    I subbed for this build. You unofficial guys are KILLING IT!!
    Your carving is impressive. Jason Makes is doing a pretty detailed flying V. This is gunna be sick when you're done, I believe.

    I found your mini-lesson on when to use a mallet--and more importantly, why or why not--fascinating. Obvious, once explained, but not so beforehand. Great presentation and great work, looking forward to the next installment.

    Personally I have found that the more creative and artistic people keep disastrously unkempt working spaces, so you are right in there bud! It's obviously not like you don't have the patience to clean up after yourself! The carving is coming along very nicely! I know you will finish this with the same care and attention you have used in every phase of this build. I trust the final owner will have an appreciation for the time and effort you have put in to this artwork!

    You can add definition to the feathers using pyrography. It’s used quite extensively for realistic bird carving and is very effective even under the paint.

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  4 года назад +1

      Tim Done oh thanks. I do work with pyrography, but never thought to try it underneath paint. I shall give it a go!

    That technique for defining the spine of the feather was really helpful and not something I'd have come to on my own I don't think.

    I totally agree with that comment about adding texture to the guitar top. Flat surfaces and shiny paint is just OK. I like to see a theme carving to give the guitar life.

    After spending some time with hand tools I realized how versatile can simple shovel or hammer be. Especially when you use them to create instead of furiously smashing stuff
    Now you are telling me that mallet is used to be more precise. My gut feeling was right 😃
    I love your build. It gets better with every episode. Keep on making!

    Great concept and carving but on a shitty bit of pine, it feels like a waist! Granted you're painting it. If it doesn't interfere with your hand too much, an eagle head inspired, head stock could be something.

    • @KingBespokeCreations
      @KingBespokeCreations  4 года назад +1

      Antony Elliott yes the wings are getting painted. The reason for the pine (usually a odd choice I know!) is that it can from a church pew! I couldn’t resist the link to the angel wings!

    lookin' good so far. for the very small lines try placing your blade on the work and rocking it back, instead of scribing them. this will automatically make the line decrease depth as they go. good vid, can't wait to see how it turns out.

    Your workshop is a glorious mess. Never be ashamed of it. If it bothers you, then find ways to achieve just enough order for your comfort and safety. Tidy minds are not often creative minds, though it can and does happen. But creativity and mess very often come bundled together.
