Saying Peter's voice can easily be replaced for Wallace seems hard to imagine. Peter Sallis was Wallace in heart and soul of that unique voice. That comforting and heart warming voice that personified English tea and cheese isn't something that can just be plucked off a tree. Wallace will surely no longer be the true Wallace without that irreplaceable voice we all know and loved. At least for me. Makes it all the more a sad loss. RIP Mr Sallis sir. You will be missed in so many ways.

I disagree. It's true Wallace will not be the same without Peter Sallis, but having just Gromit would be like having Jerry without Tom, Abbot without Costello, Laurel without Hardy, Butthead without Beavis and so on.

Peter will always be THE Wallace, there are many others that can do Wallace's voice to a tee but there will no other voice making as much of a footprint as what Peter did from 1989 all the way through to 2011. He was the first choice, and will remain a legend sitting at the top of the list in the UK's animation culture. He will always remain as cracking as the animation that was modelled around his voice.

A cracking tribute to the man that brought Nick's character of Wallace to life. Of course, Ben Whitehead is now the voice of Wallace since Peter retired in 2011. But Peter brought such charm and life to the character of Wallace. He will be dearly missed. RIP Peter Sallis
He sure will be missed. It's hard to imagine Wallace and Gromit without Peter Sallis. Even Nick Park has been reluctant to do anything with the characters since Peter's retirement. But Peter did say in an interview that he sees no reason why the characters couldn't go on without him. That showed what a humble guy he was. Ben Whitehead is a good replacement, but he'll never be as good as Peter Sallis.

I'm 27 and I loved Wallace and gromit always. This man's voice will always brighten up my day.
Never forget him voicing several other projects such as Rocky Hollow and The Wind in the Willows (1984) before voicing our favorite cheese-loving inventor.

I'm gonna miss knowing this man was out there being innocent and charming, Wallace and Gromit was a huge chunk of my childhood and I still adore it along with Aardman itself today due to how pure and lovable it is so his death really hurt, thank you for the video by the way, it's wonderful and brings me back, though I really thought of him as Wallace, rest in peace Peter, will remember you fondly... goodness, alongside Adam West, we lost two iconic voices in one week, pretty rough

When I heard the Peter sallis died I literally cried this man voiced one of my all-time favorite characters of my childhood and of animation history I hope that Peter is in a better place along side Mel blanc

96 years at this point in history must have been a trip. He saw the world change from the Ford Model T Coupe and the smallest computer was unable to fit through a door, the birth of the internet in the 1960s, all the way to the sophisticated people of 2017 where we argue over who the best celebrity is, and post random crap on the internet about how the world has changed.
RIP Peter been ages since a celebrity death made me feel sad, my favourite line was the one Peter delivered in a Grand Day Out, the fuse, you forgot to light the fuse! It was so funny but well acted out! Did a tribute on my page to him too! I was in a Wallace and Gromit comic on fanmail page in 2007
i am currently in a year of mourning to remember the deceased, although I do not doubt I will continue to unofficially mourn Peter's passing many years from now. God is cruel but righteous

For Younger (around 50 or younger) People, he was an inventor, who owns a Dog and Loves Cheese.
I grew up with him as Wallace thanks to my Grandmother, Who recorded them as it airs on VHS...She passed away a less then a year after Sallis, and she is the reason I *still* Love Aardman’s British Claymation!!!

Well..to my unfortunate opinion, Wallace and gromit may have only been his assistant Sons of Nick park, Morph being the Small Project and..welp..Since aardman animations have gotten better..They don't need Wallace and gromit anymore..They have moved on..with there...uhhhh...Clay..Life's?
But morph (his first Main Guy) is still needed For the Well Serious Of doozies that go on in the studio, but maybe then morph will move on too..but who knows when!

no words can explain how fantastic Peter Sallis was he was the heart and soul of Wallace and will be immortalised as the eccentric cheese loving inventor and as Norman Clegg in Last of the summer wine. I will forever remember the joy he brought to my life and the lives of others.
