Rue Sonata | A Home Birth Story

After a first hospital birth this momma was hoping to stay in the zone for her second and have a home birth and dang was she in her zone.
I arrived early in the morning to the sounds of birth, after gauging the vibe in the home and getting my gear set up it wasn't long until the sounds of transition were in full affect and everyone popped their head in to check on mom who up until this moment had been laboring on the dilation station (toilet).
Dad quickly helped her to the birth tub and it felt like moments later the midwife was guiding her baby girl into her arms. Like clockwork we head the voice of her oldest daughter and dad swooper her up to come meet her sister.
I am always so humbled to witness birth and see families grow and expand and especially thankful when I get to do this in the comfort of their home. From the care given, to the tiny humans I get to be-friend to the utter strength and surrender of birth. This birth was so dang beautiful.
