When you rinse the dry sand, you do it with regular tap water?

when you fitted the hose for the return pump, why did you not cut off the smaller diameter hose bit? surely this has now reduced the flow to the smaller diameter?

Good catch! It will absolutely slow down the flow leaving the smaller barb section on there. But even with us leaving this on there we are still needing to slow down the flow of the pump as at full blast it is way to strong for the tank and blows the sand around. So for us on this particular setup it is not an issue to leave it on there.

I have a question . In the specification of the 625 xxl I see 502 liter for the main tank . But if I calculate with 150x65x60. I have a volume of 585 . Can someone explain ?

you must subtract the dimensions of the glass and the overflow
      .

Not a big deal unless you got gobies or other sand sifters.

@@zerberus2525 ok so enlighten me why is it bad? They not gonna fall on their own and crack the glass if there is no sand sifting.

Nutrients m8! Not now, not in a month, not in two, but it will happen, its a deadspot under the rock, so detritus and everything else will rot under it. Its the first thing you learn if you start a reef seriously...

@@zerberus2525 that...... actually makes alot of sense! Lol i always thought you put rocks in the glass so there is no displacement. But wouldnt detritus accumulate regardless in the corners of the rock?
