I just love this Swami! He is sooo well-educated. I really enjoy his talks and his passion for his beliefs. He never lets me down or disappoints me. I wish I could meet him and get some answers to My questions.
We all admire or look up to someone because of the difference of the abilities between ourselves and them. We love movie stars because through their profession they become larger than life and ourselves, we look outward always not inward to tap all the limitless potential that we have to fulfill everything.
I will try to answer this question from what I have heard from Swami Sarvapriyanandaji s lectures There are three levels of reality 1) Paramartic (the absolute)..2) vyavharic ( transactional) 3) pratibhasic (illusionary). We are in the transactional level (waking state) right now.we experience happiness and suffering in the waking and dream state. What Vedanta says is we are actually the absolute / Paramartic/ turya/ satchitananda...but because of ignorance we identify our self as body/ mind ( name and form) The law of Karma acts in this state. According to Swami Vivekananda .. Good.. good..bad..bad..none escape the law..the one who wears the form .. wears the chain too ( law of karma) I have not started yet.. The question is about suffering... Let's imagine we are in a dream state( pratibhasic level) Imagine experiencing pain and suffering.. ( we have gone through such situations many times).in a nightmare.. When we wake up ( we have shifted from pratibhasic level to the transactional level)or shifted from lower level of reality to a higher level of reality..we realize that everything..the pain and suffering we experienced was FALSE AND IT DID NOT EXIST.. The question is about the pain and suffering in the transactional level.. When we will shift from transactional level to Paramartic level we will REALIZE that everything the pain and suffering we experienced in the transactional level was all FALSE AND IT DID NOT EXIST.. Because of IGNORANCE in the dream state (pratibhasic) the pain and suffering we experienced was real. And because of IGNORANCE in the transactional level we think the suffering is real.. What ended the suffering in the dream state..(the shift to a higher level of reality) will end the suffering in the waking state... THE SHIFT TO THE PARAMARTIC LEVEL. WE WILL REALIZE THAT EVERYTHING WAS FALSE AND NEVER EXISTED.. BRAMHA SATYA JAGAT MITHYA..
@@chmd22 Answer is IGNORANCE of your true self Vedanta says you are SATCHITANANDA Imagine you are in a dream state( I am also in your dream) ..you are asking me the same question..why pratibhasic state.. My answer will be... IGNORANCE of your true self.. you are not this body and this world you see is not real..you are actually sleeping in a transactional level and projecting this world and this body.. everything you see and your body are appearance in you at transactional level....you will never believe me.. because you cannot find sleeping Dan Hue in the dream.. only when you wake up ( shift to the transactional level) you will realise the truth.. There is some kind of a barrier/ veil / Maya.. which does not allow us to know the higher level of reality In the dream state we think everything is real and cannot even imagine/ believe the existence of a transactional state ..and in the transactional level we believe everything is real and cannot even imagine the existence of a higher level.. In the dream state because of IGNORANCE we identify ourselves as dream body mind and think the dream world to be real..but actually everything ( dream world/ dream body mind) are appearance in you transactional level Dan Hue.. Because of IGNORANCE in transactional level you identify yourself as body mind and think the world is real.. But actually Vedanta says everything is appearance in you SATCHITANANDA ....EXISTENCE CONSCIOUSNESS BLISS. SHIFT to the Paramartic level and realise the truth...
Great answer. When you understand the structure of life within the law of karma you will understand why the world is the way it is. Bhagwan shri Krishna is the ultimate goal of our existence on earth.
I have met people who take their suffering as if it is not real, as if it is happening in a movie, as if they are just observers of that suffering. And I am not talking about the Yogis. I am talking about people like you and me, common people living a common life. They have not even studied the Vedanta but they seem to know the truth. Looks like the truth, after all, is not a great riddle or a puzzle to crack. The truth is not some great mystery. The truth is simple and is in front of us all the time: *You are not the Body.* *You are not the Mind.* *You are the Consciousness.* *You are the Observer.* *Your true nature is to simply observe.* *If something is happening to you.* *it's not really happening to you.* *Nothing can happen to you.* *Because you are just an eternal Observer.*
Well then definiteliy those ppl ve reachd the peak- Nirvana, if they are able to witness & digest the sufferings w/o any impact. I'd truly appreciate them & say ot is a boon on them.
100% true! I used to FREAK out when what I perceived as 'negative' happened to me. In fact , I would freak out on behalf of 'other' people... not only that, even More than they would themselves! I was a real drama queen. Then, after observing many common people going through what seemed to MY mind 'make or break' disasters such as being evicted from their homes, witnessing the murder of a loved one or being raped without losing their wits - I realized that their own 'reaction' is what determined how 'disastrous' a happening was. I realized that 'MY' reaction and MY MIND was in fact the real problem and disaster. Slowly, consciously and very intentionally I started minding 'my' own responses to occurrences in life. I was so 'egoic' and had been brought up to believe that 'I' was controlling a real 'objective' reality and that made me a jittery, unstable and unhappy person. Part of the western idea is true, we can indeed do anything, be anything and achieve anything... we DO control everything, but only by controlling ONE thing... our SELF. Now, I can cry with sorrow and laugh with joy, I can participate in life fully knowing that today I play the mourner, tomorrow the clown. In reality I am both and I am neither. Many a common person has always known this, no need to even 'articulate' it. They find us over 'egoic' types strange, having never for a moment believed that they are this body or that anything is really happening to them! 🤣🙏🏾 This is why the journey to nowhere is not for everyone, but only for those who imagine there is (a) nowhere to go (to).
By just logical understanding or a blur feeling of being a observer is not going to detach your self from ego, you don't realize real Self just like that.... and it will not stop suffering to be experienced. As a observer everything is just event but, for the normal people who are not realized, they need answers for the question Why ?.. and how to cope this suffering... so this question will always persist and the reality is no Guru/ swami/ teacher etc knows this answer, why this creation with suffering happened..
life never suffers!! Life is always bliss but when life identifies with mind and body which is composed of desires, where there is a fall and rise is there(Happiness and misery are there) and life identifies and thinks that it is suffering. But life itself is blissful!! Know Thyself!! Know that you are one with God!! Misery and happiness are just a play
Swami ji. I have been following you for the past 6 months and now I think whatever I have known before that was stupid. Thanks for the prospective you gave me.
What Swami Sarva is saying is the gist of Indian philosophy which has been explained by Gurus from time immemorial. The only way to understand this is when you understand yourself, by meditation and by self reflection. By asking yourself the question again and again 'who am I' you might be able to get to the bottom of this. Starting with the question 'am I the body'? If you can't do it the book of Ramana Maharishi 'who am I' should help. Understanding this question is the only way to live at peace in this world.
You are pure consciousness living your own mind posture. There's no external world independent of the mind. This world of sufferings the mind earned for itself from previous births.
The glory of Indian - or rather human - philosophy is the Tantra of Mahadev Sadashiva and Bhagavan Krishna. Advaita Vedanta - based in the idea that this world is false - have caused huge problems for India as it is based on the false notion that this vey creation is false and thus goes against human psychology.
How sad Abhi that you belittle your Eternal religion to the level of Evangelists and newly converted Muslims : "all other religion are false and mine is the only true one". Are followers of other religions also going to hell ? ;-) What the need behind that ? To convince yourself ? You should trust your religion more : then you won't need to go for Djihad..... You also are talking about the nature of creation, which is pure mind stuff, at best Jnana, to affirm that only Bakthi is a valid path. How crazy it is.... "I will use my mind to tell you that only heart and devotion are true". Poor soul..... Do you see this foly ? Believe in your own religion Abhi, practice Bakthi. It's a beautiful and true path, and you'll merge with Shri Krishna. Trust yourself, trust Sri Krishna, and forget your doubts ! Get away from this ocean of hate, doubt and suffering !
I am also amazed at the questions put up by such youngsters. They are just so fantastic, so matured and so spiritualistic. Indeed to such a question, Thakur in "Kathamrita" does say that this is God's own wish as He has "kept" this Maya. As indeed the world is false (Brahma satya jagat mithya) according to the Upanishads hence the Swami so rightly says from the Vedanta that sufferings, therefore, are indeed illusory. And a very good answer from the Swami quoting from Thakur's "Kahtamrita" to search who you are...only then the answer comes. Joy Thakur Ramakrishno.
We are getting suffering because when we get pain then only we try to find the answer who am i?, why it happened to me?, what is going around me? And I'm running behind of what?, etc... We can experience the happiness of light, if we know the darkness. Or else light is just nothing even though it is important. Actually lucky persons are not those who never suffered, lucky persons are those who suffered because when we hurt that time only we ask the questions and try to find the answers, other times we never try to seek or question anything. This universe trying to realize who we really are but we are running behind things which leads to nothing, because others are running that's why we are running. If we stop and think once what I'm doing, why I'm doing, who am I, for who I am doing?, etc..., then we get the answer and we get peace within us. So enjoy suffering think it is good for us and this universe trying to remove our debts.
That question, "who are you?" Was actually the answer. Anybody on this path is first taught that he is not the body and he is not the mind. All sufferings are related to either body or mind. So the answer is given in the very beginning to everyone, but one can only see that once he realizes that within himself.
Amazing amazing amazing.... the best answers of all the queries.... Swami Ji's the ocean of wisdom of sat chit anand.... I really feel he is the incarnation of Swami Vivekananda or some really great being of ancient times....all his speaches are enlightening to some extent.... Hope we all grow spiritually 🙏🙏 shashtang Pranam 🙏🙏🙏
He is not like you and me. Swamiji is a special person you know?(like a mini God😅 and his talks are divine. Though I'm a muslim, i can't sleep without hearing his wisdom
The simplest awnser to the question is that happiness can't excist without suffering. Imagine a movie, book or game where nothing bad happens, I bet you wouldn't even watch it to the end.
All sufferings and pleasure due to notion. Stop your notions free yourself from sufferings. Hopes, wishes, affection, all are path to sufferings. The moment you start your notion you build your world, time & space. Wherever you are right now? I mean place, at some point it was your notion. Stop notion, stop hopes and wishes make mind to no mind and feel the bliss. Once your mind is clear (without any thoughts) you will able to see the God within yourself. Thoughts are not making you to realise yourself . Once mind become "No Mind" you will able see God within yourself ( you are the God and you have created this world )
This advice would have certainly helped the jews being tortured during holocaust. Suffering is not a mindset. How do you justify physical sufferings such as rape, physical assault, torture, murder, theft?
@@Anskurshaikh I will answer all your questions, first you answer my questions. What do you think who created this world if God? Why he kill people? Why he sends natural calamities to kill the people? Why only specific get raped, murdered killed due to diseases.? Why we are not able to take pain of our loved ones to ourself for e.g my 4 year old son is suffering from toothache why I can't transfer his pain to myself.? Why people are born in Syria even if God knows it's a hell of the earth eventually they will suffer a lot, why still God let them to born in Syria. Why 2+2 =4 ? Why we called it 4? Why some dogs in the house enjoy the luxurious life and another dogs roaming on the street for the food.? Why all are not getting cancer, why all are not getting raped.? Why why some infants are getting died? Why God is so biased? Please answer all above questions.
I believe he is practical and perfectly descriptive of Hindu thought. It is an unpleasant truth. But liberation is all about unpleasant truths. Not for the light hearted. Summary of Swamiji's view-"Suffering is law. Part of dharma. Part of life itself."
I have been feeling that during meditation swami ji but i couldn't describe it. Thank you for explaining it so well that now i just see god everywhere and in everyone. i know it may sound stupid but that is true, the way i perceive things have changed
If we are truly conscious then there will cease to be any questions whatsoever, we will just be, do whatever good we can and when death comes we will go quietly. No need for any religious quests to find god, no need to misuse technology for power or lust or greed, no need for any social dramas or struggles. We will just adapt or align to the ways of the technological advancement from the point in history when we are born, love our neighbors and not need rules or laws to lead a decent life. It’s because we are not conscious that we fall prey to all the sources of distractions from the environment and society and so we adapt to the impure ways of everyone else, and give in to gossiping about others, thinking evil or jealous thoughts about others. It’s easy to follow in negative ways because it takes less effort than positive ones. It’s because we are not conscious that we create an uneven strata of existence and identity society, we create a larger than life movie star because of our dependency on entertainment to escape the mundane life and its woes. If everyone was good and conscious around us when we are born chances are astronomically high that we would be shaped and molded into being good and conscious. In fact there would be no distinction between good and evil, just we would do what is needed. There would be no hurry to get anywhere, no rush, no competition, no thrill to get us off. Life would consist of only bliss, not 90% suffering and 10% pleasures to try and compensate for the sufferings. We need doctors, to cure us because most of us don’t know how to take care of ourselves and fall prey to the wrong ways of the world, we need laws and enforcement agencies because we can’t stop ourselves from committing wrongs, and we need so many different facets of the walks of life because the human mind is so limitless and has countless ways to create problems for itself so various professions arise, psychiatrist, the gurus, the leaders or politicians, the rulers. All of this is happening because we think we are something big and that we are the center of the universe. If the atoms or molecules or even cells in your body that are vastly smaller than you decides that they are the center of the universe then your whole physical body will collapse within a few days, but we are lucky that they work in harmony for our well being. When we reduce our egos and thoughts to being insignificant and nothing then only we realize what an idiot we have been from birth to adulthood and till we die our physical deaths. The modern conveniences would not even need to be created so we become dependent on them and become lazy and think of our weekend escapes from a slaving job. The earth would sustain our healthy lifestyles because it has the resources and potential to do so. And the earth would be healthy and not damaged like it is now. Stop running, see how acute your vision becomes, and how focused it becomes, you will capture life like a camera does when it is at standstill and so is the object it’s trying to capture. We created the need for something like a “noble cause” that contrasts with our impure and flawed ways that is why we are running after it after our basic needs are met. The need for anything would be gone and so the temptation for overuse and misuse of the thing we need would also be gone. We would just use the bare minimum so there would be plenty left for ourselves, others and our future generations. If you deep think and contemplate you will realize you already know this. But there is an opposing force in your mind negating these thoughts and realizations from surfacing. Balance the two forces and you can come to a still point where everything is clear. We are all living life from imbalance.
You will keep revolving in infinite life-and-death cycles - you might live in a very good situation in each life, do good and again be born in a very good life. But you are still in this cycle. Krsna says there is nothing wrong with this but he also shows another route(another door) OUT of this CYCLE. That is by going to Him… It’s optional only, but THAT is only the MAXIMUM happiness you can attain.
Therefore religion IS required. Without Hinduism(by doing good and respecting others as you are saying) we will be decently happy, born an live good & happy lives. But we won’t experience INFINITE, ETERNAL bliss without HIM (no matter how much you move with technology or help your neighbors or resist doing crimes) Krsna alone can give you that. But if you don’t want the infinite happiness, your point is totally valid. Hinduism doesn’t force us to choose- we can very well be in this normal cyclical life. But remember, as you are in this cycle, temptations will DEFINITELY come, you will DEFINITELY make mistakes no matter how strong your morality. And so you will slide into worse and worse lives. {that is EXACTLY how the cycle continues indefinitely!} But once you reach Krsna (Brahman) you will not be put in this cycle again. You will forever be in bliss… So which path do you think is better? 😁
As Krishna said to Arjuna that he himself felt the joy of victory as Pandavas and also the misery of defeat as Kauravas. And only due to ignorance they perceived those glories and miseries as their own.
Vary good Qs hv been asked..But Pujya Swam ji your explanations of the Qs are very convincing, and guven us good understanding about the the terms "SUFFERING". Thank you Swami ji..❤❤
Absolutely right Swamiji ... Law of Karma for unenlightened.... Fir the enlightened, the world doesn't exist, so where is suffering... God is really Merciful.... We are just not realising the truth... If there were no suffering, who will want to realise his true nature??
We are spirit souls having a material experience. It is the material experience that is our sense of suffering so suffering is unavoidable. There is no suffering in consciousness itself in itself consciousness is beyond change and deterioration.
Nice Walks "As I walk through this wicked world Searchin' for light in the darkness of insanity I ask myself, "Is all hope lost? Is there only pain and hatred and misery?"
I'm a person of very limited knowledge. But what I understand from bhagavad gita that God doesn't make us suffer. Suffering comes from the interaction between three modes of material natures. Mode of goodness, passion and ignorance
I love Swami Sarvapriyananda talks. I don’t know for sure but I feel he is an enlightened man. Thakur said: “this is the Leela of God”. In another chapter of the Kathamrita he said to M. “Stop reasoning!”. And then? Who knows… Saint Augustine said “misericordia domini inter pontem et fontem, inter gladium et jugulum” means something like “The mercy of God can arise even between the bridge and the river, between the razor and the jugular." I love Thakur's expression "Stop reasoning!" I think it is the most reasonable explanation. I mean solution.
Only the person suffers. The identity. The ego. The one who has attachments. But this one who is suffering is simply a psychological self created and conditioned by influences and circumstances. Who are you without your 'you'? Without your story as the person you have been led to believe you are? You are the one who perceives and so therefore cannot be that which can be perceived. You are not your body or your mind but you are experiencing the expression of your self as consciousness through the instruments known as the body and the mind. Just like we cannot see light until it is reflected off of an object.
The more important thing is.. Are you people looking for answer or solution? Did you want to know why there is suffering or want to end that suffering? If you want answer, it's already given in the video, and it may not satisfied you nor liberate you.. IF you want liberation, then you must transcend the suffering, self-realization is the only solution..
Pranam Swamiji 🙏🏻 This question & its answer is a blessing for me … I express my deep sense of gratitude to you Swamiji for all your wonderful talks… Keep blessing us with your teachings …
I have the greatest respect for the revered Swami, and I love his discourses because they give me so much to think about. But in this case-the question of why do we suffer if God is all powerful and all merciful-I think to transcend this suffering only Jnana may not suffice. We need Bhakti as well.
Vaibhav Raut hey Vaibhav, hope you are well and in perfect happiness, but you will read this in the waking state i guess. It allways intriguis me when somebody says things like : i am awake in deep sleep, and i am in a ‘non’ state of anand. For the fun of it, i am in deep sleep, thus in perfect anand, one with Brahma, non other then. The fire alarm goes of. Who desides, anand or panic?
Read Bhagavad Gita as it is and know the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna. Hare Krishna hare krishna krishna krishna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare and be happy 🙏
we are all life, children, animals and any life you can think of. All life is capable of self realization, animals and children just require more time to realise. Animals may have to die and become human or some other vessel to realise but it is possible.
I think children are more self realized than we adults. I've seen countless children dying in pediatric ward and they handle/accept death more graciously than we adults and It's a fact. That's why we say god resides in a child untill we pollute his mind.
Karmik theory is not sound and logical. And the answers given does not stand to the strict reasons (as far as philosophical reasoning is concerned). But Swamiji has given the best answer. Swami Sarvapriyananda is really good explainer! Fantastic! Only Swamiji, I see, has the very clear insight and depth! Yes! even if you know the answer (logical, philosophical, reasonable... whatever.) the real question is how not to suffer and if possible free others from suffering! From the suffering itself the question arises and we want to transcend it! knowing the logical or philosophical answers does not make suffering go away, which Swamiji has spoken, clearly shown here! It's only knowing the way to transcend the suffering which is the real answer. All of humanity should (must) work toward that goal. Thanks a lot Swamiji!
ZEN! OK, To some extent that's right! But "whole universe is throbbing with desire" to put it poetically. However, in one Upanishad (I don't remember which, long time since I read...so I can't quote and not taking the trouble now either. ) it is said that because "HE" or "She" (Brahman) desired to be many from a 'single entity' (Don't want to mix and create ward salad by borrowing terms like 'singularity' from science like some people do these days. ) the creation happened. Metaphorically speaking. So desire is not bad or wrong. Yes sometimes too much attachment brings sorrows and sufferings. Balance is the KEY! ... Buddha -Tathagata was right I would like to think! Thanks for your comment!
I read in 'The Wisdom of The Overself' by the Aidvaita Vedanta philosopher Dr. Paul Brunton, that God's boundless imagination needed to be constrained to a limited space time experience and in such a way as to have meaning. Hence Karma is brought into the system so that the Universe unfolds by cause and effect. God 'self-imposed' this Law on his imagination of the Universe and so it seems His hands are tied and He suffers and laughs with us until the end.
I don’t blame anyone for our sadness except for ourself. People choose to be evil to each other and this not in perfect harmony. As for illness, it is because we have lost our way on how to truly nourish our bodies. Healthy foods and healthy thoughts combined. And we are not meant to be on this Earth forever. We have a larger purpose. I believe.
Lucifer after the "fall" became Shaitan ~ Satan....he can only seduce us into agreeing to his disaster, to his greed for power & ownership of our very SOULS, in his desire to seat himself in the thrown of the most high Abba father GOD who gives us a choice, eg. Off with your head or take the mark of the Beast system....always a choice offered....I ask this day whom do you serve? CREATION GOD the Father/Mother or the lord of this realm Lucifer/Sata the father of all lies. Why do so many hang on to this physical body & not recognize the truth of Entropy Enternity ie. Energy - Consciousness nerver dies it only changes form. Embraace LIFE learn from life everyone dies learn what you can & be prepared for the recycling of your very SOUL. Live life in love & appreciation of this short experience so fraught with love, emotion, learning, caring, giving, LIFE....NAMASTE
We suffer because, in our experience matterial is reality , We have settled for this thinking , that’s the reason of all the sufferings , Actually God is creating suffering only for our happiness, so that we Grow and seek the reality, Hari Bol 🙏
The question is asked why does God allow suffering? The answer is that God doesn't allow suffering, suffering is just the material experience there is no suffering in the soul. Why doesn't God stop suffering? Since suffering is just the material experience the only way to stop your suffering is to stop the experience of the world, but would you want that?
Gary Renard wrote a book, The Disappearance of the Universe. You would enjoy, should your question be serious. Audiobook and hardcopy are available. You can shove it on audible at 1.5-2x and finish it in a couple hours, with a timer for listening to anywhere. The biggest mistake people make with that book is to read it and never practice. Practice the exercises! When you see the peace it brings, you will discard the idea of not-knowing and gain confidence, by seeing for yourself, something you can demonstrate yourself. No more debates. No more logical arguing. But self-demonstration. Or just ignore this comment. But never read a guru's teachings with intent to "know". They are exercises, they are not "knowable" things. Benefit does not come from "knowing" even if you are objectively correct. Same as exercise!
In world there's only incidents. Those incidents cause pain or pleasure in our minds according to the adjunct of experience. And being attached and overwhelmed by that pain gives suffering. Pain is inevitable but suffering is an option.
Let’s assume for a moment that you have attainted enlightenment and you are free from materialistic world and it’s consequences but maya still exists in another part of the mirror and for people like me.Maya is true as true as consciousness for every living being. You cannot escape as long as you are living .according to the yogis you can transcend it ,but still cannot escape .
Yip, while in the body, there is no escape. Seekers know this, they're aiming to stop taking new bodies. Which in itself doesn't matter either because it is 'this' limited consciousness not wanting to take a body again. When it does come again, it is not even aware that is has taken a body yet again... not fully anyway. Perhaps when (if ever) enough of human consciousness awakens and rejects the dream, then our world will end. No consciousness will take human form. When I realize this, suddenly the super crazy super long 'timelines' of the ancients make sense instantly. Now since we are billions of humans on earth , with the consciousness of animals raising too, chances are the dream goes on indefinitely. We can't ALL wake up. Talk about 'keeping the dream alive' 🙏🏾💜✌🏾
Suffering has a very abrupted vibration of frequencies that come below the frequency of vibration of anger. These vibrations can be studied and controlled only in a environment of confident confrontation rather confused conflict. Placing the vibrations of suffering on a bigger platform of slow, claiming and smooth vibrations is one of the many ways to analyse and decapitate energy
The Absolute infinite is not good or bad, to ascribe human forms of emotions, thoughts, shapes, colors, ideals and other limitations the human mind tries to impose which is the definition of Maya. Suffering is a quality of all vanishing objects. The rock struggles to maintain its shape from pressures of nature, iron struggles with oxygen rusting it, all microorganisms struggle to survive. This is feature of the forms. naturally all forms struggle to preserve themselves. As long as You have form, you will strongly until you realize your formless nature, then all suffering will be so insignificant.
Mubarak Alsaleh well but even if form does realize that he is formless will his sufferings disappear? i don’t know. If u get self realized then will u stop eating food to preserve yourself?
Why there is suffering in life: There is no creator, so no creation. Universe is manifestation of “ Divine consciousness “: upanishads 🙏 Objective world exists in duality: day night, good bad etc so is joy & suffering, two sides of the same coin called life! One can’t exist without other.🙏
their is a Creator, there is a Creation. A creation which is made with or programmed to have the Good and Bad, Night and Day, electrons and protons. Free will to humans, can do as much good as one wants and as well as as much bad as one can , but pay the consequences of it here and in the hereafter. that's my humble understanding of life.
@@786humaira1 why would a creator create evil and so much suffering ! Think about it , don’t just believe ! A father, a normal human being can’t inflict pain on his own children and if there was indeed all powerful all knowing creator, why would he allow so much pain and suffer on his children ! A simple common sense question! Not for debate but a food for thought !
@@understandinglife1161 they will give senseless arguments about how the 'creator god' created suffering. I heard from a christian - One of the angels of God's army (why god has army before devil existed? why does god even have an army?) betrayed god (?) and tempted the first human to do evil. When asked why god didn't stop the devil from spreading evil, he replied- before evil, everybody loved god. But after evil only true believers love god. And god likes true believers, and punishes non believers. But one may ask, why does God punish non believer. Non believers are deluded by the devil. God was potent to stop the devil, but he did not. Which sums up - Christian concept of god is bogus.
Ooo...That's great answered 💯💕!!!..Thanks to enlighten us swami sarvapriyananda jii✌️..That's really tough question to break down but in this video a very logical answer is given with all necessary spirituality, science👍. Indeed this questions answer would require time to understand completely 🙏..
Yes. YOU are 'god' (aka that magic man in the sky...yes, sarcasm but with a serious point). To me and many, that 'man' or WORD 'god' is a metaphor of YOURSELF, what YOU feel, been through, see, etc. 'Bad' things happen....yah....and? It's called Life. I had 'bad' things happen until I comprehended WHY they/it happened and what I learned from it. I have 'dead' kids to....but logic, science, reasons involved with medical and more all interact and well...it makes sense. Instead of morning in sorrow as if I'm to always 'get what I want'. Knowledge is power. What you 'see' is what you get.
Yes totally true. Who is suffering? - The answer will give the realization of the first Nobel truth about Buddha. Get the intuition about this and analyze it.
That's a lovely answer, but I think another possible, logical answer is that the failure for us to realize that Atman is Brahman renders us incapicated, thus in our unrealized state we are not omnipotent: we have yet to free ourselves of our binding.
even if it's true that the suffering is not real, it still seems real. Using the analogy of suffering in stories, nightmares are not real, but they still feel real at the time and are very unpleasant. If I had a choice, I would not chose to have a nightmare when I sleep, even though I know it isn't real, because during the nightmare it will seem real. So why would a loving God allow us to experience imaginary suffering if it will seem real to us?
The nightmare situation which you have discussed about is horrible for only that person who considers he is his body and God is different from him, if he knows he is the soul, one who observes his body then neither he will have such a nightmare nor he will be afraid of it the reason of fear is that he means his body and end of the body means end of him
@@sudhanshutripathi230 yes that is true, but most people do in fact consider themselves to be their body, and do consider god to be different from themselves. Only enlightened people (according to advaita Vedanta) will think their suffering is not real. The majority of people will spend most of their life thinking their suffering is real. So why would a god make it like that? Why not instead make everyone enlightened, so nobody has the illusion of suffering?
@Surendra Thapa That means there must be no God, because if after even centuries n centuries of millions and millions of good men seeking God, it hasnt given the answer to the mankind as a whole. If a child is suffering, will his parent remain in hiding and keep asking the kid to first seek him and will only help him then? Tht's still ridiculous and doesn't satisfy the question.
@@sww770 My friend I am really happy to see that i have found someone who thinks and questions like the way i've been doing. Now to ur point that why doesn't God enlighten everybody in the world, the answer that is usually given to me is that if everybody becomes enlightened, there'll be no day to day chores and worldly life. And if there'll be no desires how will mankind reproduce and go on in the world? And the society will become desireless and will cease to exist, because the world is driven by desires and enlightened beings have no desires, they only remain in the world and not leave their bodily abodes to become one with the God because their kind heart doesn't let them alone take all the bliss of being one with God and hence they help mankind also to walk the path of realization. But the fallacy i find in this explanation is that if god can have arrangements to make all the universe run and exist like it is, why can't God have some fix to keep a perfect world running? Coz atleast that world will not have suffering of innocent children and animal kind. Doesnt God have a similar arrangement for heavens, if it exists like the scriptures and godmen say? So why cant the world also be a heaven and all life be happy? What is supposed to be wrong with that? - I still seek answer to this question.
And the answer is this life is a movie, but you will only understand that when you get enlightenment .then you can watch it as movie without experience it
My questions: 1. If God is only good, why did God allow the law of karma to exist that causes suffering to beings in present and the next lives for those who bolieve that maya is reality and they don't do bhakti to break it because of ignorance? 2. Why is God taking revenge using the law of karma?
I do t believe in the kind of karma where you are rewarded or punished for your actions. But God would cause suffering cause there would be no happiness without it. yin yang. just like you wouldn't watch a movie where nothing bad happens, you probably don't want to live a life where nothing bad happens. even though it might seem appealing
JhonnyBoy..I also agree with your logic of the movie upto some extent, but wouldn't there be some threshold limit or less suffering/pain/violence/massacre in the movie & more amount of Love/bliss/enjoyment in the movie could have been created by all-good ,all-blissful,all-loving ,all-powerfull God.!
Your question itself seem justifiable, but until you enlighten can't satisfy yourself.. that's the problem, that's why it's called Maya.. all these questions exist in side Maya, God himself exist outside Maya.. which mean, God himself transformed as these creatures, why can't make himself law of Karma too.. when this creatures come out of this ignorance as they have individuality other than God themselves.. then only they will realize, there is nothing called maya.. it means there is nothing called, being or existence.. that's what is called enlightenment..
God is egoless. Suffering is the universal law that plays out for those who are embroiled in... ego. He has no roll in your affairs of action. The action stops when you are without... ego.
Desire- Greed and selfishness is the root cause of any suffering. Our child dies- we shed tears! There are million kids dying in the world-class we don't know about and do not care about and do not feel the grief - even when we witness! Why do we crave for happiness and joy and fun? Suffering is not created by God. It is our own creation and it comes as a bundled package. Pleasure and joy would not be satisfying if there was no suffering or pain. Plain and Pleasure are two sides of coin. God has nothing to do with it. Follow your karma and your action. Keep good intentions with no harm. Everything will fall in place with Peace!
The problem comes from our ego. Our human desire to cast and judge everything in our own terms, such as love, hate, benevolence, cruelty etc. We need to understand that human beings are only a very tiny part of the whole experiential universe that rests in the ultimate reality called God. That God does not have to be bound by our qualities, or what we think is good or bad. Most of the matter in the visible matter is made of hydrogen atoms. Each hydrogen has one proton and one electron. They are bound by laws of nature. There is no question of love, hate, suffering etc for either the proton or the electron. If a rock falls from some height and breaks into tiny little pieces after colliding with the ground, does it suffer? Nobody asks such a question. We need to realize that as we interact with our surroundings many things can happen to us, some may be perceived as good and some bad. There is no need to bring God in all these. AUM tat sat. Creation (A), propagation (U) and destruction (M) - You (tat) are the truth sat).
The problem which isn't really a problem comes from our choice to experience _(within Consciousness)_ from separation, or from ego. You are exploring, and this is what consciousness - which you and i are - does......and in doing so we generate all types of experiences......all because we want to experience from contrast that which we are already.
Please take my Pranam Swamiji..🙏🙏🙏 It seems to me that, God has given us the free hand on to choose between good & evil .As we choose so as our karmik account get updated, accordingly the action or result come to us. Now these questions would come naturally & if you could put some light on it - 1. We have given a physical body where vices are more prominent at these era ( it something like a child is given with some sharp object in his hand, such that a blunder is so evident ), 2. God make us forget all our past life's deed(karma),so we couldn't relate our present suffering is because of any past bad karma ,since the result is not oftenly visible in present life.Otherwise evil people would have restrained them from doing evil. 3. He also make him-self hide, as such it become soo hard for normal human beings to connect with him. 4.If Mokhsa is the ultimate goal of life ,then what was the necessary to create this whole creation (for us to suffer & to seek for god to take out from this). Is it a kind of game god use to play using us & with us..!!!
Its how u perceive suffering, anger, negative lust, etc. The theories sited by swami r good reference but no one theory will pacify as a satisfactory answer unless clustered and practiced as one.

@@hs0022 Wow!
I will try to answer this question from what I have heard from Swami Sarvapriyanandaji s lectures
There are three levels of reality
1) Paramartic (the absolute)..2) vyavharic ( transactional) 3) pratibhasic (illusionary).
We are in the transactional level (waking state) right now.we experience happiness and suffering in the waking and dream state.
What Vedanta says is we are actually the absolute / Paramartic/ turya/ satchitananda...but because of ignorance we identify our self as body/ mind ( name and form)
The law of Karma acts in this state.
According to Swami Vivekananda ..
Good.. good..bad..bad..none escape the law..the one who wears the form .. wears the chain too ( law of karma)
I have not started yet..
The question is about suffering...
Let's imagine we are in a dream state( pratibhasic level)
Imagine experiencing pain and suffering..
Makes sense, but the next question is "Why are we in this transactional state?".
@@chmd22 Answer is IGNORANCE of your true self
Vedanta says you are SATCHITANANDA
Imagine you are in a dream state( I am also in your dream) ..you are asking me the same question..why pratibhasic state..
There is some kind of a barrier/ veil / Maya.. which does not allow us to know the higher level of reality
In the dream state we think everything is real and cannot even imagine/ believe the existence of a transactional state ..and in the transactional level we believe everything is real and cannot even imagine the existence of a higher level..
@@chmd22 In the transactional level there are questions..no answers
In the Paramartic (absolute) level there are answers no questions..

So self realisation defeats suffering by transcending it . Wonderful to contemplate on
The same question had led to the enlightenment of Gautama Buddha
The Jnani sees suffering and non-suffering as just events. As there is no label of suffering there. Just an event.
Consciousness feeds on the experience. To the degree of the compass is merely a flavor, there are 380 flavors to choose from.
This man is seriously underrated…👏👏👏
What Swami Sarva is saying is the gist of Indian philosophy which has been explained by Gurus from time immemorial.
The only way to understand this is when you understand yourself, by meditation and by self reflection. By asking yourself the question again and again 'who am I' you might be able to get to the bottom of this. Starting with the question 'am I the body'? If you can't do it the book of Ramana Maharishi 'who am I' should help. Understanding this question is the only way to live at peace in this world.
What a fantastic Vedantic scholar he is! So lucky to be able to listen to this ocean of wisdom. Nothing but awe and gratitude!
You are pure consciousness living your own mind posture. There's no external world independent of the mind.
This world of sufferings the mind earned for itself from previous births.
All matters are result in thought I must own them, learn from what I have done, be it good or bad is a marker on the compass of life.
I am loving his videos...There cud not be better explanation than this!!!
Awesomeness!!!
Advaita Vedanta is the essence and glory of Indian philosophy and unique genius. Many thanks.
Are followers of other religions also going to hell ? ;-)
What the need behind that ?

Rightly said.👏👏👍.
Thank You again, Swamiji! There is no other way. Jai!
So enjoy suffering think it is good for us and this universe trying to remove our debts.
wht about 5 year old kid; who die, why suffering?
That question, "who are you?" Was actually the answer. Anybody on this path is first taught that he is not the body and he is not the mind. All sufferings are related to either body or mind. So the answer is given in the very beginning to everyone, but one can only see that once he realizes that within himself.

The simplest awnser to the question is that happiness can't excist without suffering. Imagine a movie, book or game where nothing bad happens, I bet you wouldn't even watch it to the end.
bad/good ...=?
In other words, it would be pointless. 😂😂 🙏❤🙏 #7777
I would watch it to the end.
Very simple answer is, if there was no suffering you will not know what is happiness. Light has importance because there is darkness.
. Religious faith gives us psychological strength to face the unavoidable miseries of life.

I believe he is practical and perfectly descriptive of Hindu thought. It is an unpleasant truth. But liberation is all about unpleasant truths. Not for the light hearted. Summary of Swamiji's view-"Suffering is law. Part of dharma. Part of life itself."
Law of Karma, Play of God, Maya - Stories that do not happen. At last self realisation. All make sense. Thank you very much
I have been feeling that during meditation swami ji but i couldn't describe it.
But remember, as you are in this cycle, temptations will DEFINITELY come, you will DEFINITELY make mistakes no matter how strong your morality. And so you will slide into worse and worse lives. {that is EXACTLY how the cycle continues indefinitely!}
But once you reach Krsna (Brahman) you will not be put in this cycle again. You will forever be in bliss…
So which path do you think is better? 😁

I'm a person of very limited knowledge. But what I understand from bhagavad gita that God doesn't make us suffer. Suffering comes from the interaction between three modes of material natures. Mode of goodness, passion and ignorance
Our mind can take pain and suffering to a limit.. then there is a disconnect and all pain and suffering disappears.. a great relief.

Amazing clarity...love when I turned to vedanta.

I think children are more self realized than we adults. I've seen countless children dying in pediatric ward and they handle/accept death more graciously than we adults and It's a fact. That's why we say god resides in a child untill we pollute his mind.
@@Dr.OmarFaruq yes that's true. Remember we come from god and we return to him
Answer: Just understand "Tat Tvam Asi" and all the sufferings would become a dream for you!!
Most satisfying answer ever! Infinite thanks to you
Sucks to be any non human species not capable of self realization on this planet tho.
I believe.

Beautifully explained.
Very well explained...
We suffer because, in our experience matterial is reality ,
We have settled for this thinking , that’s the reason of all the sufferings ,
Actually God is creating suffering only for our happiness, so that we Grow and seek the reality,
Hari Bol 🙏
One message I received from a spiritual teacher is that "on the path to enlightenment there will always be obstacles, but suffering is optional."

Outside of perception there is no existence, what one creates is within one's perception. (I must own it).
Placing the vibrations of suffering on a bigger platform of slow, claiming and smooth vibrations is one of the many ways to analyse and decapitate energy
where did you get this voodoo magic book?
Jacob Rajan, what is this rubbish?
Mind-blowing...spirit-blowing
The Absolute infinite is not good or bad, to ascribe human forms of emotions, thoughts, shapes, colors, ideals and other limitations the human mind tries to impose which is the definition of Maya. Suffering is a quality of all vanishing objects. The rock struggles to maintain its shape from pressures of nature, iron struggles with oxygen rusting it, all microorganisms struggle to survive. This is feature of the forms. naturally all forms struggle to preserve themselves. As long as You have form, you will strongly until you realize your formless nature, then all suffering will be so insignificant.
You nailed it sir..very well said sir
Mubarak Alsaleh well but even if form does realize that he is formless will his sufferings disappear? i don’t know. If u get self realized then will u stop eating food to preserve yourself?
Why there is suffering in life:
There is no creator, so no creation. Universe is manifestation of “ Divine consciousness “: upanishads 🙏
Objective world exists in duality: day night, good bad etc so is joy & suffering, two sides of the same coin called life!

"Who suffers" ? Dissolves subject / object experience into Pure Knowing/Being. "Why is there suffering" ? Perpetuates cause and effect needlessly.
Attachment is the root to all suffering the flesh gives pleasure and it can also give it polarity which is suffering. Attachment!!
Why so much suffering ruclips.net/video/XbO_AGBKJ0k/видео.html
Sir ,pronam neben .Apni prosno gulor khub valo uttar diyechen.
All animals in this world suffer because of attachment. Suffering stops once you become detached. Practice detachment to transcend suffering.
I understand the attachment as in humans, but attachments in animals!! I don't understand
SAM ñ SAC Dubey the "my body" attachment is there in all living beings i.e. their fear of death..Etc.
Yes that is exactly what he is saying. Once you realize that you are atman(which is brahman) you won’t look at sorrow or death as something bad.
even if it's true that the suffering is not real, it still seems real.
Great Answer 👍👍👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
And the answer is this life is a movie, but you will only understand that when you get enlightenment .then you can watch it as movie without experience it
Pain is sure.. But suffering is optional.. - buddha..
Swamiji has provided the true answer 15:00 , not a correct one
My questions: 1. If God is only good, why did God allow the law of karma to exist that causes suffering to beings in present and the next lives for those who bolieve that maya is reality
and they don't do bhakti to break it
because of ignorance?
Well said
JhonnyBoy..I also agree with your logic of the movie upto some extent, but wouldn't there be some threshold limit or less suffering/pain/violence/massacre in the movie & more amount of Love/bliss/enjoyment in the movie could have been created by all-good ,all-blissful,all-loving ,all-powerfull God.!
Jai Sri Ramakrishna
What happens to a masochist when they pray for Bliss?
Great comment!
Please take my Pranam Swamiji..🙏🙏🙏
It seems to me that,
God has given us the free hand on to choose between good & evil .As we choose so as our karmik account get updated, accordingly the action or result come to us.
Now these questions would come naturally & if you could put some light on it -
1. We have given a physical body where vices are more prominent at these era ( it something like a child is given with some sharp object in his hand, such that a blunder is so evident ),
