    • @rajikrishnan2
      @rajikrishnan2 Год назад +27

      Why do have to give such importance to Nobel prize. You want to limit Swami Sarvapriyananda's knowledge to those few people who are sitting there and deciding who should get. Who are these few? What intelligence they have that they can decide Swami Sarvapriyanamdaji's knowledge?
      Swami.Sarvapriyanandaji is above all and I don't think he expects anything like this. Otherwise he wouldn't be called as Swmi.
      I know your wish comes out of respect for him. But certainly Nobel prize should not be the yard stick.

      Hey Bub I feel like we both share the same overwhelming respect and reverence of Swami Sarvaprivananda. Even though the intention is beautiful, but award and recognition are constructs of thought and serve no purpose but to validate the false sense of self. If you want to show him respect and gratitude for all understandings he has given you then embody his teachings by constantly observing your nature and reactions to raw sensory input with no action and no judgment. Observation with no judgment. Swami requires no external validation…… secure within the self excellence is it’s own reward.

    Powerful words:
    "We must see that mortality is in the body, disease and decay are in the life forces (Prana), happiness and sadness and desire and frustration are in the mind, ignorance and knowledge are in the intellect. All of these are in the five sheaths - none of them are in the pure consciousness, their witness, we already are right now.
    All of spiritual life is meant to bring us to this understanding -
    not in a lecture, not in books, but actually as a living reality."

    Beauty of Vedanta is, it reveals the ultimate truth 'Thou Art That' without using the crutches of religion, concepts of God, heaven and hell. Once you understand and correct your vision, the mistaken appearance of snake in the rope causing fear and anxiety disappears. There is nothing wrong with the Srishti (Creation), we just need to correct our Drishti (Vision). Train our minds to see only Gold in different Ornaments, Clay in different pots, Ocean in every drop and God in all humanity.

But swamiji very clearly and cleverly explained in the example of a wave that it is full of water and each part of a wave is only water and nothing else and even when the wave dies down, water still remains ; this fully explains about "self" or who am I !!

    Thank you for this wonderful talk, I'm very glad I came upon it during a fit of self-questioning, when I for some reason became curious again about the 5 koshas. Having arrived at the points that we are mere pure consciousness, and that there is little to know about consciousness except that it is the "ingredient" which experiences other things, what I take away is that it is time to stop worrying about my body, my desires, my mind, my intellect and my own capacity for contentedness, and that I should use this consciousness to reach out and know other things, perhaps bringing a bit of my own experience, wisdom and compassion to them. I like thinking of this relentless human self-obsession as nothing but a necessary first step to calm, ground, and prepare our consciousness for worrying about other things.

    I am so glad to have discovered this lecture by Swami Sarvapriyananda. It is one of the greatest, if not the greatest, of all lectures! It is also a blessing and a great service to humanity on the part of Swamiji to have given the lecture in English even though I realize that English might not be his first language and therefore he might have alternatively chosen to give it in Hindi or Sanskrit. My joy is that he indeed gave the lecture in English albeit the fact that it is my third language (Luo and Swahili are my first and second languages, respectively) since I am a Kenyan and have been raised in a Christian (Catholic) tradition. I really do appreciate Swamiji's great command of the English language. No lecturer, English or otherwise, could have done it any better for I was completely spellbound!

      Uhh..a little deeper than that actually. You are the one who is experiencing that silence and serenity, you are not the silence. You are the one through which the experience of that silence is illumined. That's Brahman.
