this is a great method for a v configuration engine. I always thought you would need a known good waveform

Hi pls I also use the Autel scope. Did you ever figure how best to reduce the noise on the wave form. Was there ever an update that took care of this

When you check crank and cam timeing on a v engine are both banks suppose to be the same to compare to each other with a scope?

you really need a known good wave form for the engine you are working on.. on the engine that I am working on in the video,, the cam signals should follow one another.. but they do not. and when you put the crank signal in there, you definitely see and issue..
      thanks for watching

Did you disable variable valve control before taking your sample?

No i did not, I could have but when a system is working properly all components are connected, so I just did my testing. As i said in the video the vehicle came in with low oil, and from a another shop after they did a timing job..
      thanks for watching.
