You worth the sub as just from my experience with MS OS new ones. Doing a fresh install of a new Win OS is better than doing the upgrade from Win 10 to 11. I still don't or still use my Win 10 as 21H2 version so far is stable for my machine and glad to see some settings that you mentioned there to disable. My preference is having little programs that to make OS stable and faster in the reboot. Best of luck to you out there and wish you always the best.

Sometimes it wants to boot, sometimes it doesn't. When it finally boots, it takes more than 80 seconds to make something appear on my monitor. I tried contacting the company that sold me the pc, since I have some warranty left, but they told me that I can return the pc so that they would check it out, but the return itself would be on my on risk they said. This makes me not want to return it, and now I'm stuck. I tried doing all types of research, nothing tends to work, does anyone know what I can do :(

In my daily job as a IT techniques, I also do optimization on older systems with Windows 10 (and 11), something that annoys me is: Some systems don't allow you to turn off startup apps in the Task Manager. Sure you can turn them off, but for some reason Windows turn them on again by itself. Everytime I see this issue, the only thing that works, is doing it in the Windows settings, like you shows. Most of our customers with Windows 11, has a brand new computer, or a computer that supports Windows 11, but some do have a system that we need to optimize, and this behavior with startup apps in Task Manager, is also something I have seen in Windows 11.
To be clear, this issue is random, some systems has it, but most system don't, like my own system. All Startup apps has been turned off in Task Manager, and I don't have the issue, and since I can't figure out what is causing this issue, I can't recreate it.
I have talked with my contact at Microsoft, he said he would look in to it, but the reply I got back was more like "Ehh not our problem". So what I'm trying to say is, if you want to be 100% sure you don't have a system with this issue, you need to use Windows Settings to turn Startup apps off, Whether it's Windows 11 or 10

I do have a "potato". It's a Dell XPS 8500 I bought in 2012. I mostly use it these days sparingly as I have a much newer laptop that was able to upgrade to Windows 11 which I do like a lot. I was reluctant to try 11 on the older computer. But after your 22h2 video I decided to give it a shot. It wasn't easy. Install kept failing. But finally after trying one suggestion and unplugging every USB item it worked! I really didn't notice a huge change from Windows 10 performance wise. I noticed something inside the computer I didn't know anything about. I'm not a complete novice but I've had so many older computers I really don't know much about SSD's. The XPS had an MSATA slot. I looked to see how much they were and they were really cheap. I wondered if I could use it as a boot drive. So, I got one, cloned my old spinning hard drive to it, and set it to boot. My desktop that took seemingly forever to reboot now starts up so much faster and I also notice a HUGE improvement in performance. I'm 71 and retired. I'm not a gamer. I'd love a new PC but this one works for what I use it for and I don't have tons of cash. My updates have worked great and call me crazy but I really prefer the Windows 11 look. I've done some of your other suggestions (although most were already done -- I'm very careful about minimizing stuff running in the background). I'm a movie collector and I use the desktop as a PLEX server. I do a little light video editing, PhotoShop for fun, creating DVD's for my collection and other really basic stuff. I really enjoy your tips and helping me "Bake" my potato (if baking means making it better and faster). I expect this to last as long as I do. Thanks! I told my son who is a software engineer to check out your videos as well. He just built his 2nd system and he is a gamer.

It is connected as an all in one " service" .
Look you're wasting your time ( and yes I realize people like this video's author and guys like Chris Titus Tech are only trying to legit help..) trying all of these debloat and " get back your performance by disabling these things in winturd" tricks.
In the end... Microsoft owns that PC that is supposed to be yours as long as you remain connected online for any reasonable consistent amount of time.
When you agreed to that E.U.L.A ..you just like every accidentally ignorant end user ...didn't realize that you also agreed for Microsoft to be allowed to execute whatever code they want...when they want.
Until you...the end user...get editing access to the windows kernel...any of these debloat or disabling Microsoft services things will always be undone and whatever garbage you removed..willl be auto reinstalled again via an inevitable winturd update.
I'm sorry, but facts don't care about anyone's feelings.
This has been a fact for over 10 years now.
The only real way to finally get back ownership of what is supposed to be ..YOUR PC..is to nuke windows( or never connect it online) and replace it with Linux instead.
I recommend Mint Cinnamon as it will probably be your smoothest transition. If ya need help doing it the right way...let me know.

If your system is slow, just upgrade it. Generally adding a fast SSD and some more RAM should do the trick and won't be prohibitively expensive. Of course we talk about a low end PC, obviously not a gaming PC that will always be expensive no matter what. Well, Windows 11 is generally slower than Windows 10. It's proven in countless benchmarks and user tests. But there's a catch. Either you have vulnerable and less compatible not upgraded Windows 10 that is in fact a little faster, or you have fully upgraded Windows 10 that is not that different from Windows 11. There's no going back in software, unless you want only to run old software. And for the new software you need new hardware. It's actually not new. It's the main reason Vista was hated so much - when it was released it had way too high hardware requirements, and to make it worse, they advertised it as having lower requirements. That's why we remember Windows 7 as being so much faster. On modern PCs Vista would be blazing fast. But it's just a theory, you wouldn't even get the drivers for the modern PC for Vista. That's why we're always stuck with the latest OS and we have to upgrade the PCs every couple of years.

When Vista was released it came installed on mostly Windows XP computers. You are absolutely correct. Windows Vista's main issue was that it was mostly installed on underspec computers. By the time Windows 7 was released hardware had not only caught up but surpassed the previous generation making most new Windows 7 systems overspec.

I have done all you said and Windows 11 is still slow that it took about 20 seconds to write 5 letters on firefox and it took about 45 seconds for firefox to open. I think you should retry windows 11 because is a asus rog 16 core computer and tha is very bad

If your computer needs any of this done.........well let's just say it's nice there is some performance you can claw back....but it's only a mitigation for having a system with one or more of these 3 problems.
    1 - old/ slow CPU
    2 - not enough RAM
    3 - no ssd
So, do this on a core 2 duo with 2-4gb of RAM and no SSD. On a newer system...there are diminishing returns. I hear so many people, mostly dinosaurs and people without experience, trumpet this kind of information like it's necessary. It's really not, but if you have a slow computer that isn't fast enough in the first place for your OS, you gotta do what you gotta do. Call me a devil, but I leave everything default and just tell em to put it to sleep instead of shutting down if they have a hard drive.
