This song is very much in the spirit of what Springsteen was doing with "Born in the USA" with lyrics that are less patriotic than one would assume from the refrain. There is an even bigger hint here that all of the references are American and nothing mentioned is really English at all. It's a great mockery. This song should be loved way more than it is.
