I saw Abel and Manchester Collective perform for the first time last night in NYC and the experience was absolutely mesmerizing. I was almost sad when I realized the concert was ending, but I shifted my focus to gratitude to witness their talent. 1000/10 would do this again!
Not only is he a phenomenal musician, he really knows how to work the crowd! As a previous commenter pointed out, the crowd is small b/c it was the height of COVID, but he and the band evidently didn't let that dampen their spirits. He and the band have a great rapport, which also makes it wonderful to watch.
Beautiful and inspiring. Truly a symbiotic fusion in between Africa's tribal music and classic European music. In a sense music has connected and brought together in peace continent of colonized and colonists. This is why music is such a powerful tool by bringing people together if done right... music is truly a language of a human soul and goes far beyond traditional spoken language. Thank you for sharing this musical experience!👏👍
At this time in 2021 it was almost impossible to celebrate such performances, as we were in lockdown because of Corona……really wonder how they managed to be allowed to perform at all!
I found you last night Abel. Wow, feeling your spirit. I had a dream last night and I met you it was like I was connecting into a different version of reality. Epic to meet you hahahaha
I watched a video where it was explained that usually the orchestra he usually works with memorizes most of the pieces because they are extremely difficult (or maybe near impossible) to put on sheet music

you played the works of the Danish String Quartet, but you did not specify them
before that, only other authors. how is it called?
is there a track ID for this performance? that first song! incredible!
First song : Qhawe, album Where is home
The Track at 17:50 is Old Reinlender from Sonndala and 38:35 is O Fredrik, O Fredrik, both from the Danish String Quartett, Album Wood Works
@ikomena Any idea what the song around the 46 minute mark is? The hela eh one?
