coz yes you are right. That's weird if you got 12v on red and ground the black you should have the red/green led flashing if not you may have a bad module try to reset it by sticking something in the second hole and holding that button for 5 secs also there should be a USB slot on the front might need to be updated although that wont stop it from coming on

That's an excellent clip. Job well done. You did a great job explaining everything. I have an older Ford Focus which doesnt have steering wheel controls but I reckon I can get the stalk out of a junkyard and install it myself, rather than just changing the steering column out. I like my steerring column and trust the controls on it because they are in perfect condition. I wouldnt trust a used steering column as much so I would rather just add a new control stalk to my exsisting unit, if it's possible. It shouldnt be too hard.

ok so this is the aswc1 harness and it is only for steering wheel control set ups for select cars. your pac gm31 harness is the full wire harness for wiring up the radio and having the built in steering wheel controls just but turning the dial on the module to program them for the radio you have. some cars dont need the full pac harness so this is another option to retrain controls

Why can't u just add the wire onto the aftermarket harness that comes with the jvc, pioneer, sony,Kenwood etc .splicing into the factory wire harness ummm idk about that imo. What I'm saying is that if the factory harness has a wire in #11 spot and the aftermarket harness is empty in #11 spot just insert the wire in that spot.

SO CAN I NO LONGER USE MY 3.5 MM JACK FOR AUDIO IN?

Not the same jack. The one used is not audio in. It's located in the back of the unit and is for wired remote only

On my Pioneer SPH-DA120, it's labeled W/R (Wired Remote). If you don't have a plug, you have to use the adapter that comes with the controller.

The new JVC 750 BT has a 3.5 mm Audio In but also has the steering wheel wire. This video 2 years old so I guess some things have changed since then.

There us only 1 option for steering wheel controls. Jvc and kenwood will have a blue wire w/yellow strip for swc. The 3.5 is for aux input only

@@jptheinstallguy it has a Audio in and Audio out. Darn, so I cant use those? I thought 1 was for the Aux and the other was for steering wheel?

    • @jptheinstallguy

@@chukwuemekaonyema2716 no sir...lol those are for aux only. kenwood and jvc are the only mainstream brands that use a single wire for SWC alpine, pioneer, sony all use the 3.5

@@jptheinstallguy You was right. My JVC had Audio in but not AUX in which is what I needed. I bought a Toyota specific harness and connected brown to blue/yellow as you suggested and everything worked after programming.
