- Tim (Domhnall Gleeson) starts to lose his mind when Mary (Rachel McAdams) asks him to help her pick out an outfit.
What is About Time (2013) about?
The night after another unsatisfactory New Year party, Tim’s (Domhnall Gleeson) father (Bill Nighy) tells his son that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. I absolutely love it when my GF invites me to her closet showings... She does ask me how I like this or that, and she ends up wearing whatever she likes the most, I am simply there for emotional support of some kind, I try to reassure her that I love her and she is always beautiful. I cannot begin to understand what she is feeling because when we go to an event nobody is looking at me. I could arrive in anything with zero effect.

My wife used to present me with paint samples for home projects. I learned that even though she selected all of the options, whatever I chose, she would politely explain why that color was wrong. I won’t even discuss dresses or shoes.

Another great Richard Curtis screenplay. He wrote Notting Hill, which is in my top 10 films of all time. Such a positive viewpoint he carries. So nice in a world full of doom and gloom.
Let’s face it, gentlemen. We’ve all been there. It’s a small price to pay for having a wonderful woman in our lives. But it is a price. And time to time we have to pay it.
You do realise that not everyone lives in a stereotypical relationship, right? Plenty of people manage to pick out their own clothes.

I love the fact between the decision between the last two dresses his hair goes from starting to be messing cause he is getting anxious about being late for the dinner back to normal when she puts on the first dress she wore:

Romance comedy at its finest. It’s ‘about time ‘we have more feel good films (sorry, not sorry) and not hundreds of comic book films.

Such a brilliant and underrated movie.
Of the many MANY films in which Rachel McAdams is in a relationship with a time traveller, this is arguably the most adorable.
My wife used to do this a lot more in the last. Now that my daughters are older she now bypasses me and goes straight to my daughters to ask. Woohoo!

I love scenes like this. I reminds me of a girlfriend I once had, she was absolutely beautiful to me, and she could have worn a potato sack for all I cared. There is a great scene in a movie called HouseSitter that has the Steve Martin character telling the Goldie Hawn character what she shouldn't wear around the house.

This is a great movie and I recommend it to anyone who will listen. My dad (who is great and I love dearly) had suggested my wife and I watch it... 6 weeks after her father (an awesome dude who I really looked up to) died. We were both UGLY SOBBING by the end. Haven't watched it again, but love it.

You can tell that after the 'trick question, same dress' scene, his hair became messy signifying that he is REALLY going mad and before that, it was nice and tidy. Love the small details!

One of my absolute favorite movies. The continuation of the scene has them finding out their 4 yo daughter has scribbled on and put through the shredder, a only copy of a manuscript that Mary was working on. Leads to a big argument that is halted by a phone call from Tim's mom
Humorously exaggerated (but not by much) routine I’m pretty sure many husbands and boyfriends go through. I know I have and I eventually learned the best way to participate. It mostly required listening carefully and not saying too much

Helping a woman choose what to wear is about making her feel good about how she's dressing. She knows you don't have as much fashion sense as her 😂You just have to listen, be supportive, and talk things through with her
