I am really sad seeing the video of the damage caused by the hail. Hail is terrible on cars (and agriculture). Seeing the Lada Niva hit so badly is really sad. I fully understand your sadness and anger. Hail storms are not uncommon in that area located between the Alps and the Po Valley. It happens not rarely in summer. The hot summer air, the high mountains, the plain create a favorable situation for this type of strong storms. I'm so sorry you suffered that damage! Years ago, someone I know had his car hit MUCH more terribly by hail and the repair was too expensive. I hope the Lada Niva comes back as beautiful as before. I hope that your desire and joy to travel will return as strong as before.
Thank you for your detailed response and compassion! We were aware of hail but not in this size. Even residents of the village were surprised by the size of the hail. We will certainly continue our adventures and make the Lada more beautiful bit by bit. 🤩 Life is so beautiful, but sometimes it is made clear to you that you are only a very small part of everything on this earth, especially nature. 🌍🌋🌪️⚡
We left the Garda area, two days before that happened. Our friends were still there, but staying in a mobile home. They said, that everything turned into complete caos, and people were litteraly running for their lives. Scary stuff. With our vacation to the same area this year, we'd taken percautions and wrapped the car in everything possible, just in case.
Wow, what a story. I can totally agree with that, it was pure chaos and people were also hurt very badly by the huge hailstones. Very scary experience. We went to lake Garda again this year but also find ourselves wrapping the car at night because bad weather was coming. When there is a thunderstorm you will always think about what could happen.
