Love the A340, but it is unfair to compare a 747 to an A340-300. 747 vs A340-600 may be compared to an extent. However, the A340-600 is 13 years younger than the 747-400. BRU to JFK in exact same conditions, at max ZFW of each aircraft the 747 burns 11 tonnes more fuel than the A340-600. Same conditons the 777-300ER which is more comparable to the A340-600 burns 900kg per hour less than the A340.

‘European Concepts’ is a joke about the fact that boeings have a yoke and thus pilots cant eat comfortably :)
