Yeah, I agree. The hydraulic steering seems dangerously spongy. Give me a dual cable setup anyday, feeling the torque helps one to understand and control the boat. Also, hydraulic steering never centers itself, which can be distracting. VERY NICE OUTBOARD RAID VIDEO!!
The play is not in the wheel as it looks. I have a mirage jaguar ski racer and when these boats are at 100+ you only have the tail in the water. The boats at that speed do a speed slide and you have to turn the wheel way before the turn to allow for the slide, The wheel has to be turned right and left to fine adjust the travel.

Nothing wrong with his boat. It is flying on the rear pad. Likely nothing in the water except the prop....hopefully most of it. He is also able to do the things he's doing because he knows how to drive a tunnel...nuf said. As far as the vest goes kinda hard to argue with that one.
i guess people don't understand thats how a high performance outboard drives! It's not a jet ski you idiots! high performance tunnel hulls drive just like Chris' boat. Excellent job Chris I like the other vids especially the Swannee.
