally
These look really good! The red dalek is beautifully done, excellent work on that. Quick question, where do you buy your classic daleks from?
The Mechanoid : thanks and to be honest I just get them wherever I can, you've just got the shop around.
eBay is often good but it all depends on how much you're willing to pay
Luckily over the years I've managed to make contact with a few people who sell figures and parts that can get me parts when I need them (and if they can get them) at a reduced price
CaptainJimiPie Thank you!
They are pretty good
Thanks

Love them. I have two questions 1 Will we ever to see audio series cybermen? and 2 have you finished your second audio series console room.
If you watch my first audio series custom video (which you can find up my Custom Figure Showcase or audio series extras playlist) you can see my audio series Cybermen, who are actually appearing the most recent episode, and I have finished my second console room and will be showing it off in the coming months

Jamie No worries, thanks for the suggestions anyway

Of course every one has there own personal preference and also what incranation is your audio series doctor and did the time war still happen?
My audio series is set completely aside from the tv series or any other established canon, basically taking place in an entire alternate universe, simply because then it gives me complete creative continuity as to what happens without having to adhere to any established existing canon.

You should make a medic Dalek?
Someone else suggested that too but to be honest it's not really something that would interest me, sorry
those sontarans look bad ass
Thanks :)
What episode does the sontaran appear in
The Sontaran's have yet to appear in the series, but they will be in future episodes
How can i listen to your audio series sounds intresting
The currently released episodes are available here on RUclips, if you check out my playlists you can find one for all the currently released episodes there
hi, just wanted to tell you that I have finished part one of my Celestial toymaker animation
Cool, I'll take a look at some point
CaptainJimiPie Thank you!
SouthPark333Gaming No worries :)
Do a video on every custom ever!
Unfortunately not something I can do, partly because I don't have all my customs anymore some have been sold, others have been reused for parts, but mainly because it's not really something I want to do as I don't see the point in showing customs I've already shown on my channel before, sorry
How can I listen to your audio series
It's available here on my channel, if you look under my playlists you'll find one for all episodes of Series 1 released so far
They are all based on the movie daleks
Not so actually, the colour scheme was a mix of the 60s blue & silver colour scheme, with elements of the Death To The Daleks colour scheme thrown in and changed up, the inclusion of large dome lights was actually due to making them look more imposing and because some spares used to make them didn't have any lights on them
Hay do you have an email cos if its okay could you give me feed back for my customs
My email address is on my About page or you can drop me a message via my Facebook page, however due to personal commitments I am not always able to reply to messages straightaway but I will do my best to respond to you as soon as I am able
do you live in Sweden? I'm Norwegain!
I used to but I live back in the UK now
So do you live in Sweden now or are you living in England
I was living in Sweden but I moved back to England a couple of years ago now
John Pertwee!
I'd rather you didn't try to start a trend of just getting random number comments on this video, please. Someone started it on one of my other videos and it pretty much took over the whole comments section.
Ok
Thank you

Well done...
FIRST!
Good for you...
