  • Country singer Darius Rucker shared his frustrations after Chris Stapleton performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVII. Darius Rucker made it clear that Chris Stapleton was not the issue, but that it was what the fans in attendance were doing that caught the Country singer's attention. Needless to say, Darius Rucker did not hold back.

I'm not into sports, but I had to stop your video to go find Chris Stapleton's National Anthem performance. Thanks for cluing me into it. That was so beautiful, I was crying. When people can't respect our flag and our nation, it annoys me, but underneath it all, it tells me that they don't know how to appreciate what we have and how many people have struggled for us, as strangers, to have it. It makes me think of them as hollow people, and I'm grateful that I have the capacity to really love what is important to me. They lavish gifts on their bodies, since their minds and hearts are cold and long dead.
    God Bless America.

Chris Stapleton put a Reverence into our National Anthem that has Not been a part of most every Super Bowl in many many years!! It has become a performance of "how many rolls and notes can I ADD," to the Anthem, to make it mine. Chris made the Anthem, Reverent, sung from the heart, respectful, putting Honor into every word. Even his guitar work was simple, respectful and heartfelt. It's evident in how many Artists, foreigners, and patriots have been moved by our Anthem that it touched their hearts and have spoken such here on this forum. I'm proud that I am not alone in voicing my heartfelt love of this song and the words and meaning of Francis Scott Key and how his heart was touched and the words that came to him in seeing the Star Spangled Banner still flying at daylight after constant bombarding through the night by the British on Sept. 14, 1814.
