Thanks so much for watching! Keep in mind that *you're able to slowly swim above any sea creature, even the fast ones, and press A to directly dive onto it instead of chasing.* If you have any other FAQ, I'll address them in this pinned comment. 👍
For the fast swimmers, you can chase after them and when you’re quite close to them, just walk towards it slowly without pressing the A button. And when you are on top of the fast sea creature, press Y
The easiest way I’ve found to catch the fast creatures is actually to just direct your character towards the bubbles without pressing A, and as your character floats over to them, they don’t move, or move very slightly, making it easy to just plop right down and grab em!
I was just about to make the same comment, but I wasn’t sure if this method is what worked, or if I’d pinned it against the beach lol! Deffo will just be drifting on over next time.
I just figured out a HUGE flaw in the new swimming update.. so you know when you’re inviting ppl on your island to do a trade and you block off your entrance so they won’t go anywhere you don’t want them to? Well now they can just wear a swimsuit and JUMP OVER THE AIRLINE PIER and just literally swim around your island and take anything that is dropped, chop your trees and pick your fruits etc.. so if you’re inviting multiple people pay attention to everyone just in case :) I feel like they should’ve just not allowed anyone to swim off the pier like that but oh well
I personally just make sure ppl have nothing to steal before I invite over. Golden roses plucked, diy bottle picked up etc etc. Not a big deal at all unless you are lazy and greedy. I don't value fruit or shells and such, and I don't hoard a trillion turnips/diy outside because I like actually keeping things neat so yee
That’s not a flaw in the game. That’s huge flaw in one’s morality. If they want to go out if their way to steal items from a game, they must be beyond stupid because that’s the pettiest way to obtain items. Aside from that, I always tidy up my island before I do trade or open it up to random people to visit. Never had a problem with people stealing things from my island. It’s just common sense to not drop things around that you don’t want them to go missing for whatever reasons. If it’s tips from visitors, I don’t really care if people take them, it’s not real money anyway and I already have too much bells sitting in ABD. It’s just a game, people need to relax and just enjoy it for what it’s worth. If they’re paranoid about what others may take or steal from them in a game like AC, they must have some issues too like what are you trying to achieve in life by hoarding items?
I'll admit, I didn't watch this before I caught the Giga Giant Clam and spent like 30-40mins chasing it around because I thought it was going to do what sea creatures in New Leaf did and escape to the inaccesible side of the boundary. Thankfully, New Horizons doesn't do that. I can follow your tip without worry :)
i found one yesterday while looking for vampire squids to finish my cephalopod collection it wasn't what i was looking for but boy will i treasure it. edit: i somehow caught another one
@@pigeonwithpen_ Actually, I've caught 24 now and the rest can be found in September, October, November, and December. Right now without time traveling I need to wait a while till I can catch the entire set of 40.

THANK YOU, can't believe i've been chasing a huge crab for 20 mins preventing it from escaping when it can't even escape and it's even easier to drive it to the corners of your island
I’ve been subscribed to ur channel for about 2 weeks now and I’ve been binge watching ur videos. I’ve never watched a YTer so educated and detailed before. They either talk too much or leave out important info. Thanks for getting to the point and explaining clearly.
They seem a lot more generous with catching sea creatures in New Horizons than they were in New Leaf. I remember all those times I was so close to catching a fast critter and almost had it right as it slipped underneath the boundary line where I couldn't follow or they would just flat disappear in a bunch of bubbles. Thanks for the video by the way, it's much appreciated!
For those struggling with the Giant Isopod: Lemme give you a tip. Go on a deserted island first. It's a smaller sea size so you'll have an easier time chasing it. Try and catch it above water and herd it toward the barrier net. When it hits the invisible wall it can't pass, it'll bounce back toward you. If it passes you, then just go above water again and swim away, then inch toward it a bit and herd it back against the wall. Eventually, you'll catch it faster, and can even farm them!
nobody will understand the amount of respect I have for abdallah like this dude spends more than 1000 hours just to provide all of this information like really, god bless u man
Also to catch the fast creatures you can ‘sneak up on them’ by just moving with your joy stick. When you do this the don’t run away and you can get directly on top of them. Hope this helps.

I've been spending all day swimming around my island. I've only caught multiples of a few things but the swimming update is my favorite. I wish they would do a surfing update next since we have surfboards as items.
You can approach the fast ones quickly by very slowly moving towards it on the surface. You can then dive and if all was timed well, you can catch it almost immediately without much of a chase.

The sea creature will move and show little sand patches like how they would when they are running but this time they wont move fast and you'll actually catch up to them, once you are close enough you can dive down and swim how you normally would to catch them.
This technique is a lot easier and faster!
