Fleeting shot of a Clark Airborne C-1 bulldozer they must have taken in a glider. The final few shots are from the re-enactment movie Theirs was the Glory from 1946 using actual locations and personnel that took part.
Again, thanks for a really great video, most of us can be very thankful we never had to go through anything like this, it is good to see these types of video still being shown with todays rules on political correctness etc etc, very bedt regards from Australia, Les
This would've been far better titled as "Planes and gliders crashing and landing in Operation Market Garden". Because I think there were MAYBE three or four knocked out American and German tanks in it; which was actually what the video was allegedly about.
The WACO glider at 2:50 in the video. Looks like the jeep it was carrying (you can see the wheels at 2:55) shifted forward, which caused it to go nose in. Pilots would not have come out of that okay. R.I.P. all the brave lads that took on such an incredible task
At 11:01 - Tiger II note (with photo): *Did Germans use King Tigers in Operation Marker Garden?* Yes, though they seem to have turned up right towards the end of the battle and mainly fought in the counter-attack immediately after the official end of the operation. Schwerepanzer Abteilung 506 had finished re-equipping with Tiger IIs less than a week before the battle began. It had been transferred off the Eastern Front for this conversion, and was then sent west in a reaction to the Allied paratroop landings. A Tiger II of 2./S.Pz.Abt.506 destroyed by British paratroopers in Oosterbeek. The 506th was sent by train into the battle area, arriving there on the night of 23/24 September. They were attached to 9th SS Panzer Division, 10th SS Panzer Division, Kampfgruppe Spindler, and Kampfgruppe Allwoerden to support the counter-attacks against the Allied positions. The Tiger IIs seem to have done most of their fighting in early October, which is typically regarded as being right at the end of, or after, Market Garden. Whether you would count that fighting as being part of Market Garden is up to you, though the tanks definitely arrived in theatre before the end of the battle. www.quora.com/Did-Germans-use-King-Tigers-in-Operation-Marker-Garden
Hey, you're using footage from Theirs is the Glory. Fair use I suppose since the movie didn't use actors but real veterans and the damage and vehicles were real wrecks.
And this boys and girls is why the military doesn’t rely on gliders. As you can plainly see wheel landings on fields wasn’t pretty. Maybe replace wheels with skis, but then takeoff would require a detachable wheel assembly…
Thanks for the heads up, RUclips was such a pain in the butt that I dumped several video versions of this on the platform in the hope it would not get hit with Limited adds or a nonsense copyright strike.
Nothing about the failure has anything to with Monty, he was called away from the Operation and gave orders that if anything changed they needed to contact him and they never did and ignored the Dutch warnings about armor.
If you follow this channel you know it's not getting any monitization that it has to jump through hoops to just stay online and RUclips has been bullying this channel for month now. If he shows anything that is against the rules its again taken down.
I had so much trouble with this video alone, no idea why .? It got flagged 4 times and had to re-upload it 5 times to get it right and not banned in countries but it's still demonitized.
Amazing film of those paratroopers, C47 Skytrains, and gliders. Thanks for posting very cool. Those glider pilots were a rare breed.
You're welcome.
There was a lot of footage I've never seen before. Good job finding this.
Good video footage ,I have not seen before. Good work digging through the videos archives
Glad you enjoyed watching John.
Incredible footage, once again! Thanks.

Cool that this footage has been shared with us. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it
Another awesome video
I particularly enjoyed the youtube bar of nonsense. It clearly defines you as a professional channel.
Thanks for some excellent footage.
You're welcome.
It's hard to watch those gliders crashing into the ground. Being ex Airborne myself I can only imagine the last thoughts those men had.
Outstanding video.
Thank you.

It says vehicles in the tittle😅
You cant count....
I know ; One would think these blokes made it to Leningrad .
@@TheYeti308 Lol. Exactly.
Amazing footage, the reality of war, struck home 😔

Great video
Thank you.
1:50 did the plane hit the Jadtpanther?

Great, did you spot right at the very end, the knocked out, burning King tiger????
And this boys and girls is why the military doesn’t rely on gliders.
As you can plainly see wheel landings on fields wasn’t pretty.
Maybe replace wheels with skis, but then takeoff would require a detachable wheel assembly…
But, the glider landings on D-Day for Pegasus Bridge were inch-perfect...
War is hell. No one should ever wish for war.
brings it home big time
The plane crashing at 3:33, looks like a couple of guys made it out…
Omg 1st you have to survive the glider landings and the C-47 air drops....wow
Market. Not marked!

@@PanzerInsight I figured it was some sort of typo! No anger intended.
@@russjohnstone2460 I'm grateful you mentioned it, it would probably have stayed that way for long time, because I'm totally done with this video lol.

The last segment looked a little staged.
It's from a movie. I've seen parts of the movie on another RUclips channel.
From the film "Theirs Is The Glory".
Survivors of the Arnhem drop went back in 1946 to reenact their participation in Market Garden.
In a glider every landing is a crash landing
Operation Market Garden what a disaster
And nobody ever tell the story about brave pilots who losts their lives flying c47
Stop it, yes they have.
That Allied transport plane crash on Jagdpanther?
Yes there were many Jagdpanther tanks in Geel.
Pretty gritty, there's no clean battles.
Om Shanti

This is Really Video 😢
Market Garden aka Monty's folly, example of ego and need for glory trumping military good sense.
Nothing about the failure has anything to with Monty, he was called away from the Operation and gave orders that if anything changed they needed to contact him and they never did and ignored the Dutch warnings about armor.
That disasterous Allied defeat happened exactly 80 years ago. The Dutch highway 🛣️ used by British tanks was called the Highway to Hell .
Good work, but no like.
No censorship to death.
War is war is.
