I just subscribed to your channel upon finishing this video, mainly because I was planning to sell all my inventory and stop altogether. I am pretty close to letting go of my stuff and start fresh with something easier to store. This video has given me hope to not give up and find my own niche! Thanks!

Well hello...I have family down there in Cincinnati. I live up north of you right off I-75, hometown of Neil Armstrong. Great idea. The stuff I landed came from a couple neighbors that were moving out and was leaving the stuff behind. So free it was which was great but it's been slow moving here and there plus I have so much that sometimes I am overwhelmed with getting it loaded with pics etc. Hoping this summer I can get more loaded online and get more or better organized.

  • @InfernoPS
    @InfernoPS 2 года назад +11

Yeah don't hold on to the inventory. We are in the business of flipping, not storing. I usually do it like this: New items are up for a week, haven't sold the second week 10% off, third week 20% off, fourth week 30% off whatever is left in week 5 stays on 30% but i send out offers for another 5-10%. I do that, especially with big items (Electronics, Kitchen Aid Mixer etc) to get them moving fast. Smaller items I don't really mind them sitting for a while, they are store fillers.

That's exactly what we're doing as well...out with the old, in with the new. We've cultivated connections with several of the local HiBid auctioneers and push old stock out through one while pulling new stock from another! The idea isn't to become a warehouse, it's to get things in-and-out as quickly as possible while making a buck. If it's not selling, it's dead weight...

What timing! I have enough inventory to fill a large store and its just me doing ebay. Has to be 30k worth just sitting. Paying for storage units, filling garage and sheds. Now looking for more storage in backyard. And garage sale season starting! You just convinced me completely wrong approach! I need to purge dead inventory and stop listing items for less than $10-20. • @KeithLund

I was worried you were quitting altogether, lol. Selling a bunch of stale inventory to make room for new inventory was a great idea. I went through several purges of my inventory throughout the winter, donating stuff to my local Savers, but I still have too much stuff that's taking up space, space that I need for new stuff. I go to estate sales, garage sales, curb alerts, and thrift stores, so I acquire a ton of stuff from May through September. The rest of the year it's difficult. I sold a lot that I got last summer, but there is still a ton that won't sell. A decent amount are items I thought would be highly sought after, but I was proven wrong. I've learned a lot, but there's always so much more to learn. I worked so hard to build up quantity last year, increasing my average listing count from 225 to 925, that I really need to focus more on quality this year. My average price is horrendous, $15, which includes shipping.

I knew something was up when I went to your store the other day and only saw like 5 items! Last summer I cleared about 40 bins of inventory that was never listed. Average cost per bin was $25. So $900 but spread over 4 years and I had reached over $50k in gross sales and still have items to list. This was basically bundling. No net effect on profit but cleared storage and brain drain.

I was just wondering, is there a simple and easy way to transfer a whole store, or even a select amount of listings in your store from one account to another? Would be a nice option to have to unload inventory from one person to another.

My sales tanked with the war. And after many deep markdown sales, got rid of my sweet cheap tiny windowless office, took my store down to zero, got rid of the store but not the account, and gave my inventory away.
I love to source of course, but am really tired of listing indoors and missing the ocean and summer.

Really smart to move the old dead stock! I need to go through my old stuff that isn't selling. Typically, I'll cut the price, and if that doesn't work, I donate. Also smart to work on raising average selling price. It takes the same amount of time to list a $100 item as it does a $10 item. I judge my capacity in terms of listings. So getting the average selling price UP gets me more $$ for the same # of listings.

Awesome 🤩 Can’t wait to see what you find next 🥰 I’ve thought about having a couple of my reseller friends come pick through my “death pile”. Just get the load lighter. I miss the treasure hunt 💕

    Great video!
Can you make a video of the process to sell your eBay store?

The first year book I bought was for 25 cents. University of Pennsylvania. Spent a long time communicating with their alumni society. Bingo! Peter O'Malley was in it. Former Dodgers owner. Sold it for $100. I love buying them too.

Looking forward to the new videos, but can you start doing longer videos or more frequent ones, 👍🏽

A question I keep coming back to: Do you have a number in your head of what it costs you to sell stuff? When you buy something at a yard sale for $10, do you already know it's going to cost you say 25% between packaging, shelf rent, handling, ebay fees, etc, before you start to make a profit?

Good luck…it does feel god to purge! I recently bought a Barbie collection for $1,000…there were about 230 Barbie’s in total all boxed! They were mostly from the 80’s and 90’s. I will say be careful when doing your research there are a lot of fake comps out there in the Barbie category for some reason!

Only be married to something you collect, but not inventory :))) had to spice it up a little :) Even stuff that you collect, eventually can be sold.

I'm in NE Ohio (east of Cleveland) would you share your method of finding garage sales.
