      +Marta A. Yes, those designers are expensive, but they were also used as structured examples in the video. I never said it was a necessity to purchase in order to dress-up a look.

    Christie, Great ideas! But pointed high heels are killers when you reach 75....so sad as they were a staple when I was a bit younger. Thank-you for mentioning how important taking care of your hands and nails is. So many great ideas (I already said that, but so true). +Jann thank! I do wear slides in some of my videos, but not frequently. I do like heels, and wear them frequently in my day-to-day, but it’s not a requirement for everyone. There are lots of great medium to low heel/flat options out there. I’ll definitely try and include them more for you all. Thanks for the feedback!

People can spend a lot of money 💰 but miss the easier ones! You have a lovely look ! I just love how to put items together! I'm 55 and working on revising and simplifying my wardrobe with " less is more!" I'm dying to know- are you petite like me? I am 5'1" and usually a size 8

    Christie, u r spot on with the pointed toe. May I add, I no longer can wear heels, 44 years in the hair industry, so I’ve started looking at “kitten heels” and even though I’m petite, these kitten heels look GREAT , especially if I’m wearing straight leg jeans. And oh yeah, the nail art really needs to go. Nothing about pictures on your nails looks classy! I just found you am looking forward to more advice from you, thank u

    I really relate to the issues of fabric and fit. Not only does fit make a huge difference in how polished a person looks, but fabric also matters. Drape is amazingly important in how flattering a garment is, and for long term use a good quality fabric makes such a big difference. Some fabrics just look awful after a year of wear (some sweaters???) or a few washes. For me it’s really worth it to make sure the fabrics I bring into my own closet are good ones. I can’t wear shoes as pointy as the pumps you showed, but there are many nice options between really pointy and drab round toes, I think.

    Your look is amazing - your makeup & hair are absolutely Gorgeous - and very classic including your hair!
    Perhaps you could include a list of makeup & hair products (both the Brands & the specific colors) which you're using in this video? That would be tremendously helpful for those of us wishing to borrow from your lovely & very classic makeup & hair styling (but who need to adapt the specific colors to our own hair & skin tones).
    Thanks so much for a wonderfully helpful video!

    As a jeweller, it's classier to wear just one piece of jewellery at a time - either earrings OR one necklace OR one statement ring OR a bracelet / bangle. You can get away with tiny stud earrings with another piece of jewellery, but they do have to be small and plain. Wearing more than one necklace at a time is more like showing off your wealth, which is never a classy look.

    Great video, thank you! You look amazing and that hair color is on point! Regarding your comments on fabric. I agree that the fabric and drape definitely affect the overall look of a piece. Inexpensive rayon has a tendency to accentuate any lumps and bumps and figure flaws, as well as thin denim, and acrylic looks cheap and usually pills after 1 wash and or wear. Also, the more inexpensive fabrics used to make summer skirts and dresses can be very sheer requiring a slip to be worn, which cancels out the cooling effect of those garments. UGH! So, please, please tell me/us, when choosing dresses and blouses to purchase for the spring/summer months, what is the best type of fabric to look for to achieve that drapey BOHO vibe? Which fabrics drape well and also keep you cool in spring/summer? Tyia : )

    • @rheamorales1329
      @rheamorales1329 5 лет назад

      I like printed cotton lawn fabrics for summer blouses. They are lightweight but not sheer enough to require a camisole underneath. I also found a chambray weight denim shirt dress that will dress up or down for four seasons of wear.

    Thank you gorgeous girl. These tips are great. I am decluttering my wardrobe (spring here in Australia) and was wondering are there seasonal peices you should keep in your wardrobe? 👛 hugs. Ms. O.

      Glad you enjoyed it! For more detailed style advice outside of the video content, we'd have to do an online style session love. I have some listed on my website if you're interested in that (or check out some of my spring videos on my channel) xo

    It is true...pointed shoes do contribute to the cause of ingrown toenails..BE careful if you wear them past age 50.

      So happy to hear that! I've thought of doing that, but style sessions are typically very intimate appointments, so I'd have to find some women that are open to themselves being filmed. It's a possibility in future for sure!

      I agree. They're so horrible for my feet. Almond toe or a mildly squared toe is so much better for me and still stylish!

    Regarding a tailored fit, what about someone who is plus size? And I'm not talking plus size like Ashley Graham who has a flat stomach; I'm talking about flab and rolls. Yes, I know, lose the weight, but that doesn't happen overnight. Being overweight with rolls does not allow me to have anything tailored, in fact, the complete opposite. What are some tips?

      First thing that would come to my mind would be (black) trousers, a nice flowy top (maybe chiffon) and a cardigan/blazer which goes past your butt to kind of stretch your look.
      The shirt doesn't have to be baggy, especially chiffon has a really nice flow to it. It hides any rolls but you don't look boxy in it.
      Pair that with a long necklace and I think it would look really great :)

    Pointy toes are damaging to the feet, permanent damage at that. Hammer toes and bunions are a direct result of bad shoes. Women are punishing themselves and designers like louboutin are causing permanent damage to women

    • @ChristieRessel
      @ChristieRessel  7 лет назад +21

      +evalmiki2011 that can be true if: women are wearing heels to high (120mm), heels too small, heels exclusively, and heels with too small of a shoe box (in which case they're be uncomfortable to start). None of which I recommend.

      I forgot to mention that I am a physical therapist who specializes in orthopedics :) it is documented that pointed toe shoes over the years causes hammer toes and bunions are a long term consequence. Flat shoes with pointed toes also cause that over the years

      My dad is a chiropractor and talks about the same thing. I try to get pointed shoes that taper slowly though, no more than an almond or round toe would do so that the toe box isn't crushing. Good info to note regardless though!

      100 % agree. Pointed toed shoes have damaged my toes. Hence I don't like showing my bare feet, ever.
