Not only is your design and layout aesthetic amazing, you have an extremely keen sense of how to make the interior of a base feel like a home. Extremely impressive.
I like building bases, but I don't get anywhere near this level of detail and creativity. I have a few of them among my uploads here on RUclips, if you want some contrast to this build :-D (No, I'm not saying that to "promote my channel", I only upload stuff to show to friends or as examples in online conversations like this. Also, if you do look at them, you'll see what I mean by "contrast".)
1:19 those ships had impeccable timing! also what an amazing build! it looks like a real modern home, absolutely stunning and beautiful!! definitely the most realistic looking modern house i’ve seen so far, it’s extremely detailed. and everything looks so well placed that makes sense and not just randomly thrown together. congrats and bravo!! 👏 👍 👌 🔥
This looks amazing. I am just starting to stop and build a legit home base. This makes me think I need to look at timber vs. alloy!! Decisions, decisions!!!
I was most impressed with the functional appliances( are those mods?) also the lab was Outstanding! Such a great use of space and decor. You even had a gardening shed outside a ways from the house. That was one cool base!
I just restarted this a week ago and have been going to town trying to finish the story and other missions to unlock the staff multitool. This. This will be the next goal. Material farming and unlocking all the structures so I can start creating and upgrading my bases. Amazing build! So sad about the update though!
I don’t know why I was expecting commentary on the house. At least I know it wont take an arm and a leg for my character to live in it lol. Amazing work!!!
Wonderful work. My own base has been compromised by planet changes so I will be moving it (with the aid of a save editor) to a new planet, after the next update. Happy to help out with your base too if you like, though it is very molded to the topography of its site.
I really appreciate it, but I'm on Xbox so save editor isn't an option unfortunately. Unless the Worlds 2 update is bringing us cloud save migration between Xbox and PC gamepass versions, but that's just a rumor so we'll have to see once its out 👀
After playing this game a couple times for free and owning the disc version a few times before selling it I finally bought it digitally after the latest update and I am amazed by everything you can do please tell me this base isn't using mods I want to explore every aspect of this game and Base building is my favorite things to do in these types of games
I'm on Xbox so everything you see here is from the base game, no mods! I love base building too and NMS is some of the best imo! It has its restrictions but my favorite part is finding unique ways to overcome those restrictions and push the boundaries of what's possible. It's a great time to really get into the game, there’s so much content to explore it's damn near overwhelming!
@@squircledI've played about 200 hours and haven't done a lot of basebuilding yet, can you tell me (or point me in the direction of someone who can tell me) how you were able to do the microwave/nutrient processor or the PC/trade terminal? Is it just placing an object on top of another or is there more to it? Thanks
There was a little more setup than that for those microbuilds, especially the microwave. For the computer, it's a shrunk down trade terminal using the cache pin glitch (would recommend Beeblebum and Toskvision's videos on how to do cache pinning) with a space station box and ad screen over it. The microwave sucked because it uses a box light, so lining it up next to it to try to peek through the box from an adjacent snap position was really hard to get right, and on top of that the light box has cascading deletion so it was back to square one if it was slightly wrong! I might make some tutorials for it in the future too!
I started at the floor at the top of the stairs and placed 2 short walls up on the side I wanted the wall/railing to be on and deleted the lower one. From there I placed a stone wall under the remaining "floating" short wall then deleted that short wall. Everything snaps from the stone wall since the top of it now makes the railing, so adding a sloped stone wall down the stairs and just tiling the rest of the wall out was pretty easy from there!
A few types of structural pieces can actually be expanded in the parts menu to show and be able to choose from its base, mid, and top variants. The ones that can be expanded have 2 little yellow lines on its tile in the parts menu.
I just started this game and the entire reason is to be able to do builds like this. I have no idea where to start but this is just incredible. Was it hard to learn?
I don't think it was as hard to learn as it was time consuming. There was a lot of trial and error to see what works and what doesn't with this build but now that I’ve gotten some practice, building is definitely taking less time!
Unfortunately not that I know of. You can get all used materials back from a deleted base with a base salvage capsule but everything would still have to rebuilt manually.
How do you arrange to have the base computer perfectly placed inside? I thought once the base computer was plopped it couldn't be moved. Was this just super careful planning knowing it would sit right there in that room? Beautiful build!
You can move a base computer once it's plopped, you just can't delete it or plop a new one nearby. So it was easy to pick up and place there once I knew that's where I wanted it to go! The only kinda tricky part is the rotation since it's hard to see which side opens up when you pick it up!
Many times during the build! But I cut stuff down and optimized it down to 2998/3000 in the end. I left those last couple open so I could add more expedition decals to the board up in the office/lab as they came out haha
It's a scaling exploit called "cache pinning" that allows you to scale up or down any object by up to 3 times! There's crazier methods too that allow you to infinitely scale objects, but normal cache pinning is pretty easy to do if you’re just casually building. I recommend checking out Beeblebum's or Toskvision's videos on it, it can be used for a lot more than just scaling!
A lot!! There were several times I ran out of silicate powder and carbon where I had to make long trips to carve out the inside of a mountain or do a bit of deforestation lol!
No mods were used for this build, it was all done on Xbox in standard survival mode! Unfortunately after the 5.0 Worlds update the planet is no longer a paradise planet, its an all pink/purple Hazy (swamp) planet with superheated rainstorms, definitely a below average place to have a base now :(
@@squircled Yeah, the same thing happened to two of my bases -- including my favorite base, created in homage to my late mom, thanks to this stupid update.

If someday I win the lottery I'm gonna show this video to the architect and tell him that this is exactly what I want.
lol yes!
As an architect, I approve your decision. This is marvelous.
Make sure they build on the right planet 😂
Man, I would higher someone to do it for me on my account. 😊

This is masterpiece, really a beautiful retro future 70s Miami style mansion
That is an exceedingly nice estate. Tasteful, functional, well thought out, transitions from one space to another are well presented. Excellent work!
Absolutely beautiful build!! Love that it's completely functional as well!!
this is so wild. I've had no mans sky since the beginning and didn't realize you could do all of this.
Darn it, just when I think I have something right, I see this and realise I need to lift my game immensely. Great base, thanks for sharing.
This is just so stunning. I can't wait to get into building in NMS, but wow will I never know how you did this
This is the coolest base in NMS I've seen so far. Very good taste. Thumbs up!
Whoa. This looks like a real life house. Good job!
Im happy this video was recommended to me.
pc trade terminal was brilliant
I hope one day be able to build bases so beautiful like this one.

Wow this is really well laid out base, love the open floor plan and offset staggered floors.

I wish my brain could come up with just 6% of this stuff
HS so majestic. 😮
Love it. Gives sort of a Frank Lloyd Wright feel. Might come out and be your neighbor (i promise I won't drag the property value down with a shack).
The new gold standard. My base is essentially a 3rd world shack compared to this.
Stunning

When will No Man’s Sky do VR? This would be a great place to hang out with friends.
I certainly already does. Its a great experience and you should definitely try it.

By far the best base I've seen since the game came out. A shame it probably goes over the build limit for others to see.
It actually doesn't, its just below the limit! It's fully uploaded and can be visited at the portal address in the description!
Freaking awesome!!! Good work
this has definite starfish Island Vibes
You should rebuild and invite Enes Yilmazer for a tour.
So, is this what happens when an architect becomes addicted to No Man's Sky?

I'd love to do a video like that for a future build!
I have to know how you made the walls along the steps to function as railing. I’ve been struggling with railings forever now.
I started at the floor at the top of the stairs and placed 2 short walls up on the side I wanted the wall/railing to be on and deleted the lower one. From there I placed a stone wall under the remaining "floating" short wall then deleted that short wall.
