    Mike
A great set of videos. They have been very helpful as i progress through my single rail rebuild.
A question about the 3rd/4th gear selector hub. At about 17:30 you state the snout of the inner section and the groove of the outer section should be installed forward. However, it looks like you installed the snout pointing aft (I believe forward pointing is correct). Can you confirm.
    Thanks, steve

Sharp eyes Steve. Yep. I assembled it backwards even though I was trying my best to orient it properly on the bench.
In a future video, the gear train had to be reassembled. I think it got done right the second time.

    Hey Mike,
Watching you struggle with the 1st and 2nd gear selector detents I am curious as to how you find it shifting in and out of the first 2 gears (I assume you have it install and running by now)? I had very little troubles installing mine such as you found installing the 3rd and 4th detents but as per the parts catalog I have two different spring sizes. 1st and 2nd got shorter springs as the holes are shallower, and 3rd and 4th received longer springs, I couldn't tell by watching the video if your springs were different lengths and you made no mention of it.

I had to reassemble the gear train after trying to install it in a later episode. I don't remember if I caught it that time. Anyways, I was able to shift the gears on the bench after getting it fully assembled. I ended up selling it so I don't honestly know. I appreciate you sharing your observation.

Where do you find your assembly diagram and reference book? I have a Haynes manual for the 1500 coming in the mail but just pulled my transmission for rebuild. Mine has overdrive but from what I can tell that mechanism doesn't change the main gearbox you've focused on.

You mixed up the synchro springs with the 1st gear springs, that's why you struggled to get the hub together. The springs you used were too long.

Dang. Nothing I can do about it now. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it!
