Island Designing Ep. 5 - Beach Boardwalk

- Finally back to decorating my new island and in this video I'm getting you all caught up with the most recent additions, specifically the boardwalk that you all suggested. Your suggestions help me out a lot, so keep them coming!

A small dog park could be good in the first area you need an idea for. A mom's plushie, the pet food bowl, the garden faucet, a bench or two, and some bushes. Not too much, but could make an impact.
I think somewhere in those bare spots you could have picnic tables. It's so close to the farmer's market. Who doesn't want to take those honey and fruit snacks they just bought and sit down for a bite?
Also, if you're worried the surfboards look too summery for the changing seasons (I think they look fine, but I feel you), maybe you could use the sled diy when you get it and put some knitted winter hats. Or some bikes and helmets.
A small library in that second spot would look good...

I totally use the outdoor bath as a sort of garden pond too!! It just looks more like a pond to me and I love the sound it makes too😍
When I was sick with covid it really messed up my sleep schedule so many a nights or mornings I was up playing at 4 or 5am. 5am has the prettiest music. I think 2am is also pretty ? You should check those out too.

Man, I woke up at 5 AM! Urgh, too early to be awake, I can't fall asleep again... *fires up New Horizons* Ah... already... sleepy...
I also use the little outdoor spa thing as a water feature, I only recently realised it’s a bath 😂. But it looks cool so... Loving the Stu appreciation, he’s my bestie and I love him loads. He lives next door to me and has a big garden because he’s my favourite.

I had just recently logged on around 5 am one morning because I had to wake up early and oh my gosh the music was gorgeous! Glad other people are just finding that out now too 😂😂
I regularly log in at 5 in the morning because grad school SCREWED UP MY SLEEP SCHEDULE...but you're right, that music is peaceful af. I love it. Plus none of the villagers are usually awake, so I can work on the island uninterrupted lol

ALSO that first spot you talked about...what about a cute little park eating spot thing? It looks like it's by your farmer's market...so if you use the log table and benches, you could create a little eating spot. Maybe throw in a grill?

How about cliffs? Unless if you wanted to keep the main part of the island more flat, I’d suggest some cliffs to help break up the space and make the island seem bigger cuz you can’t immediately see what’s behind the cliffs
The section by the Resident Services should definitely be something like a park bench with drinking fountain, but more relaxing than the bus stop. That way you're more likely to have animals sit at it since there's someone walking around RS as is. Or a news stand to transition the farmer's market from the plaza vendors.
The bottom section really should be a park of some sort, being so close to the plaza and airport. The grass section is small, but you have a small beach down there too. So the grass section can have most of the trees, but you can extend into the beach. Which also would be great because your bridge will be right down there. So having another path heading towards the beach from the bridge would help entice people to walk down there, and give you more room to work with. Fences work on the sand, along with indoor plants, and you could reuse the cobblestone path throughout both halves.

I like the boardwalk. I don't play this game, but if it's possible, it would be cool if you could add some sort of planks down the middle of the sand for the boardwalk.

I took the little grass bit that sticks out on the end of the island and raised that as a board walk/dock where you can fish and jump off of, and I think I might continue the board walk all the way down that side (so bottom of right corner up the the river right above that grass extension) so I can put some shops. on the raised platform with it, or I put the shops on the ground next to it but still in the theme with the board walk
in the small area you could do like a little painting area or blanket picnic spot! and maybe for the skinny area by the sand like an outdoor laundromat area?? there are cute examples of all of those on pinterest!

Animal crossing the bomb when you play it and for the little area you should put like some playground equipment not a whole lot but I think it will complete it

For the new area you could make a small library for the villagers.
I love the late night music and the early morning music in the game. It makes terraforming at 4am so much better
What about a wheat field? Ive seen people use just weeds or the yellow hyacinths as wheat and it looks super pretty

glad your feeling better! the added details and boardwalk are looking great. In that area, you could always add a small orchard or farmland for the farmers market. (I'm pretty sure we'll get more crops than pumpkins too) or have like a holiday/seasonal display area. something to change around for the holidays or seasons that's going on.

I love it! Glad you're feeling better. For that lower empty place you could try doing a sunken waterfall with some statues and a jumping path through the middle, I think that would look cool. Also why's ur hair brown again, didn't you switch it to blue?
