A true disco gem ,I play loves unkind high Vol sub woofers on top ,and just lose yourself in the full disco experience, I buy a bottle of red for the neighbor he's fine.
I was so fortunate ( timing and being in the right place @ the right time ) I got to see Miss Donna Summer LIVE in concert in Houston, TX in the spring of 1978 or 1979 ( if recollect correctly). Oh My Fricking Gawd: The venue held at most 1,000 VERY raucous / very lively / very appreciative fans..We blew the roof of that venue. The acoustics coupled with the McIntosh speakers and Klipsch drivers was like being in the recording studio. She sounded that clean ,clear & so in command of her superlative voice ,Donna sang her heart out..May she RIP.. Another great talent gone. Enjoy while we can ,people...
Excuse me for correcting you, but I was at that concert and the place was packed. The summit held 37,000 people, perhaps not counting the floor seats. That was a huge concert, and I agree that she was unbelievable.
AMAZING Talent, I was blessed to have met her many many times....her music was colorless in the sense that she could do anything vocally but was an admitted POP vocalist who many times changed her voice and style to enhance character(s) of the song. Most singers do not/have not done this, even today. Her Love To Love You Baby vs. The Wanderer vs Once Upon A Time vs I Feel Love vs Take Me vs MacArthur Park, all completely different voices always separates her from the pack, black or white.
How I miss the queen..Mrs Donna Summer pure talent ... no female artist today can compare with her...grateful to have been in an era where music was a way of life ... today's music sucks ....R.I.P. queen...you will never be forgotten by your fans...
This record was a top 3 hit in the UK in 1977. Winter Melody, I Feel Love, Theme from The Deep, I Love You, I Remember Yesterday and Loves Unkind all charted in 77. Donna's most successful year in the UK
Donna Summer will always be the ⚘⚘⚘VOCAL GODDESS⚘⚘⚘ No one can sing her songs.... Donna can sing their songs.... Truly one of a kind..... I listen to her music regularly. I miss her so. Beautiful Woman. ⚘⚘⚘REST IN POWER ⚘⚘⚘
I completely agree with you about current dance music. The70's and 80's were fantastic! Yes this is my own work, I only did a little editing to make this great song longer. Thanks from an old man in USA.
So good to hear this song again after all these years. You just cannot beat the sound of Donna Summer in the 70's. Absolutely the best times, and music of my life.
One of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists. Donna, you helped me get through my rough high school years. I'm so grateful for your music. Thank you.
An enduring American Classic which is truly timeless and echoes the spirit of the Archies comic strip. When the song was produced in 1977, it was supposed to evoke the sprit of the 1950s where Donna pays tribute through High School references and also the back up castanets which are borrowed from the great musicals of the era. 'Love's Unkind' became a huge hit in the UK and is timeless in its appeal.
I don't know why they didn't release this track in the US. It would have been a number one for her. Then we would a fantastic long version of this song.
Donna was one of my late fav singers ... she was truly blessed with her voice. I gotta admit, I heard her voice in the 70's .. but only up to now have I really opened up to it. crackin vocalist
LaDonna Adrian Gaines aka Donna Summer, what a precious talent you were. Your breathtaking voice is still capable of sending shivers down my spine. Rest easy sweet lady.
Nice to hear an extended mix of this great song. one of the greatest singers of all time. Her seminal work with Giorgio Moroder was light years ahead of all other dance music...still relevant.
My favorite donna summer track, happy happy days in 77, the happiest of my life, thank you donna RIP, just know you gave joy in all the songs you did xxxx
I still listen to this quite a bit. Donna Summer may have passed on, but her music and soul keeps Donna alive in my heart and soul. Too many great memories & I have a plethora of pictures of her :-) ♥♪☮
The great thing about Donna Summer is that, by 1977, she had branched out. She did this album, which was a tribute to Big Band/50s girl groups sound. 'I Remember Yesterday' was a great album. She refused to just be a 'disco' artist and she could pull it off. This whole album is great: I can listen to it still (glad to be old enough to have kept all my vinyl. CDs don't do music justice like vinyl does). Ironically, the cut that was most famous was 'I Feel Love,' the first really 'electronic'-sounding song of the disco era.
The album, to quote Giorgio Moroder was a tribute to the past, the songs of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s and also showed the way to the future of the possibilities of electronic sound. I would rate it as amongst the best of Donna Summer under the Casablanca label. Which means a tribute to Neil Bogart too.
R.I.P. Donna! You were one in a million; iconic and a true Diva! You will be sadly missed but your superb records and career will live forever in the memory of us all. God Bless you. Bierney45 X
Lots of Donna's stuff wasn't too mainstream. but dig a little. You'll find she was frikin amazing. You ever seen the film "Thank God It's Friday" ? Check it out. Casablanca Records. Its a little bit Motown really...
Donna Summer has come a long ways she's gone now but her spirit lives on her voice was amazing she shows a lot of class sex appeal she will be missed may she rest in peace
I do listen to it over and over again. I do the washing up and dance around the kitchen. I also think about all the people who love this song and send them love and think how lucky we all are. To be alive in this wonderful miracle. Then I get on my Vespa ride through the beautiful countryside of southern England and think wow this won't last forever.😉
Super mix ! Thanks for uploading, I remember Donna performing this number in concert 1978, she wore a school sweater with the letter D , and had 2 pom poms, it was a live recording to be used in her upcoming "Live and More" double album...Magic night..RIP Songbird.
Excellent record, great beat, which makes you forget the sad message that love is indeed unkind! Lovely rhythm for practising (alone!) modern jive/ceroc and salsa to. PS another excellent product of the super sexy seventies!
Fell in love with Donna Summer hearing Try Me I Know We Can Make It.in the summer of 1976.. ran out the next day and bought at a record exchange ($2) at the time I was going to school in another city... came home in the fall and saw a copy of 4 Seasons of Love which was just released ..... then I pick up a copy of Love to Love you... next I Remember Yesterday and etc. etc. etc......latest is the Paris tracks..
King of this, Queen of that.....banded about all over the place......but who can argue that Donna was truly the Queen of her time ?....thanks normvork....
fantast female artist who sadly passed away a few years ago. I remember dancing along to a Big hit called this time I know it's for real RIP lovely Lady
It was my 29th birthday, fearing for whatever reason, I would not make 30, so I had a huge underwear/pajama birthday party and over 67 people showed....and as I played The Donna Summer Greatest hits/Essential hits in my CD/stereo back then ( 1994) I recall when this song came on, for whatever reasons, the party and spirit just went through the roof and created a lasting memory for me..you will be missed by millions, but always remembered..especially by me..RIP U oh so fine Diva/Disco Queen U...
I was watching the NFL Channel, and they use the beginning of this song to introduce the 2011 NFL "Are you ready for some football?"...I had to come to youtube to listen to this awsome song.
Besides a great beat, orchestration and singing - this song has a story that we all have experienced at least once in our lives (different circumstances, of course.)
One of the THE reasons Donna Summers music was light years ahead of all of the other music available then and now is her recordings with the incomparable Giorgio Moroder... His music was the cutting edge. Left most of the other keyboard players in the dust. I know Moroder inspired /influenced Patrick Cowley who did most of his music with the one & only Sylvester....
Yes it's the I remember yesterday album in her Norma Kamail outfit she brought out a new sound of disco that why she ruled disco I'm her biggest fan love you Miss Donna Summer
Donna sadly missed x
Love this version
The best. My Queen
Brings back so many memories of a great era of music .. powerful back then and still powerful now 💪🫶

Possibly my fave Donna tune, Disco doesn't get much better than this!. True music legend, sadly missed.
It's good, I'll give you that but "I feel love" was and still is groundbreaking IMO.

Excellent record, great beat, which makes you forget the sad message that love is indeed unkind! Lovely rhythm for practising (alone!) modern jive/ceroc and salsa to. PS another excellent product of the super sexy seventies!
This class singer NEVER got the recognition she deserved!
And we might wonder why?......... Not really! She put down so many of the people who put her on top. Regardless she was good. Very good.
I remember this from the 1970's (I was at school),
it was the first record I ever bought.
Marvelous rythm. This is really músic.

The legendary queen of disco❤
One of the THE reasons Donna Summers music was light years ahead of all of the other music available then and now is her recordings with the incomparable Giorgio Moroder... Not forgetting the Two Tons of Fun/Weather Girls (referring to Patrick Cowley).
Donna Summer also recorded with other record producers, as: Quincy Jones, Alec Costadinos, John Barry and the trio Stock Aitken Waterman.
Wonderful-thank you.
Yes it's the I remember yesterday album in her Norma Kamail outfit she brought out a new sound of disco that why she ruled disco I'm her biggest fan love you Miss Donna Summer
