The joy on flats face when he realizes its a true first comp game by one of his viewers is priceless.

I talked my son into finally trying comp for the first time about a week ago. He played tank while I played dps (I wish I had the replay). Started with defense on Eichenwalde. We were getting steamrolled in the first part but ended up coming back and eventually winning. Afterwards I asked him what he thought of comp. He said, "Dad, I enjoy Overwatch, but never ask me to play competitive again. Way too stressful."
🎉🎉
Competitive is not for everyone. The high levels of stress and constant pressure are only tolerable by a small percentage, and it only gets worse the lower you sink (level up your rank).
@@Sergmanny46 I just don’t get how comp is stressful. However I’m a really competitive player. Even in quick play my stress level is the same even though I’m picking random characters and such. I just want to win
@@snc237 Comp becomes stressfull because there is more at stake emotionally.
Once we reach a rank that becomes a form of *status* and our monkeybrains are hardwired to attempt to prevent that from dropping at all cost.
Same way many families who suffer a financial dip will often cling to their old ways/status to the point of desperation before accepting they need life a new lifestyle appropiate to their financial situation.
@@Sergmanny46 I like Comp, I hate the people in Comp. Most of my games are filled with Slur Throwing, Genji-One tricks who try to 1v5. Or Hogs who stand in the open taking all the damage, missing all their hooks and blaming the support for not keeping them up.
15:20 Love the Orisa moving right behind his barrier before ulting
bro he's using the enemy sigma shield to protect herself
5head tbh
Tbf not even flats realized the shield
@@-TonytheArtist indeed. Those heals must be defended against, way too effective
8:38 so we just gonna ignore this man trying to Chad on his own Mercy and Soldier? You can tell by the mouse twitches he thought they were evil.
Also, I love how much joy Flats gets from watching newbies. It’s like watching children go on the big playground for the first time.
the soldier fainted
he's giving him air
Fanning the soldier lmao
Im glad I'm not the only one who noticed him trying to kill his own teammates XD
I love being in a Comp game when team comms just devolve into repeated choruses of: "STOP SHOOTING THE HORSE!!" lmaoo
I usually have to yell at people to stop shooting the Zarya bubble
Flats - Stop looking at the floor!
Also Flats - How do you not see the Junkrat Trap?
you can still SEE the floor without having to look down though.
This gamer has got the mechanical skill of a baked potato and decided the play was playing Sigma, who is incredibly mechanically intense. I love the confidence lol

One thing you gain from watching flats vids enough times and this happens to me all the time, you gain a flats voice in your head just repeatedly saying what you did wrong, since you start to recognize scenarios that you have previously watched. It's honestly a very useful thing to gain i climbed my ass out of bronze to gold like that, so thanks papa flats for constantly calling my play dog shit.😅
I do that but with temporal's coaching vids

DONT SHOOT THE HORSE
@@Mierusama lmao bruh I came here to say this "DONT SHOOT THE HORSE" is constantly being screamed in my head against orisa now
@LiK unironically things like flats saying don't be afraid actually do go through my head in ranked. See a dva bomb that is in the middle of my team? Charge the cancel and throw up shield. See an opening to murder the supports, I take it. See a horse? Unless it is the only thing on my screen, no shooting at the horse. I almost always get an immediate switch to orisa or rammatra when I'm playing rein
Hey Flats, that's me! 😆😇
EDIT to add some depth to this:
- This was my first ranked game in both OW1 and OW2 😅
- I didn't even know that ranked matches have rounds system and so, I thought it will be same as quick play to be honest.
- I didn't know that hitting a target that was hit by Ana's sleep dart wakes him up, that's why I intentionally hit Orisa when she was asleep at 2:30
- I have a random right hand condition where my hand starts shaking in intense situations or when I need to react very quickly and precisely at the same time, that's actually why I don't play DPS that much, and that's why my aim on a melee hero sucked at 5:07
- I pretty much always play aggressive, and heroes that allow me to do that are my favorites.
- I got placed in Silver 3, and now I am Silver 2
- My main problem at the moment is positioning and where should I stand and hold in most maps, and hopefully someone can tell me where should I hold in 7:47
Cheers!
That's my boy!!!!
Curios how much you played ow1
@@Htiy Around 20 hours total, all in quick play
@@samehsmohamed94 your gameplay concerns the fuck out of me as a diamond rein
@@DrtyBon
I never claimed to be a top tier player anyway so I am accepting any negative comment.
But I am curious, how is it concerning you?
I love how Flats says to TAKE and HOLD space as a tank. Everyone else says tanks make space but that doesn't help anyone. Anyone can make space. A Widow makes more space on Junkertown point 1 than any tank can. Tanks have to know where the most advantageous places to fight are on every point of every map and constantly fight to control them.
Or alternatively, you make space until the enemy team has only their spawnroom left. *every tanks dream that almost never comes true*
@@charchadonto true that
@@charchadonto i actually helped a tank doing this
i was zen and he was a reinhardt, we literally held there spawn hostage for a good while
True
I love how every bad game that Flats reviews is played on Paraíso
He simultaneously looks at the floor too much and never sees the Junkrat trap haha
as a new player to overwatch and fps in general, I improved so much just by watching you and listening to your advice (even tho my aim still sucks) I climbed to silver 5 in just a week
Keep going!
dont stop there. Metal ranks are for midwits. Get out of midwit hell it gets better.
@@youtuberobbedmeofmyname yeah I'm not stopping but I don't have a lot of free time now so I'm not playing enough btw i got to silver 5 in 3 game sessions
It surprises me how many old ow players don't use Winston's new right click. That thing's almost OP on monkey.
I use to have my right-click melee on him and didn't even know he had a right click in ow2 till I died by it
Yes all of the 30 damage it does…
@Royal Messiah It does 50 damage on full charge. As Jadyn Watkins points out, the combo does a total 130 burst damage. This is good on full hp squishies, but it's deadly on chipped hp bars as it can be a straight one shot. You can be the one chipping that healthbar, btw; the range on the thing is 30 meters and it's hitscan. It's also really good on finishing people who just went out of range of your main fire ability really low (as in when you do the combo). It doesn't seem like much, but remember that 50 hp is 1/4 of a squishy's healthbar.
@@baddriversofthenorcalarea500 It does 20 more damage than you think (when fully charged) but still weak. It's good when you combo it with your other abilities. Right click while leaping then doing the slam + melee animation cancel is a big burst damage and makes them easy kill.
Ooh! Should be fun to watch. Thanks for the morning video Flats + Editor team!
hearing people call orisa "the horse" genuinely never gets old
As a proud bronze: I couldnt think of a better representation of my overwatch 2 experience
My friend wanted to try bronze out he said it was hella fun
Flats if you hold left click when you rock you shoot immediately on Sigma. It's how you get his combo.
Ya I think he knows that lol. However the speed of that combo was unnaturally fast. It was almost simultaneously
Does this work for console as well
You can tell this guy has a lot of potential. Mechanics could use a lot of work, but they seem to know what they're doing at least half of the time and have decent gamesense.
Dude this guy has no potential. This isnt me just saying this because I'm blackpilled and tipsy, this dude has absolutely nothing going for him.
He is missing with melee on Reinhardt, losing track of targets (not moving his mouse to see) with Winston, failing to aim and manage cooldowns with Sigma.
He is in Bronze and unless he has a massive epiphany, he will never get out of metal ranks. People like this are destined to be carried. They probably have less than 2000 hours played across all video games in their entire life.
@@youtuberobbedmeofmyname they had 20 hours in OW1 in QP only. Our fella can definitely climb to diamond with enough time and effort
@@youtuberobbedmeofmyname So... he's struggling with mechanics? Like OP said
been playing for 6 years and been watching for a long time atleast 2 years i just wanna say thank you to people like you jay emongg super karq ml i was hard stuck gold for 28 seasons and after like understanding your guys videos and how to really play the game i just hit masters last night so thank you guys
Congrats homie 🎉🎉
These videos where you make fun of these bronzes mistakes has helped me avoid these mistakes and climb out of bronze and silver, thank you so much
Flats needs to make a t-shirt that says “stop going for the horse”
This actually looks like a fun first comp game. Had mine yesterday and it honestly sucked for the most part. Am new to ow but getting steamrolled in 9 games (won 3 tho) is not fun lol
I'm new too to Overwatch never played the 1. And yes It was super painful my first matches, I got like 25 +/- defeats in a "row" (I mean I won some in between but I lose much more.) but now days after some weeks playing I got 20 more wins over defeats in the profile status. So I'm more happy with my winrate now, and can I enjoy better the game.
Your improvement is more important than the outcome remember that. This game takes thousands of hours to get good at coming from someone who’s been playing since 2017
I will say despite everything I like how aggressive this guy is. Most Reins I encountered while grinding back up basically just acted as shield bots with the occasional charge but this guy is at least trying to get in there.
I love Rein has undying courage when he hits shift but when it gets cancelled he doesnt proceed to rush with common movement controlls
“You are so lost, but honestly I’m so about it.” 😂 that killed me
"STOP GOING FOR THE HORSE" -FLATS 2022
These counterpicks are wild. The one we’re watching saw they were Winston and switched to sigma and then the Winston switched to orisa 💀
You missed 8:38 where he was swinging on his own mercy reviving his teammate...lol
This video was a rollercoaster of emotions
He protecc, he attacc, but most importantly he spawn camps and runs into Junk rat trapp.
Adding in Twitch chat onto these videos would be cool, I like read peoples reactions.
Hey Flats love the content! I downloaded overwatch 2 after seeing some of your videos and have been having a lot of fun! :)
Who are these annas and widows in bronze making plays????
Shootouts to them
As someone who has only ever played a single comp match I can confirm this is what it feels like
i swear that zenn guy was always dead off cooldown. rushing in 1v5.. my god
As a bronze player I have no idea what he was doing most of the time
The reason Rein is easier to work with at the low ranks is the same reason said low ranks find Orisa invincible: People often don't bypass the tank to shoot the squishies, and often they shoot the tanks from the front instead of from angles. So most of the time they just obligingly plink away at the Rein shield instead of around it.
Mind, this can also be "balanced" out by the Reins either being too hesitant or too feedy.
Another reason is positioning, at lower ranks people either bunch up or everybody tries to flank, but they rarely grab good positions.
Which then either gives the reins a bunch of grouped up people to cleave and farm ult on, or singular threats that rarely coordinate effectively.
in low elos we preffer the terms "cautious" and "agressive" xD
Just started playing OW2 around Halloween and I’m really enjoying it! Hard stuck silver atm but on that hard grind to get better and maybe one day play in a lobby with the GOAT of tanks 😂 got gameplay of my first ranked game ever and let’s just say…. Ooof. Love the vids Flats keep being you brother❤️
As a Sigma main, I almost just died seeing him try to fight that Winton
That sudden ending to the VoD really made it seem like his life just ended. He straight up DIED IRL.
Love this guy
If Flats had a dollar for every time they had to say "stop shooting the horse", they could buy a stable full of horses.
"dude you gonna touch?" replay has ended im crying
Low ELO Reinhardt is just Hillbilly from DBD
This guys is insane
5:15
That Moira is attacking there teams own Cassidy.
I will say for a new player he actually isn’t that bad, just needs to get the overwatch iq up a bit and he’ll be fine, at least he doesn’t go in completely reckless and is patient 😌
"just make decisions faster"
"oh god what have i done"
Stop shooting the horse is now your catchphrase
Never played multiplayer fps before(outside of some early halo with friends >15hours) got 40hr in ow2 with only one comp game played watching you has made me alot less worried about learning and growing in the game. Considering submitting the code for my 2nd comp match once I play it.
Honestly, play with a friend or a teammate you met during playing. Comp is SO much better with even just 1 other person to communicate with
@@AnymMusic True, communication is key to victory.
“You are lost. But actually, I am so about it.” I need someone to say this to me
Quality Reinhardt gameplay, Best champ in Overwatch 2!!!! always have the most fun playing him myself.
Love this content, as a beginner is good to know what kind of play we should avoid and how to play better
Literally jumped up in my chair and cheered at 6:07 LOL!
Overextending seems to be a worse problem than ever in OW2 for some reason... I don't know if it's only due to the new influx of players, but people don't seem to realize that 1 death can swing fights way faster now
The biggest reason is the removal of a lot of CC, so overextending doesn't get punished as harschly as it did before. Until you overextend to much and get deleted.
Figuratively speaking, in the past when you overextended you had 5 people beating the crap out of you while the enemy tank shields of your team efforts to save you.
Now once you get past the single tank, with the reduction of CC you get away with more then before, until you move into an unsaveable position. And get beaten up by 4 people.
I would still rather people go in and get killed then hang back when they should have gone in. The latter is way more frustrating for me. I set my teammates up for glory and victory, I sent out gilded and embossed invitations with hand-calligraphy, I got a sitter for your kids, I sent you a visa card and personal stylist to dress you up nice, I booked and paid for the limo, and you just said...nah. Like, what the fck?
As a Bronze 4 up from Bronze 5 OW1 Refugee with like 300 hours on Rein - I can say - this is LOW ELO TO A TEE!!!!
Shooting hyperspheres and rock at the same time as Sigma is so damn satisfying, he feels so much more flexible now
Flats at 12:53 in order to shoot and rock at the same time click rock then hold down shoot immediately after and the second the rock finishes throwing u will shoot
At 8:25-8:26 right at the very start of 8:26 there is a t-posing solider
cant get over that diagonal viewpoint straight at the floor, like how ???
Gotta say that's a bronze legend
Usually the reason you bubble early is either to block CDs or so the edge of the shield lands on your target for optimal shield dancing
12:19 "Quick! Press all the buttons!"
still better than most bronze players
quote"if there is no ana there is no reason to buble that early" . In this situation ( bronze and every body full) yea. But when there are blocable heals on enemy team ( moira, batptiste, ana, kiriko, life weaver) and you see an already injured ennemey, yea bubble early to block the ennemy team's heal to save their mate is totaly a thing because you wontfinish of anyone otherwise
I love how Bronze matches easily turn into clusters. Literally no care in the world, even Supports are in there with the Tanks and DPS.
0 game sense does this to a mf
The supports are in there because the tanks and dps don't understand how to keep los with healers, so they have to go into danger to be healing. Trust me my dps is in bronze.
this is so wholesome aww
a bronze player hitting firestrike cancels, I am here for it!
Funny they always look at the ground, still step into every trap.
This one was so funny I choked on air
"I like the thought process, but that's kinda dumb." Ha Ha
tbf on this guy, there's a chance he's looking at the ground so much to try and spot Junk traps? Feel so bad for the Ana who slept the tank so much and our guy just immediately woke them up instead of pinning rip
Mans new to comp and still better than 90% of the the gold tanks in solo queue
Horse? HORSE? Ah sh*t, here we go again 😂
I would love to see you watch a Bronze live and give tips when they are playing to see if you can guide them to victory.
This dude's better than all my teammates in every match I play
Played 9 games with Moira in ranked. Won 7 lost 2. 78% Win rate. 238 kills, 23 deaths, 10.35 kd. 64,000 dmg and 90,000 healing. 112 obj kills. 63% Secondary fire accuracy. Got ranked Bronze 4.
Make it make sense Flats lol
As much as I appreciate the hold W mentality, watching this fella walk into every single Junkrat death mine drop that presents itself is a bit painful to watch.
Not gonna lie, I'd love to know the logistics of why they went Winston in the second round. Like, the enemy was running Winston, Junkrat, Cassidy, Moira and Mercy. And they had an Ana, a Soldier, a Reaper and at varying points either a Moira or Zen. What part of that makes you think "Oh yes, Winton time!"?
Like sure, you see Winston against basically everything in high elo but that doesn't translate to all ranks. Why pick a dive tank when there's nothing in the enemy team you'd actually want to get close to?
I was only playing Rein, Winston and Sigma at this time, and when I saw that they don't have a Reaper or someone to stop a diving monkey I tried, but well...I failed.
BTW, I am silver 2 now 😇
@@samehsmohamed94 Congrats.
I'd say, keep the monkey for opportunities where the enemy either has good dive targets (Ana, Widowmaker, Ashe, Zenyatta and to a degree also Sojourn and Baptiste) or targets that are causing you trouble that Winston is just generally good against (such as Genji who can't deflect or dodge Winstons taser or Zarya who cannot get good charge off his attacks).
But otherwise, unless you got really good team comms to coordinate your dives, probably not the best pick.
Much better feedback, respect ✊
How does my man stare at the floor nonstop but misses the junk traps? No sense.
he did put his shield up as sigma when winston jumped in so there is a tiny bit of sense there
watching this makes me feel better about placing gold 5
I always wind up on the team that never shoots the rein. 😂😂
I touched my glasses and went to clean them just as Flats did :)
When it could of been the worlds biggest ego vod, but becomes a slight choke😭 so close, but so far away. I think if he stopped looking for pennies he would of probably clutched lol.
Rein was searching for that melody
Boy got that Baby Rein Bloodlust
i havent watched more than the intro but 1st game on a draw so this will either be the goofiest shit ever or the like 1% chance of getting an actual tie, been playing since 2016 and ive had maybe 20 out of thousands of games
He's got potential, at least he plays an aggressive style
Gotta say the looking at the floor I will never understand
such a nice comp game to have. mine was with my friends and there was widow with perfect aim getting backed by the entire team rolling us. (reinhardt right infront of her on high ground)
He cant channel the Chad for long yet.
MISTER WINTON! ARE YOU IGNORING SQUISHYS??!? GET OUT OF MY STORE and come again.
Definitely potential there based on his Sig play.
At least he swings his hammer
Watching this video because I'd like to try competitive in the future (once I get a decent gaming computer since my current computer can truly hinder me in my gameplay) and to prepare myself on what to expect. Loved watching it and the commentary! Now I'm not as scared to try comp anymore 😂
i have a horrible laptop, its abt 6 years old and i get 50-60fps but i made it to mid diamond solo queueing!! dont worry too much. i do think if i had a better pc id be higher rank though
You can tell this guy is a secret top 500 by the way he just stands junkrats expoding death nades. Just trying to help the supports farm ult charge like a chad.
Not gonna lie, the only reason they tied was because their tank left lmao
